Love, love, love Rochelle! She’s wonderful with color & blowouts! I started coming to her a year ago with very damaged hair from relaxers. In fact, I was losing hair from over processing. Now, under her professional hands, my hair is full, healthy, & relaxer free! Her salon is always clean & seasonally decorated. And it helps she’s always smiling & cheerful. Like I said — love her!

She knows how to plan ahead and maintain a sense of organization unparalleled to those I have seen in the past. I had to come back to Rochelle after my local stylist didn’t give me what I wanted. Well worth the 2 hr drive! My hair is long and heavy so I need a hair cut that give my hair weightlessness and always ask for a disconnected look with a look of confusion. Most stylists tell me it won’t look good when in fact they just don’t know how to do it and have it look good too. It’s very frustrating. Rochelle knows how to do it!!! The shorter top layers take the weight out and give my hair volume. I keep the lower half long so I don’t loose that sexy womanly look. The other best thing about the disconnected look is my hair dries so fast! Gives me more time for… Well, everything else!

I found Rochelle at Popular Movement about a year and a half ago and I’ve been seeing her every two weeks since. Rochelle is professional, talented and has even become one of my good friends! I have trust issues with hair stylists and Rochelle was able to break my barrier. For three years I did not let anyone cut my hair and because of that my hair had grown to have split ends and what not. Rochelle cut my hair to the exact length I desired. She put in highlights to give them some life and made sure to make me love my new cut. I am so thankful to be able to find such a great hair stylist in the OC.
She also has such a great personality that is able to make you laugh during your entire session!

The owner, Rochelle, take great pride in what she does. The salon is always in great shape, orderly, and stylish. She really likes getting to know her clients and is fun to be around. Those are the perks in ADDITION to her amazing color and cuts. I wouldn’t say I’m high maintenance with my hair, but since finding Rochelle, I won’t let anyone touch it! Just got my first haircut from Rochelle, and super happy with how it turned out. She gives great haircuts, got a fresh new look and her hours are ridiculous (in the best way). Really hospitable, offered snacks when we came in, and can help you decide what to do when you walk in blind. Super satisfied with my haircut, definitely coming here again.

Just got my first cut from Rochelle and it was great! She was great about making me feel comfortable and offering me a drink right when I walked in and had excellent music going the whole time. When it comes to the cut she gave me exactly what I asked for and was even kind enough to offer helpful suggestions. Finally she showed me some new products that were extremely well priced. Found Rochelle on Instagram and liked seeing her work on there. I can tell she’s really good with color which is what I was looking for. I really appreciated that she cared about the integrity of my hair and was just cautious over all when it came to cutting. She also took the time to explain how the coloring would work in my hair color. She is so lovely, very technical about her work, and professional. Will definitely be back.

I just moved to the area and I was in desperate need of a haircut and I wanted to color my hair as well. I checked reviews on Unilocal and I came across Popular Movement and figured I’d give it a shot. Rochelle did such an amazing job! I’ve never colored my hair before so I went in with pictures of what I wanted and she gave me such a beautiful ombré. I highly recommend her, she really listens to what you want and cares about making you happy. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

My wife pleaded her case for me to get pruned in exchange for a 6-​pack of sweet nothings. I was desperate to find an open barbershop. Using my Unilocal!expertise, I found this unique barbershop open at 7pm on a Sunday?! I placed a call and low and behold, Rochelle Randall was ready to groom my thick and coarse hair type. Her barber skills were extraordinary and she left me looking and feeling like a million bucks. I truly enjoyed the shampoo segment of my experience. Can you say laying on a tropical beach sipping on Tennessee Whiskey? Incredible my friends, incredible I say.

Rochelle is such a friendly and professional hair stylist, it’s not even funny. Whenever I have her style or cut my hair (which is often) I immediately feel like I’m at home with her. She always greets with a huge smile and a warm «Hellllo!» She’s easy to talk to while the service is being done and I never leave unsatisfied! I’ve had her style my hair for both upscale events (like weddings and black tie affairs) as well as basic everyday services like a hair cut, trim, or blow dry. And again, never disappoints! She styled all of my bridesmaids’ updo’s for my own wedding and every single one loved what she did! Plus, the styles lasted ALL night! Yay! She was timely and extremely easy to work with! Her salon is trendy yet warm and home like, very very clean, and always stocked with the best products! Why go anywhere else really? She’s the best!

LOCATION: Easy to find right off the 55 south Salon Solo is the name on the outside building (1815 Newport Ave). Sharp studio, clean bathrooms. Hair cut comes with wash.
THE BARBER: John is the man. Men if you want a real haircut Mosley is your guy for the job seriously. I’ve been seeing John for a little over 7 months now and have received 10 cuts. Each one being done with attention to detail. I have also since received dozens of compliments from multiple girls at party’s about my hair. After this starting happening it became a no brainier of who was going to be cutting my hair for a very long time. If you want to be impressed see John.
