We have taken our kids here several times and I have gone myself and had good results. Very good haircuts and my little boy looks great.
What was nicest is they are very fast which is helpful with small children. To top it all off, we didn’t realize they close at 8 on Saturdays and they were still very nice by cutting my boy’s and my hair before closing. Nice, friendly people.

Just moved to Maple Valley and wanted to check out a new place to get my haircut. I never need anything fancy and this place fits the bill for me. 18 $ for a men’s haircut with easy conversation, shampoo and quick wash of my hair, and some product to keep it in line for the day. I’d definitely recommend checking this place out.

Got another great haircut from the shop today. I get my 3 year old son’s hair cut here too. He really likes the stylists and the atmosphere. We have both been happy with our looks every time we go.

So after 8 years of getting my hair cut here the quality of the cut is still great. The service from the front counter girl not so much. Of course they are busy on a Sunday I expect that. I am picky about who cuts my hair so when I put my name down on a list I put two stylists names down. I knew it was going to be at least a half hour to 45 minute wait as she told me that 3 times. The third time she came over and suggested someone else cut my hair was the last time she needed to try and make that recommendation. Rachel and Mandy always go A step above and give a great haircut. So to me it’s worth the wait but I do not need to be overly persuaded by a receptionist to have someone else cut my hair.

Before ever coming into The Shop to get my haircut I was always looking for a different place. Ever since coming there I have never went anywhere else. It’s a great place and they always provide good service. In all my experiences with hair salons they definitely give the best haircuts regardless of who you work with. I haven’t regretted any of my haircuts from them. Hope this is helpful!

My basic checklist for a Barber/​Salon:
— Fairly Priced: Check, 18 bucks for a men’s cut. That’s not too bad at all. Especially with the quality. More on that later.
— Good shop vibes: Check, Very low key, could just as easily be a music shop or an indie art gallery if you took the counters and stalls out
— Wait time: Check, I even called and they said no appointment was needed. No wait when I showed up.
That’s all you need for a basic haircut really.
What makes me come back to a place is the people. And finding a stylist who can talk about the Marvel CU, Suicide Squad’s questionable cast and, the return of X-​Files is… to be frank pretty awesome. And being able to talk that while still giving a great cut? 10⁄10 Stephanie.
Good cut from a good stylist. Will be back and would recommend to others.

The Shop is hands down the BEST salon/​barber shop I’ve ever been too. Great customer service, awesome hair cuts, and colors! I have to give kudos to Mandy who colored my hair recently and did a super awesome job! All of the girls there are friendly and fun and not to mention gorgeous! Awesome place to go!

In case you were wondering why I did not leave a tip the day before a holiday? I would kind of like it if you said hi at some point during the haircut, and though not required asking me the day before Thanksgiving what my plans are would have been a great segway into some in depth conversation about global warming. Oh and a thank you would have been nice! Very awkward!

Don’t listen to the bad reviews. The Shop in Covington is great. Probably the best place in town to get a haircut. It is not some Beauty Salon like a Gene Jaurez but for the price, there really isn’t a place better in Covington/​Maple Valley. If you want quality color, make an appointment with Clarise. She has been in the business a long time and is great at what she does.

Love this place for my son’s hair cuts they get him right in and do an amazing job this is the go to place for sure and great price they sometimes have a dog running around in there and that help keep kids entertained if there’s a short wait

I always get a nice tight fade at The Shop. Trust me, I’ve been other places and been straight botched! You can pay a little less down the road, but I learned my lesson. Cool stylists that know what they’re doing and the place has a low key vibe. I highly recommend.

Poor customer service. I came in with my son in need of a hair cut. No hi or hello. Instead I was told as soon as I walked in to sign in. I picked my son up in my arms and was about to walk over to the desk before she barked at me again «You need to sign in!». I turned around and walked out. I understand if you’re busy and over worked but no excuse to be treated that way!

I’ve been to this place twice now and both times I went someone was there waiting to cut my hair. First time I went Mandy cut my hair. She did a really good job of doing a fade cut and I loved the look. Second time I went I was helped by Larence. I asked for the same fade cut but added a request to do one line. He cut it a little too short but he made it work. He even offered me to come back in week to fix it up from being so short at no extra charge.
On top of the good service the place is pretty cool. I like that they have the garage door that they open when it’s nice out. The place is also very spacious.

They are very unprofessional and change prices. Quoted $ 70 for everything and finished everything. Very basic and could of gotten it for way cheaper most places. They changed price to over $ 100. Not good business at all. Will never go back, or recommend.

We have been there with my 2 boys now for quit some time! The last 2 or 3 we have had Larnce! He is so amazing and good with the kids. We will continue to use him as my boys enjoy a man cutting there hair and say he is so Awesome! That is huge with my kids!!!
I strongly recommend you visit them and ask for Larnce you wont be disappointed!!!

I just started going here this year when Sports Clips was too long of a wait. Boy am I glad I did. I’ve had great cuts from three different stylists but Larence is a stand out. He takes his time with the details and gave me some great advice with some hair product that has given me great results in thickening my hair. He understands the concerns of guys.

This ace is pretty decent for a cut. The stylist are very friendly and do a good hob following directions. I got a pretty good cut however there are other options in the area for the price like Sports cuts accros the street. I would retirm for a hair cut in a pinch.

Gave this place two chances with my teen sons. Big mistake. They are sloppy, they don’t do a «clean» cut, and the cuts were terribly uneven. I take them to the girls at BeautyWorks now. Same price and much much better quality cuts.
Don’t waste your time or money at The Shop. Gave me flashbacks of when I was a child and I butchered my little sister’s hair.
