Mother India has the best Chicken Tikka Masala in OC because they use dark and white meat. Super delicious meat and vegetarian entrees. This is one of my go to places to eat indian food.

Where do I start? We were the only patrons in the restaurant, that should have been a red flag. The service was great, no problem in that department, but the food was very mediocre. Everything we ordered was flavorless, I’m usually all about the naan bread, but that was even disappointing. Won’t be back, sorry gotta pass on this one.

This review is for last month during the Punjabi festival Lohri. I wanted to order Indian for my fiancé because my Indian cooking is just not to par yet for special nights. He has not seen his family or his motherland in 7 years, and has just had to sacrifice his festivities and traditions. So I planned a special night with a bonfire and music and picked up food from Mother India. In the special notes I put Happy Lohri. They put Diwali crackers in there, a few Lohri snackies. My fiancé saw everything and cried tears of joy. Thank you Mother India for bringing some home back to the love of my life and taking care of your patrons like family. The food is amazing and has more of that true, home cooked taste. As for you low rating Unilocalers– you can’t handle Indian food that is not 89% butter.

Prior to visiting this restaurant, I was not a huge fan of Indian food, but this place is really good. My husband and I always get the chicken tikka masala and chicken madras. They both have great flavor without being too overwhelmingly spiced. The service when eating in is good, it has never been too busy any of the times I have been, and they are always on top of making sure you have a drink. The parking lot is a little tricky, being that there is only one way in and out, but this isn’t reflected in my review. Overall, the only improvement I could suggest is the consistency of the chicken in the dishes. The sauces have been spot on each time, but the done-ness of the meat has varied a few times, from barely done to tough/dry/overdone(it’s perfectly cooked sometimes as well).

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile as it is close to my office. I ordered: Bharta, Dal Makhani and garlic naan. By far this place has the best garlic naan. The garlic was actually visible. My favorite dish was the Dal. It had great flavor. I would order this again. Tip: lots of food. I was glad they allowed me to order half orders of each dish.

A great family run restaurant. I’ve been enjoying this place for years. The lunch buffet is a great way to try different meals. Dinner is always delicious and served w/a smile. A mango lassi goes great with my Tiki Marsala.

I recommend this place for reasonable and delicious Indian cuisine take out. You can conveniently order and prepay through Unilocal. Some recommendations are the chicken tikka masala. Keema naan and vegetable biryani. They package everything really well so it doesn’t spill and are very polite and friendly.

Ordered the Chicken Vin with garlic Naan via Postmates. Vindaloo– 3⁄5 the sauce was really thin and tasted watered down. Chicken was cooked nicley. Potatoes pieces were massive. Basically a potato cut in half and placed in the dish. Naan– 3⁄5 burnt on one half, otherwise tasty Overall it’s average and good for a quick bite.

Damnit! I went against my rule of never patronizing an unknown restaurant with less than 4 Unilocal stars. This place has a lower rating for a reason. I went to Mother India for the lunch buffet. EVERYTHING was subpar. The naan was yeasty, the rice had hardened grains, the pakora was really hard, each dish was not very flavorful, and even the rice pudding was bad. The service was good, although the proprietor seemed a little worried looking(the place was quite empty). Skip it. Don’t walk through the doors…

Service was nice I give them that. The food was not good. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and it was regular. It was like a bowl of tomato sauce with a few pieces of dry Chicken. I counted about 6 pieces in the serving. So pretty stingy. The samosa was horrible. Overfried greasy and the potato consistency was dry. The papadum was the only good thing and the green and brown sauce you have with it. Overall it was disappointing. Will never go back again. I don’t recommend.

We do Scottish Fest as vendors, at the OC Fairgrounds, and so are able to make an annual pilgrimage to this EXCEPTIONAL restaurant. The lamb samosa & tandoori Quail are unusual & affordable starter options. We like variety and usually get the tandoori mixed grill, at $ 16 you get a bit of many meats on a sizzling platter. We agreed the sheik-kabob(ground spiced lamb) was the best. Lamb-tikka-masala was spiced & creamy & tender. We really like that shrimp Bhuna is offered as an entrée — order it with Puri for that«classic combo». Naan bread & Basmati rice were also perfect, along with a TALLTAJMAHAL… can’t wait for«next year».

First time trying this place and it was surprisingly good. I do not usually have a craving for Indian food but decided last minute to try Mother India. It’s buffet style for about $ 9 or so. Chicken was cooked perfectly and tender. The spinach with cheese cubes were luscious. The garlic naan was very garlicky. Veggie curry was yum. Mango lassi was refreshing. We had 2 people check in but they only gave us one free lassi and told us they no longer honor the check in.

Decent place for Indian food for lunch buffet. The garlic Naan was really good. Like the vegetarian selections. Had the typical Tandoori Chicken, Tiki Masala, etc. Cost around $ 9.95 per person I believe. Service was good. Turnover of food was a little slow that day, enough to be noticeable but didn’t affect my meal.

The good: — 9 $ lunch buffet — they don’t kill taste with hot spices — naan is very good — parking The bad: — not spicy enough

This place is delicious and has been for over a decade at least that I can vouch for! While the service is especially warm I prefer calling ahead to order and take out as the place is just perfunctory on atmosphere for dining in and the fare doesn’t seem to suffer the travel… Ordered impromptu take out from here this evening after finding our house full of guests w a hankering for good Indian! Enjoyed the Chicken Tikka, Prawn Tikka, Veggie Byranni, Veggie Samosas, Garlic Naan and had a bite of a few other dishes and really was impressed w the Quality and flavors even if the neon brightness of the dishes is a little bewildering… Will definitely keep this in the regular rotation for take-out!

In memory of my beloved friend, Through good times and bad times, YOU were always there. Whenever I was feeling down in the dumps, it was YOU who took care of me. At my worst, you never judged me. YOU were always someone I could lean on… err…sit on and for that, toilet I will forever be grateful. RIP3÷2÷15 — Takeshi I paid Mother India a visit for the lunch buffet($ 9.70 including tax) and upon setting foot on this establishment, I noticed its nice, modern look. The server was prompt to acknowledge me and sat me at a table right away. Unfortunately, this is where all the positive ends. I made my way to the buffet table and noticed a mediocre selection of food with an extremely limited amount of proteins. I grabbed some of the Tandoori Chicken and Tikka Masala, which were the only two meat items. Neither items were particularly memorable except after eating them(read first paragraph) I’ve certainly had better versions of both items. I also took in some of the Nav Korma and their Broccoli and Potatoes. The Nav Korma tasted watered down and had a very unpleasant aroma, only surpassed by that of the broccoli and potatoes. The smell would permeate my clothes, my nose would pick up hints of sweaty feet sprayed with cologne– Eau Nó, that seemed to follow me wherever I went. A couple hours in to consuming these items, my stomach felt as if it was in a stack of needles while being punched repeatedly by Mike Tyson going under the name Mother India. Needless to say, I had enough runs for a marathon. To accompany this all too pleasant sensation, I was greeted with a nice little headache and a smell to my mouth which would put anyone with halitosis to shame(and no I didn’t have that smell before). I will give credit where credit is due(and also where its accepted), the service was great and the server was friendly, he made sure I wasn’t going to die of thirst during my visit. I give them a bonus star for their service, however I may have to pass on the food next time… and probably forever.

Butter chicken and samosas are my favorite. Beem here a ½ dozen times and they are consistently good. Its a small place 14 tables– in a mini mall off Bristol– you would never know such a great spot is hidden behind the paint store. Lunch buffet is always consistent– and they Are open daily. Get the gatlic naan– i could carbo load here all day!

Order Saag paneer and Chicken tikka masala. It was tasty. They also give green tea ice cream on the house. The service was very good, and everyone was very friendly. I would go back.
