Delicious cinnamon roll!!! The service was very fast and friendly. Also beautiful view of the water.

My cranberry turkey sandwich was ok, and the clam chowder was fairly good. Everything was just kind of bland and boring. My partner in crime ordered a side salad that was a plate of lettuce with a side of dressing. Yeah, I can take a bag of lettuce, open it up and throw it on a plate, at home. Throw a couple carrots on there or something. Jeez. Have some inspiration, for God’s sake. It wasn’t bad food but it also wasn’t great. My grade is a «meh.» There’s not a lot of choices in ol Coupeville, so I will go back and give it one more chance.

If you want a beautiful view as well as some good food, come to Coupville. This is a great family owned restaurant. They have good and appetizing food without the crazy expensive prices you would see at other local spots. They also have a pastry shop above the restaurant. I ordered the penn cove scramble and it was really good. Coupville is known for their mussels so if you’re in the mood to leave the city come to Coupville to enjoy some of the cute splendors this town has to offer.

Super nice bakery/café right on the water. I’ve been here only a couple times and have only tried their amazing Cinnamon rolls! This was one of the locations shot in the film Practical Magic, so my mom wanted to show my fiancé, as well as show her the quant town of Coupeville. The staff is all extremely friendly, the restaurant is now downstairs, and the cinnamon rolls have been known to change lives, for the better!

The restaurant was buzzing with customers eating, drinking coffee and deep in conversation. The smell of breakfast filled the air. If I had questions whether I was hungry or not, my instant appetite swayed me completely. We started breakfast with an appetizer. An appetizer for breakfast? Yup. Bread pudding with vanilla sauce. One word to describe it? Melt-in-your-mouth! Made with cinnamon roles from the Knead & Feed bakery and an amount of magic. It’s magical goodness I highly recommend. My breakfast continued with a half order Greek Scramble — spinach, feta cheese, tomatoes and red onion — and came with a side of oven roasted potatoes and toasted homemade bread. The eggs were fluffy and tasty, the vegetables seemed garden fresh, the cheese mildly sharp and the potatoes, slightly crispy on the outside yummy on the inside. The toast was equally delicious only improved with a smear of locally made jam. Was it good. Yes! Did I eat it all? Yes and enjoy every bite! Would I recommend the Knead & Feed? Easily!!! You won’t be disappointed. And if you are, feel free to let me know I have no clue what I’m talking about.

Excellent, excellent, adorable, and excellent!!! Can’t rave enough about the scramble, the mimosa, the fresh jam. I adored this little spot. I almost never find a place I can truly brunch on a weekday, especially a Monday.

Cute little eatery on Coupeville’s Front Street. Bakery upstairs, you go down a level to a cozy little dining room. THEROSES: The little dining room has a lovely rustic vibe to it, and the window tables offer a very nice view of Penn Cove. The service is very pleasant. Many of the dishes are quite good. Particular standouts are the clam chowder(note: some Unilocalers were less than happy with it, I don’t know if they just had a bad batch, or if the style wasn’t what they like); it boasts a nice clam flavor, and isn’t larded up with bacon(a major peeve of mine: some chefs put in so much bacon that the bacon flavor overruns everything else!). Fresh steamed Penn Cove mussels are also done to perfection. Most dishes are served with their homemade bread, which is delightful! The small space means that you may have to wait for a table, but they are happy to take your cel number and give you a call when your table is ready. This is a nice touch that gives diners the freedom to wander the shops while they wait. THETHORNS: While K&F does have many good dishes, I’m afraid they are rather ‘hit and miss’, as other dishes do miss the mark. A tomato-basil soup came out waaaaayyy too sweet, ‘house salads’ are uninspired throwaway afterthoughts to an entrée, and the pie suffered from a crust that was excessively salty and greasy(probably because it was re-heated in the microwave). The tiny dining room can get a bit stuffy when full and on a warm day. They try to control this with discreetly placed fans, but if you don’t get a window table, you might get a bit warm. THEVERDICT: This pleasant, homey little café is a nice change of pace from the relentless trendiness of nearby Langley. Uneven offerings from the kitchen are offset by charming service and food that, when it’s good, is really good! Overall, I say check them out! TOPTIP(management): If your pie isn’t fresh out of the oven warm, don’t try to fool the patrons my nuking it in the microwave. Pastries with a lot of shortening in them do not microwave well at all; the trapped fats resurface as grease! A quick blast in a convection oven may work better, or just suck it up and serve it cold.

This is a restaurant review, we did not check out the bakery upstairs. I am not really sure where to start here. I initially wanted to get the tuna but an hour into lunch they were already out. Fine, maybe it is a popular item. I had the clam chowder with a turkey and cranberry sandwich. The chowder is by no exaggeration the worst I have had. It was lumpy and tasteless with none of the smooth silky texture you want from a chowder. The sandwich was essentially bread. There may have been two pieces of deli turkey on there but I think it was one folded over. I was absolutely blown away because the reviews for this place rock. What an absolute disappointment. I will not be returning and I would not recommend anyone spend their hard earned money here.

Cute little restaurant on the water. Food was good but unremarkable. Fairly small breakfast menu, but there should be something for everyone. Wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, but I would go back. Have not tried the lunch menu.

The staff is friendly, and the bakery is cute. I like the place in theory, but the food is just okay… nothing special, but it’s not terrible. I also don’t like the set up of the restaurant downstairs. It is often crowded, and slow so if it’s busy I’d say try somewhere else.

I only wish they had eggs other than scrambled, but it’s a small operation and you gotta keep it simple. 5 starts for the cinnamon roles alone…

Tried the cinnamon bun with raisins from the bakery upstairs. The bun was huge, moist, and tasty. Then a group of 6 went for downstairs. They only have 6 tables so it’s a pretty small space, we ended waiting 45 minutes for a table. While we were waiting we did enjoy the nice waterside view and cool summer breeze. I ordered the white bread french toast for $ 7. It had 3 huge pieces of bread. Unfortunately the bread was not thoroughly soaked with egg batter. So only the sides of the toast really had egg. The middle was unflavored toast. The thick bread didn’t work well resulting in French toast way too bready and lacking in flavor.

Fantastic. We were seated immediately on a Saturday morning at a window with a beautiful view. Our food was delicious and arrived super fast. I got a half order Greek scramble and it was the perfect amount of food!

We have been coming here for years ! Always have had great experiences and the food was always so good. But this trip it wasn’t at all like I remembered the turkey sandwich was white bread and lettuce no flavor at all and the clam chowder was really bad we had to add so much salt and pepper to get it down and even then it wasn’t good. My boyfriend got th tuna sandwich and he said it was really dry. We live in California and always love coming here but not what it used to be. I will say the cinnamon roll was good and the service was excellent ! Major props to the waitress who handled the entire place by herself with ease. Also you can’t beat the view. But please make your food like you used to ! We really love you guys !

Part of my love for Coupeville arises out of the excellent breakfasts of Knead & Feed. Packed with chopped vegetables, the Penn Cove Scramble will make you feel virtuous enough that you’ll have to indulge in a cinnamon roll. The coffee’s strong, the people friendly, and the view can’t be beat. Looking forward to my next cinnamon roll already…

This place has some AMAZING pastries! It is rare that I find amazing homemade pastries, and I was so glad that I could find such a quaint bakery on Whidbey with some of the most delicious pastries I have ever tasted in my life. Keep in mind, the cinnamon rolls were enough to feed me for about seven different meal attempts, because they are SORICHANDDELICIOUS! We also ate lunch there, and I must admit I was a little… taken aback by their chower. It’s heavily tomato based, and it’s unlike any chowder that I have had before. Other than that, if you are looking for bread or pastries, I would recommend this place!
