I have been coming to Pacific Tan for years now but really appreciate the attention to detail of the new owners. I always make appointments because I have a favorite bed that I swear gets me bronze in a couple of visits (the grand lodge) and I never have to wait. I also live by the rule of getting a spray tan before every special occasion and they are the best. Such a perfect application and it lasts for at least a week. I am an aesthetician in the area with my own practice so I notice professionalism and good service when I see it and am always loyal to it. Highly recommend them!

First of all I love this place. The salon it self gets 5 stars from me. This review is not about the salon, it is about an employee that I find quite rude and belittling. The first time dealing with her, Kelly, I let go because she was new and didn’t know me yet. So I listened to her whole spiel about having to use moisturizer, which products to use blah blah. The second time, no, I do not have to be spoken to in a bettling manner. Like she knows everything and in turn talks down to a client. It’s all about delivery baby and how you speak to someone that counts. Tone means everything. I will not deal with her again

Worst air brush tan EVER. DO NOT GO HERE. Pasty white is better than looking like an Oompa Loompa candy cane. Believe me. Streaks, lines, orange, entire areas missed. I had gotten a couple of bad air brush tans here years ago but was in a crunch and have a big event today. I knew better but figured they had to have gotten their act together in the last few years or else wouldn’t be in business still right? NO. They ruined, repeat ruined, my skin. I don’t know how to fix. It is just awful. Worst air brush I’ve ever had. I gave a huge event and am embarrassed to even go out in public. Go to Brown Sugar in SF or Lucky Bumble in San Rafael. Or, if you’re like me and can’t get in to either, skip it all together. Seriously people.

I love this place and the staff is super nice BUT DO NOT BUY LOTION FROM HERE! Go on Amazon or any other retailer to buy your lotion. I paid $ 120 for lotion here and I can get the same exact lotion on Amazon for $ 40. My mistake for assuming the prices would be somewhat close.

Monica! Monica! Monica! Been meaning to write this for a few months now! I’ve been to so many different spray tan artists in Marin and Monica nails it every time! Some times I get nervous before a big even to have someone spray me (I’ve been orange too many times, even at pacific tan) but Monica is so solid!!! Thank you for always making me look my best!

Unprofessional,. Unorganized. Worst airbrush I have ever had. Novato was open, then closed, the women who work at Novato smell like cigarettes. So unprofessional. Do not even bother going to this place. Pac tan has gone way down hill.

Ian is the new manager and is fantastic! He understands the importance of customer service and has made a tremendous difference at Pacific Tan. Pacific Tan is The Best in Marin.

Seriously. I am trying to love this place again but this is the second time I have shown up for an appointment to find doors shut. Just a bunch of sun starved patrons standing outside wondering if they are going to show up. The girls are great who work there and the manager is awesome — no complaints there. I think this is a case of poor management from the owner who more than likely does not treat his employees respectfully (to say the least).

Broke down and decided to give Pacific Tan another go (see previous post about terrible experience attempting to get a spray tan for a wedding that left me frustrated and tanless). This time, I’m preparing for another wedding and booked two tanning sessions at their Novato. I booked online and received text confirmations. Well, I just showed up and the location is CLOSED. Permanently, I assume. So why did I get confirmations?! So I followed the instructions on the door and called their Corte Madera location to see if they could help me sort this out. NO ANSWER. I mean… I used to swear by this place. Burn me once. Shame on you. Burn me twice. Shame on me.

I really love this place — great airbrush tans and professional staff. However, I’ve been trying for the past week to make an appointment with absolutely no luck. There is no answering machine so whenever I call, it rings endlessly and I have tried calling both locations at different times during the day. I also emailed in the beginning of the week and still have not received a response.
I would love to continue to use this service, but I’m really frustrated with how difficult it is to make an appointment.

I had quite a different experience this trip than 2 years ago when I loved it. I wanted a light tan prior to a vacation and I got what I’d consider a medium to dark. My stomach showed streak marks on day 2 so I did my best to rub it off. Would never do this again.

Ridiculous. I’m in a wedding on Saturday and made an appointment at the beginning of the week for today (Thursday) at 5:40. When I showed up to my appointment there was a handwritten note on the door saying they would be closed until further notice and then another note taped to the door saying «owner is awful». By the time I saw this I didn’t have time to go anywhere else as it was late in the afternoon. I understand that things happen, but when you close unexpectedly I would expect a phone call canceling my appointment in order to give me time to make another appointment elsewhere. So so unprofessional, they will never get my business.

If you are curious to see how outstanding customer service is done then come to pacific tan! This is a business that could easily sit back and relax as they are truly the only decent place for a good tan– but manager Ian makes everyone feel special– greeting you by name and always finding a bed for you regardless if you had an appointment The spray tans are great– no smell and super professional.

Pacific Tan is without question the FINEST/​BEST TANNING SALON IN AMERCA. Period.
Beautiful décor and spotlessly clean and taken care of facility. Each room has a different ‘theme’. The staff is always pleasant and very accommodating, and they keep the tanning beds in perfect working order (yes, they change the bulbs regularly so when you go for a tan. .. you actually GET a tan!). I recommend Pacific Tan highly and often to friends and anyone who wants some color!

I WORSHIP Pacific Tan and consider it to be my «Tanning Church»! Not only are the rooms individualized and super hip (they just did a major remodel of the lobby!) but so are the people! While I am sad that some of my favorite peeps have moved on, I am proud to say that I have only disliked one employee, who no longer works there, in the 11 years I’ve been a member. I adore manager, Rachel and think airbrushers Amanda Strach and Megera Becucci do a fantastic job! Just tried Megera for the first time and was very impressed! She is a perfectionist and made sure my tan was even, the right depth and tone and that I walked out a happy customer. How can you not leave happy when you have fun people as well as cookies and complimentary water to grab on the way out?!
On a final note, I really appreciate that Pacific Tan is now open on Sundays and Mondays unlike most other tanning salons. Sunday is my optimal day as I have my husband to babysit the girls. Eureka!
