Stumbled upon this quaint restaurant when the standard chain eating venues didn’t appeal. So glad to find it! Very welcoming presence, despite the fact we were there just 20 minutes before closing. The breads looked amazing, and indeed, those we had on our sandwiches were fabulous. In fact, the taste blend in our sandwiches were delicious and unique. Plus, the customer service was very personal even though we went through a line at the counter and ordered at a register. The smiles were genuine and the responses to our questions were gracious. We even experienced a visit to our table by someone just checking to see if we were enjoying our dining experience. Indeed we were. This is a fun find worth checking out for casual dining. Only wish there were a Cosi restaurant closer to where I live because I’d become a regular.

Everytime I visit this location they are out of something. Today they said they are still out of tofu it’s been a month. Last visit they ran out if the golden beet bowl, and literally the last 2 visits they didn’t have the multi grain bread. The service is terrible it takes forever. And make sure you check your to go order because they always forget something it never fails. Ps they didn’t have the smart fit or signature salad either! I have no idea how this place stays in business!

This place is so overrated… It took like 25 minutes to get our food and the place was empty. The cashier showed no enthusiasm for customers. The sandwich was actually good, but it came with a tiny bag of carrots… I asked for extra dressing and that never came. After 5 minutes I had to walk up to the cashier and ask again. No apologies or any acknowledgement of his forgetfulness. Don’t get me started on the sorry pizzas. We ordered two; 1 cheese and 1 margherita. One was cheese and just tomato sauce… Tasted like cheap Hunt’s sauce. The other just added basil. The regular pizza size is a 6″ x6″ square. Overrated. No wonder it was dead. Save your money. My 9 and 10 year old said they would never return.

It’s quite tasty! This place reminds me of panera bread and chain cafes. I decided to try this, since I was totally starving from doing my black friday shopping in that plaza. I like the décor and the ambiance. I LOVE how they bake the flatbread fresh according to each order. It’s also very decent priced and DELICIOUS!

Not somewhere I’ll try again. First impression was poor — their menu has multiple items blocked off by post-it notes, meaning they are unavailable. Looks very tacky. Wait staff neglected to inform us of ingredients that were unavailable as well, and served our food with substituted ingredients instead. All-in-all, it was a poor experience, the food was mediocre at best. Not coming back.

First off this place needs to train their staff on the menu what they have and what they can recommend to first timers etc… Our cashier couldn’t care less if we were there or not and was so bored of his job that he was checking his watch the entire time. We placed our orders got a few drinks and seated ourselves. The ambiance is great and has a nice view of the outside. However, the Food here is horrendous!!! Cold buffalo chicken sandwich, they didn’t even bother to heat it up. Stone baked bread yeah last century ago. The food was barely edible tasted horrible and ruined our lunch! I could not in good conscience recommend this to even my enemies; well maybe just a few. Note: Owners /Management Train your staff!!! provide quality service and if you want to survive provide better food. I will definitely not return to this place till i am convinced otherwise.

Not so good anymore. They got rid of the drink machine and the stake sandwich. I am moving from this place.

Over priced, mediocre food. I had the salmon salad for lunch, nothing over the topl. It’s conveniently located in Metro point next to the parking garage. It gets busy at lunch time but there’s indoor and outdoor seating.

I really hate to leave such a negative, review full of rage but I just wanted to warn you that servers here are LIARS and SLOW. We ordered a sandwich and the server told us there was no more pesto sauce so I asked for a discount.(Pieology gave me a discount when they ran out of basil so I expected the same). No big deal you can just say no. Instead, the untrained young server took 10 minutes asking around what to do until finally the pizza chef told him they have the pesto sauce so we were relieved. What happens? The server almost gave our order to another table twice(which he did to everyone else who’d ordered) and there was no pesto sauce!!! The chef lied to the server just to get it over with. Ethical business manners here are nonexistent and it seems the untrained server here has been working for quite a while now based off the Unilocal reviews. Unacceptable. If you want to wait 45 minutes just to order and help the server decide whose food is whose, check this place out. They’ve got AWESOME service…

Slow service and mediocre food. Stay away from their Bacon Turkey melt as if’s disgusting. They got the cheese wrong, and the flatbread pizza was just bread with a little cheese. Worst service. Subway would’ve been a better choice.

Cosi has Panera beat, still a very similar idea. The salads are awesome! You get more for your money than at Panera, I had the Salmon salad which rocks! No really every bite is so good, fresh and they use so many ingedients, high quality salmon, homemade sesame brittle, fruit, vegetables and a chili lime vinaigrette and is light and has a bit of a kick! The brittle is to die for! Seriously I would buy a bag full and eati t by the pound! The whole grain flatbread is yummy, I put some butter and honey on it and had a nice dessert, though their cookies looked awesome, I just didn’t want to add another $ 2 to the $ 30 that I paid for 2 salads and a sandwich which I found steep. The man had the steakhouse salad which he also loved, he was surprised they used real tenderloin and along with that he had the turkey, bacon swiss melt which looked skimpy but he enjoyed it. Overall I would go back for salads for sure, the sandwiches are small and pricey, not much better than Panera. Service is nice and super fast here, even though it was full, nice light lunch on a hot summer day.

Cosí is cozy! This is a great place for«cozy» food. Here you will find sandwiches, soups, salads, coffee drinks, and flatbreads. To start off, their bread tastes amazing! I always get the multi-grain. Another thing that I always get here is the Pick 2 meal, pairing it with a sandwich and soup or a salad and soup. Why the soup? Have you tasted their tomato basil??? It is delicious and hearty. Dip some chips and bread in it! Their sandwiches and salads are basic but good. I am a fan of their Caesar salad and sandwich. I did NOT like their turkey and brie sandwich. The spicy honey does not go well and has a bitter aftertaste. For desserts, they have a little campfire setup where you can roast s’mores! I have yet to try it. In conclusion, I like Cosí because it can get a light and hearty meal for a good price. Stop by for lunch!

I loved this place! I just moved to the area and was looking for a place to grab lunch. I looked up what was close, menus, and reviews and decided to try it. When I went to order the girl at the cash register was super nice and helpful. I asked what she recommended and she gave me an option in each section. I decided on the pesto chicken hot sandwich. It was awesome. You can choose between a side of carrots or chips and I decided on the carrots. You can also choose between whole grain flatbread(they are known for their flatbread) or white flatbread. I chose the whole grain. It was delicious! The bread was amazing, chicken was perfect, perfect cheese, pesto was delicious, and they even put a little red sauce on it to tie it all together. Sooo good and highly recommend. The atmosphere is also so relaxing. It’s a quiet place to work, read, or just play on your phone. Free wifi also.

Let me preface this review by saying that if I strictly went off reviews of my fellow Unilocal peers than Cosi would probably be a place I would steer clear of. I am happy for the fact that each and every person on here has their own opinions and basis in which they critique businesses but also that I am open minded enough to always give the place a firsthand try myself as well. With that said lets move onto the review. Cosi is a great little café style restaurant across the street from South Coast Plaza in the food court portion of the center that houses the Best Buy and Norstrom Rack stores. The service here on both visits has been very friendly and I find the food to be fast, relatively affordable and most importantly fresh & delicious. Our first visit here happened during a visit to the mall itself and we wanted to try something new for lunch. I had originally set my mind on Finbars Italian but this little place stood out more to my wife who loves the sandwich and soup concept of these little places so we came here instead. It turned out to be an excellent choice as we both really enjoyed what we ordered. For my first visit I went with the Italiano sandwich which was made nicely. Each of the meats tasted fresh and the bread was delicious as well. In my opinion I could really tell that they take pride in the ingredients used to ensure a fresh product and the fact that they use locally grown crops and meats is always a plus as well. The sandwich came with a bag of their branded kettle style chips which were good but a bit on the salty side for me and I had a hard time finishing them. My wife went with the Tuscan Chicken Pesto sandwich and absolutely loved it(I may have to try this next time around). After our lunch and moving on we both said how good the place was and that we wanted to come back soon. A few weeks later we stumbled upon a Groupon for the place and quickly snatched it up to come back. Fast forward a couple of months and we finally made the decision to head back over this way for the followup visit. This time I came in with the knowledge that I wanted to try something new. After quickly scanning through the menu options I settled on the BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza. The chicken and sauce were amazingly good as was the cilantro and red onion that topped it but that smoked gouda cheese was a bit different tasting to me(I am not a huge cheese aficionado like some other people) but I got used to it as the meal progressed. My wife went with the Tuna Melt and just found the sandwich to be quite blah overall which was a bit disappointing as she usually loves this type of sandwich from most places. Overall both experiences were relatively good ones although the food from the first visit may have been a bit better than our choices on round number 2. I am sure we will be back again for sure for the quality of the food alone. Despite the small shortcomings I am a fan of the place and am looking forward to trying several other items from the menu. If you like lighter options that use healthy and local ingredients then this is a place to check out.

Came to South Coast during the Holidays. Dodging the crowds made me hungry. Several of the eating establishments were crowded since it was prime time lunch hour. I decided to check this place out since the line wasn’t very long. But it turned out service at the counter was slooowwwww! There was only one cashier and the order line was to the door. Come on now, there’s 2 registers, get 2 cashiers working the line during prime time! When I finally got to the counter, I order the flatbread chicken sandwich with pesto and sun dried tomato spread with fresh basil and mozzarella cheese, which came with a small bag of chips. The chicken in the sandwich was tasteless. Luckily the pesto and sun dried tomato spread with fresh basil leaves saved the sandwich. The sandwich was okay. May be I’ll come back to Cosi, if there’s no other lunch choices around Metro Pointe Plaza.

I wonder why so many bad reviews? This place is nice and quiet on a weekday. I am writing this as I am sitting here. 3PM, not many people. So it’s a nice place to study or get some work done. They have free Wifi and an power outlet on almost every wall behind the seats. I can charge my laptop and phone while here. Food: I ordered the Chicken Pesto Sandwich. It’s more of a flat break/wrap than a sandwich. It was not as big as I thought it would be. I mean, paying $ 7 plus for it, I expected more. It did not fill me at all, but it was good. Chicken wasn’t dry like other people said. Maybe it changes from time to time. If they gave a bit more food, I would probably give this place a better rating.

Located at the Metro Pointe past Finbar’s. Only decided to come here because I bought a Groupon. Order at the counter, take your number and find a seat. What we got: Korean BBQ Pork Bowl($ 8): which was pulled pork and veggies on top of rice and a side of bread. I didn’t see any Korean influence in this dish at all. Pork tasted okay to me, but I was expecting the Korean flavor to come out of it. My BF didn’t enjoy the dish that much, but he said it was okay. Shanghai Chicken Salad($ 8): grilled chicken on top of a bed of mixed greens and served with a ginger soy dressing. I love Asian influenced chicken salads and enjoyed this one as well. Nothing too special about it though and tasted just like all the other Asian chicken salads I’ve had. Service: Cashier seemed annoyed that we had a Groupon and the man making the food kept telling her to make sure to scan the Groupon to see if it worked. Food took awhile to bring out. So most likely won’t be coming back to this place since nothing really stood out to me.

Located in Metro Point a few stores down from Finbar, this place serves sandwiches, salads, pizza and the like. I bought a groupon for this place and so came here on two separate occasions. In the first occasion, I tried the Korean Bowl and it was good. There was just the right amount of food, the food tasted great, and it was an overall satisfying meal. One second occasion though, I ordered the Signature Salad and that was a big mistake. The salad bowl was small, mostly because most of the room was taken up by the leafy greens, it was drenched in dressing, it was missing ingredients(there was no cheese until I went back and reminded them) and I ended up leaving still hungry. It overall was just a shitty experience for something that felt so half assed and just tossed together. The bread and lemonade I had with both were good though. The place was overall rather empty when I went which was nice. If I had written this from the first visit it would have probably been about four stars but the second experience was just so bad that I can’t give this place anything higher than two.

Not sure if this place is simple or boring. I tried the Turkey & Brie sandwich with honey mustard. It had real turkey, none of that compressed luncheon meat. And lots of cheese. Nice to have a sandwich that didn’t skimp on brie. The honey mustard was alright, but it needed something green or something tart, like arugula or a cranberry relish to round out the flavors. Cosi takes pride in their bread, but this was my least favorite part of the sandwich. It’s on the dry side, and cut up the roof of my mouth, which is automatic negative points. The very same flat bread is also used tor their pizzas(which sounds like a great way to ruin pizza, imo), so I won’t be trying those any time soon. It comes with a side, so I went with their Kettle chips, which are okay, but I should’ve gone with carrots instead. Got a Mojito lemonade to drink, which was sugary sweet but pretty good otherwise. The interior is contemporary casual, and the seating is pretty comfy. But with no music playing, the atmosphere is eerily silent. I sat near an overly-sensitive automatic ghost door, which opened any time someone made a gesture in its general direction. If weather permits sit in the patio area, where the outdoor vibes are bit more pleasant.

I’m going back and forth on what to give Cosi as a rating but ultimately, I don’t see myself having any inclination to try this place again. What’s great about Cosi? They make their sandwich bread/flat bread fresh. This was hands down the best part of the experience. I got the chicken pesto sandwich and felt really indifferent about it. I think it was too boring for me to remember anything concrete. My order came with chips and my friend said they tasted«healthy” — they tasted like regular old chips to me. I think what left a bad taste in my mouth is the clam chowder I ordered with my sandwich. It wasn’t creamy, heavy, flavorful, full of clams, all of the things I like about my clam chowder. When I was done with my soup, I realized a heaping portion of potatoes left over… the reason– they were severely undercooked so there was no point in eating them. Serves me right as there is a Boudin only steps away. Don’t think we’re going to Cosi up any time soon after this experience. FYI– I’m not a big fan of Corner Bakery, Panera so go figure but there have been other soup/sandwich places that have blown me away!
