We had of course the Pizza it was our first time here. From what I experienced service wasn’t that great our girl was not really engaged. Pizza was good. I would go back but just for takeout.

We loved everything we ordered and we’re always pleased. Their rice balls are delicious and their white pizza is superb. My wife always gets the calamari salad, which makes her extremely happy. They are not cheap with the calamari whatsoever and it’s always freshly made. I literally have no complaints and whenever we are visiting friends in Cranford we make sure to pass by!

To start I don’t even want to give this place a star. I came her the other day with my boyfriend and my family for a quick bite to eat and we all regret it. To start service wasn’t that great everyone seems very slow and doesn’t know what they are doing absolutely clueless. Next the food was gross, Mac and cheese bites were ok and so was the calamari but everything else was not up to Italian standards they call themselves an Italian brick oven more like Olive Garden and microwave food. Not only was the food a 0 but so was the cleanliness of the establishment. My mother and I went to use the bathroom and refused to touch absolutely anything. Could have sworn there was a baby roach on the floor running around. Needless to say I will never be going back to this place not only because of the sucky service, terrible food but for the fact that I even got sick after eating her! YUCK!

Emma’s has a big following in town so my friend and I recently visited for lunch. Although the restaurant was mostly empty, we waited for quite a while to get our waiter’s attention, who was glued to his cell phone. My friend and I ordered a salad to share, a margarita pizza with olives and the Emma pizza. The waiter wrote nothing down. We got our salad but then the waiter brought an Emma pizza with olives and no margarita pizza. Before we could point out that: 1. He was missing a pizza; and 2. We had not ordered the pizza he brought us, he was gone. I had to walk over to him across the restaurant to tell him. He did not expedite the second pizza and did not offer to remake the first one. After all that, the pizza was mediocre. In short, go to Fiamma in Westfield if you want better pizza and better service!

Emma’s is the very first place I ate in town after moving to Cranford, so it holds a special place in my heart! The food is so good, I tell everyone about it. Start out with the rice balls! You won’t regret it. Their fried goat cheese salad is out of this world. I really can’t tell you what the best pizza is, because I love them all! If you can make it on the night they serve the Pesto Square you should definitely go with that. The only things that keep me from giving 5 stars are that it can often be loud in the restaurant, and the service is often just okay. But the food more than makes up for that!

Stopped in Emma’s pizza on a freezing cold day — it was kind of cold inside because I think the walls open up in the summer. I wouldn’t really categorize Emma’s as brick oven pizza — it’s more like basic jersey pizza. The margherita pie was a basic cheese/plain pie of pizza. The crust is thin and the pizza was crispy but it really wasn’t what we were after. We also shared the minestrone soup which was pretty good but really salty. Maybe we’ll have to try it again!

Good food. Service is ok. They need to come up with better excuse for not giving out wifi password other than«it’s broken.» It should be available for families, especially for children. If not, maybe offer crayons and children’s coloring menu.

I came here randomly, wasn’t planned or anything. The pizza was eh, nothing amazing. I’ve definitely had better… by all means check it out if you’re starving… and in the area… I probably wouldn’t go back.

The pizza is 5 stars. Everything else is 1 or 0 stars. Order and enjoy the pizza, skip the rest.

I’ve been hearing a lot about Emma’s for a while so I was really excited to try it. I ordered a large margherita pie with sausage and the salumeria rice balls. The rice balls were decent but I probably wouldn’t get it again. It was nice and cheesy on the inside but lacked the flavor I was expecting. The marinara sauce complimented it nicely. For what it was, it was a little overpriced at $ 6. The margherita with sausage was different than I expected. Usually, there are ribbons of basil and patches of fresh mozzarella and sauce. This one had barely any sauce, no visible basil. The cheese tastes pretty fresh and the crust was really nice and crispy. After my second slice, the pie cooled down and the crust got pretty difficult to chew and the sausage was also difficult to chew. Next time, I want to try the pesto square on Tuesday nights! Staff members were nice and accommodating. No complaints there.

There is a reason that this place is called emma’s brick oven pizza. the reason is that pizza is the only food that is decent enough to eat. We tried a few items on their menu all of which tasted really bad.

I have no complaints about the food. The pizza is delicious and the strawberry salad is my absolute fave. The only complaint I have is the set up of the tables. The arrangement gives off a slight claustrophobic feel and you are way too close to neighboring tables. Although the set up is not my favorite the food is too good not to return.

Ugh. Can I get Romaine instead of iceberg, please? No, we don’t do that. Hey on that special pesto square, you mind if I can have it not so burnt? No, we don’t do it that way. Get the picture. Their way or the highway. Never again will I struggle with this place. Granted, good pie, not the best, but a good pie. But with so many other great pizza places in the surrounding area, I will no longer put up with their no can do.

We have been going here since it opened but we do not go as often as in the past. We recently stopped in around 1:30 in the afternoon and the place was very quiet. I asked the gentleman at the register if the lunch specials were still available and he said yes. We decided to go there to get the small pizza and soda lunch special. We each ordered a small pie with and an additional item on the pie and a soda. The pie was ok. We got the bill I questioned the amount because it was much more than expected. They also charged us for the individual soda so the bill came to $ 28.50 or so. The plain pie and soda special was $ 8.50 per person so I was expecting $ 20 – 22 I thought they would add an extra charge for the extra item on each pie. But I was told we did not qualify for the pie and soda special because it was a plain pie only. I have previously had the lunch special a couple of months back and they added an amount for the extra item on the pie. They also charged us for the individual soda so the bill came to $ 28.50 or so. The plain pie and soda special was $ 8.50 per person. The few extra dollars is not major but a competent waiter would have informed a customer that what we ordered did not qualify for the special. There was no language on the menu saying extra items were not allowed or no changes allowed. The register person and the waiter were not customer friendly when I inquired about the bill. My suggestion is that if you want good pizza and a friendly owner go around the block and go to Vinnys. Emma’s got the extra couple of dollars but it will be the last dollar I will ever spend there.

One of my favorite spots! Tonight was my second time here and it was just as good as the first. This time, the wait was short, which can be a downside because they don’t take reservations as its a small place and sometimes the wait can be super long. However, tonight was quick and we got in fairly quickly. As always, the staff was friendly and the food was delicious. It’s also BYOB, which makes the bill a little cheaper. Oh, and the fried pb&j is amazing! I will definitely continue coming back!

A good friend took me here for Italian food. I’m Italian, from The Bronx so I KNOW Italian food! I thought, «In a pizza place?» But Emma’s is so much more than a pizza place. First, the menu is huge and filled with amazing food — Pizza, Soups, Salads, Panniis, Pastas, Entrees, including Beef, Chicken, Seafood, … They have it all. The Caesar Salad — a first class starter, Mozzarella en carroza crispy and chewy, the pizza was excellent thin crust, fresh ingredients, melt in your mouth. My entrée was out of this world — Rustic Style Chicken Sauteed Chicken Breast with Diced Bacon, Shallots & Cannellini beans. AWESOME. I added a side of sauteed spinach. I wish I lived close by, I’d be there every week, probably 2 – 3 times.

I think it was a bit expensive for a pesto pizza and its speciality is that it’s served only on Saturday nights. My fiancé and I shared the pesto square with burnt crust. If you like burnt crust it’s for you. With tax it cost a little over $ 20. The concept was great and it was delicious after it cooled down, but I don’t see the allure to make a second trip.

When asking you to wait for a table, isn’t a restaurant supposed to under-promise and over-deliver? Had Emma’s Brick Oven told us it might be as long as an hour but seated us after half an hour, the controlled expectation would have made waiting 30 minutes seem acceptable. But the opposite happened, with the host telling us it would be half an hour; we did not get our table until after a one hour wait. When finally seating us, Emma’s did not offer a free appetizer to make up for it, let alone an apology. Starving as I was at that point, I wish the food could have been the saving grace but it was ordinary. Emma’s Margherita pizza, which the restaurant promotes as a house specialty, tasted okay enough but the portion did not leave me stuffed. The service was just as average. That was my only visit to Emma’s Brick Oven. I won’t let one disappointing experience discourage me from trying the restaurant again one of these days but if there’s a wait for a table next time, I’ll continue on my way. Emma’s menu is à la carte.

I’ve become something called a … a regular. You know. The type that’s ordered the same thing over and over again and comes at a certain time/day. I think it’s slowly becoming my date-night spot and why not? They’ve got fantastic pizzas and the appetizers I’ve had were all good. Their soppressata arancini are to die for and the goat cheese salad is a must-order. The breading on the cheese and arancini are very light, its great and you don’t feel heavy afterwards. Fantastic brick oven pizza. Crisp with delicious sauces. I’ve never been able to catch their pesto square special but it looks like it’d be delicious. Emma’s isn’t great for nightly takeout since it’s pricier than the local pizzeria but for a night out, it’s very affordable especially since it’s BYOB. Portions are perfect in my opinion, the large pies are enough to feed 2 hungry people with some to take home. I’ve never been able to try their desserts(very curious about their tiramisu). Service is always fantastic. I’ve been here a bunch of times and each time, I got nothing but smiles and great service. They’re very friendly, fast, and accommodating. I don’t think I could ask for much more.
