Terrible customer service! I came in the afternoon to order take out. There were no other customers in the restaurant at the time. I stood at the register where two employees were standing, and no one even bothered to look up from whatever they were doing. I stood there for about a minute before the cook in the back asked if I’d been helped. The one girl looks up and tells her«hold on»… Still never having acknowledged me. When she finally asked what I wanted she looked irritated that I was even there. Oh wow! I’m so sorry to take you away from doing nothing instead of doing your actual job!

Keep it short with this review. Ordered pad Thai with chicken and shrimp, and curry chicken pasta. In that chicken and shrimp pad Thai, they managed to put two pieces of shrimp…2!!! The curry pasta had good flavor but nothing worth ordering again. We walked in at 9:10pm, and he made sure to let us know we can’t eat there. Because he is closing? Ok, so why then let us order. Oh that’s right, you want to sell whatever you got left over! Side story: A couple had already ordered pad thai before us and was sitting down planning to eat there. When they got their plate, it had peanuts and they told him no peanuts since someone was allergic. He(owner) grabbed the plate and made sure to tell them«ok but you will get to go, you can’t eat here now». Now that was rude! Change your closing time to 9pm if you won’t let people eat after 9pm.

I went to college going to Thai Spice… so that’s how a place that typically has 3 stars gets 5 stars from me. It’s my favorite Pad See Ewe of all time, as well as Pad Thai(spicy). The prices are reasonable(which was really important in college). They are heavy on the flavors(get those weak flavor profiles out of here). Don’t expect a Michellin star worth of service, this is your favorite hole in the wall thai food… that’s also a chain, because it’s southern California.

Okay you HaVE to try their pad Thai! You can customize how spicy you want it and it is just delicious! I read they were know for it so I tried it and mmmmmmm in love! Best pad Thai I’ve ever had and it’s just a lil place next to yogurt land haha. And their Thai tea is so yummy with their crushed ice. Soooo good

Thai spice is a good place to go to if you’re ultimately craving thai food and live by it. Like i wouldn’t drive out of my way to come eat here type of situation. Its located in the heart of costa mesa/newport and in a nice shopping center with lots of parking. The food is pretty decent but not the best thai food i have had in town. Ive tried several noodle dishes and appetizers and I like their fried wontons and spicy pad thai the best. It all has good flavors. The interior of the restaurant needs a little remodeling but other then that its a mediocre place to go to if you are craving some thai food and you are in the area.

Not too bad. Definitely more of a fast-food thai but good for on the go.

Don’t waste your time here. The food is sub-par the service is sub-par. Brought the family in to eat here and waited almost 45 min for 3 orders of Pad Thai and some egg rolls. Egg rolls cold, and they acted like they were put off by me asking where our food was. Not going back here.

Not sure why this place has so many 1 stars, because it is actually quite good, and honestly, you get what you pay for. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars; I would I consider it almost like the fast food version of actual Thai cuisine. Thai food can get pretty pricey, and this place was decently priced with their Pad Thai going for around $ 8.50. The flavors were definitely good and there was a ton of chicken, though the noodles were soggy and there were only 3 shrimp. Food came out incredibly quick, though, which I appreciate. Anyway, this place is completely alright, and if you’re looking for a quick fix, then go ahead come here, but don’t go out of your way.

Food is good, but very disappointed that they allow panhandlers to come in, approach your table while you are eating and bother you. After the panhandler left the staffs attitude was they know about it and tough. Deal with it. I am going to deal with it by going to another place that insists on letting their guests dine in peace.

I have been sick with food poisoning for the last 20 hours thanks to Thai Spice! since I had to call out of work and miss a day, multiple other people have now informed me that they had food poisoning there was well. Now I’m certain it’s from the food. Don’t here unless you want to be sick in a few hours. And the food was disappointing when I was eating it too.

I’ve been to this place 3 times… I only tried the Chicken Pad Thai, the Pad See Ew with Beef and the Chicken Egg Rolls. The Pad Thai usually comes with both chicken AND shrimp. I usually just order chicken only, but this last visit I ordered the shrimp on the side for my fiancé since he likes it and they gave me this little dipping cup with 2 little shrimp in it… I guess the original only comes with 2 little shrimp… I found it a tad ridiculous. Unfortunately the female worker who worked there was slightly rude to us as well… It may have been a bad day for her… but I asked her if there was sauce that came with the egg rolls, of which she replied back with attitude that she was going to bring it. I believe she was upset because I must not have heard her the first time she said she would get it… Anyways, I’d expect a tad bit more patience with customers… All in all the food is good. really no complaints. Both my fiancés and my favorite was the Pad See Ew with Beef… we were kind of fighting over it.

Your average Asian food chain. Not very appetizing but it fills you up. I’d avoid it unless you’re really itching for fried rice or something.

When I was still attending UCI, I used to love the Thai Spice in Irvine for a cheap delicious meal. You can imagine my delight when I discovered this location super close to my work! However, the service sucks. It always takes a while for them to actually come up to the cashier and take my order even when there’s no one else in the restaurant. It’s so annoying that they have to check your id every time you use a card and they’re not even nice. They once made me walk to my car to get my driver’s license before they placed my order because I was using debit card. And multiple times when the workers come to my table to deliver my order, I usually say thank you and they just put my plate down, turn around, and walk back to the kitchen without any sign of acknowledgement. It’s also not as cheap as I remember but the food’s alright.

I want to preface this review by saying I did eat here about once a week because it’s convenient location to my house but the horrible customer service has outweighed the convenience. The last time I ordered take out the order for 3 people was incorrect. I called and they said they would make it to just come back into the store. They refuse me the food that I ordered on grounds that I didn’t bring the old order back. This is not the first issue we have had but it will be the last. If you’re reading this and still want to try it make sure that you order it in separate orders to how you are paying. There system cannot split a check or management is that clueless on how to run the computers.

The noodles here suck and the kitchen is in plain sight. I could see how dirty it was and there was so much cross contamination. I saw a couple walk in to use the restroom and the register lady forced them to buy something because restrooms were for customers only. This place is so cheap and not worth the money! Not authetic at all. I also used the restrooms and it was super dirty. Gross.

Disappointed every time!!! From the disrespectful waitress that took my order this time, to the fact that«shrimp» rice contained 3 shrimp?! Egg Rolls, deep, deep brown?! Are you kidding? I was the only person there! Careless food preparation, long waits most of the time, and not a value! The aforementioned«shrimp rice» and 2 overcooked egg rolls was $ 14.00 and in no way is something you sit down and eat with relish. Horrible! Never going back. Not recommended at all!

Won’t be back. Service on paper plates? The appetizers coming after the entrees? Pad Thai was BORING. Something you would find at a mall food court. Not sure why this even has a storefront, they could give the same service and product from a food cart.

Decent place with a decent environment. I got the basic pad thai there, spicy. It was okay. I was hoping that the portions would be larger. The spicy was spicy indeed, but the kind that just felt like heat on top of heat; I don’t know if anyone understands me. Everything was just mediocre. Didn’t really wow me enough.
