Milvali Salon and Cosmetics

I started going to Karen for facials because of a LivingSocial deal. Karen is a love and my skin feels amazing – and I feel like I get to have a visit with a lovely, warm, kind being who really cares about me and my experience there. Now my skin feels fresh, moist and pampered. She uses Eminence products which I love – I have sensitive skin that can be challenging sometimes… I’ve shared the products (especially the eye cream) with my friends and they’re loving them also.

My friend had a pamper party at Milvali and it was awesome. The shop is located deep in Mill Valley on a quaint main street… real boutique feeling. The inside is nice and typical salon-​looking. The best part about this place is their staff. They have the most attentive and super friendly staff I’ve ever encountered anywhere! Not to mention the huge variety of services they offer. Considering the fact I’m as hairy as a sasquatch, I opted for eyebrow and upper lip waxing which was great. The lady did a nice job and it was pretty painless. I also had my eyelashes and eyebrows dyed. Since my hair is so dark I couldn’t really see the difference with my eyelashes but I really liked the eyebrow results… my eyebrows were really faded and dusty looking but the dye helped them look darker and fuller. My blonde friend had her eyelashes done and it was really noticeable… she looked awesome, like she had a really thick coat or 2 of mascara on. They offer tanning, make-​up application and hair services. They also sell products which were pretty pricey… I purchased a bottle of vanilla bean scented conditioner for $ 23, it smells great but no real difference. They offer a service bundle for about $ 43 that includes eyebrow and eyelash dying and waxing… double check though. It sounded like a great deal. I really enjoyed this place and will be back for more eyebrow dying… I might even try a haircut next time. Thank you Milvali for a great experience!

They hosted a fabulous pretty party for my gal pals. It was a much-​needed pampering with TLC; the staff went above and beyond. They were all so lovely and extremely gracious — stellar hospitality. Every time they finished a brow or lash tint, they would offer us a glass of bubbly. All we had to do was sit back, relax, and let the professionals take of care of business.
Their talented team of stylists will ensure you look beautiful and flawless. They also offer the best skincare products from Eminence Skin Care. My girlfriends and colleagues absolutely love this salon in the heart of downtown Mill Valley. Book your next pretty party here, highly recommended! I arrived at the salon with a friend and our experience was amazing. We were treated like princesses. The staff is super knowledgable about their products. I had my eye lashes tinted and the results were amazing. Peach was a delight, and very good. Dress is casual. This is a great place for a day out with your girl friends, because you will leave feeling pampered. I saw a couple of people getting up dos, and the end result was perfection. I will most definitely return.

I just got a really bad spray tan here. The color is very uneven. One arm and hand is way darker than the other. And just way darker than arms should be. There is a clear line down my stomach and one leg with one side darker than the other. My legs are barely tan. Its very splotchy and all over the place. Thought that a personal airbrush tan would be much better than this. So disappointed :(

Been here twice… Once with a Unilocal event, and again today, to check out the place after the «party» was over, and get my hair done.
Had my hair colored by hair stylist, Lisa. I like her. She’s friendly, and easy to converse with. Gave me good suggestions as to what to do with my hair over time. My hair is long, and thick– it took almost 3 hours to complete… For the color and style it cost me $ 165. Not a bad price, it’s what I typically pay for my hair in any Bay Area salon.
Lisa explained EVERYTHING to me before doing it… Making sure she/​I were on the same page… I totally appreciated that!
After my hair, I got my first eyelash tint, and eyebrow tint. Love the look. Makes the eyes pop a little more… The trio is the two items mentioned above, with a eyebrow wax. Around $ 47 for the trio, and that takes about 30 minutes for all three.
THEN… Got my makeup done by a sweet Latin girl who really knows how to «not» pile on the makeup. For a make-​up session, it’s $ 45, but I had a coupon given to me by #yelpelite event which is why I decided to try this out. (Normally I do my own makeup just fine, but it was nice to go for the full pampering.
I was at the salon for literally 4 plus hours, and lemme tell ya… This place is happening on the weekend! Clearly they have a steady group of «regulars», lots of kids getting their hair cut, along with a heathy group of men, and of course women.
I’ve absolutely found my new hair stylist, which is awesome! Thanks to #Yelpelite for the girls night, which is how I found this treasure.

This is a gem! The owner has worked hard to build space and services, in addition to forming an outstanding staff! Peach does a wonderful job on eyelash tints and eyebrow wax and arching.
Alex made my hair shiny and curly and just adorable. Nellie introduced us to a skincare expert (I’m soooo sorry I forgot her name, but we went home with purchased product. This is a wonderful place to be professionally pampered!

I’ve always walked out of Milvali a satisfied customer, but today I had the pleasure of meeting Candic, a skilled and knowledgeable colorist who specializes in the bright louder colors, I took one look at her (hair) and knew I HIT THE JACKPOT! She hooked me up! Purple, lavender, different shades of plume beautifully blended. My hair is soft and shiny I can’t stop looking at it, I absolutely love it! THANK YOU CANDIC!!!

I received amazing service from the staff at Milvali Salon and Cosmetics. It is a one stop shop of beauty. They offer a variety of services from hair, to waxing, shaping and cosmetics. Plus they carry the quality products for purchase. They have so many friendly employees and I even chatted with the owner. What a great addition to Mill Valley. Shay did a fabulous job with my hair. Thanks to her blow out, I left the salon looking like a movie star. Even better yet Shay was super quick. I’m so excited to have that trick in my back pocket. She was super friendly, efficient and fantastic. (I’m on day 3 with my hair, and it still looks great.) Then I was off to Hillary who tinted my eye lashes, tinted my eye brows and waxed my lip and brows. All that in less then 20 minutes. Super thrilled with the result. Will definitely make my morning routine much easier. As a new mom, I definitely look forward to being able to get up and go. Hillary was friendly, knowledgeable and a perfectionist. I cannot say enough good things about MilVali salon and the staff. Thank you for a lovely evening full of pampering.

I had a great experience at Milvali. The stylist are current in styles and can look at you and let you know what to do with your hair. This is a full service salon which includes eyebrows, waxing and hair dying. The experienced estheticians will wax you from top to bottom.
I thought it unique to have eyelashes dying and eyelash extensions. Milvali even offers eyelash lash fill-​ins. This means that when your lashes grow, the stylist will put a little piece of hair filling-​in the little spot that grows and where the extension are added. It’s not confusing, it makes sense and looks great.
Speaking of eyelashes, Milvali offers skin care. There is an $ 80 eyelash care oil that basically is guaranteed to work. The salon offers makeovers highlighting Milvali brand make-​up.
I enjoyed the face products, waxing and hair care. Did I tell you how nice the staff is. Well, they are very nice and friendly. Stop by and say Hello. Ask a few questions and have a nice conversation.

My daughter & I enjoyed a special evening here at a ladies event. The entire staff was incredibly sweet and down to earth. The salon carries quality hair and skin care products with no pressure to purchase. They also have their very own line of beauty products which are made with natural ingredients. I will be returning soon!

Writing this review is had because I’ve been a client of Milvali for years. The staff is wonderful and super friendly and I love the estheticians in terms of waxing, I haven’t tried them for much else. Now for the hair…
I have dirty blonde hair naturally and I came to see one of the hair dressers (I won’t say the name because I like him as a person and don’t want to disrupt business for him), to touch up my roots. He suggested bleach or high lift. I should’ve got out of his chair right then and there because I wanted my hair to look natural and every time someone bleaches or high lifts my hair it either a. turns out like Gwen Stefani (which is not the look I’m going for) or yellow brassy gummy blonde (which is horrendous). We opted on the high lift because he said it would be less damaging. In my head I kept thinking somethings wrong but he’s a senior hair stylist so I trusted that he knew what he was doing. Needless to say my hair turned out yellow blonde brassy gummy. I tried to act happy leaving his chair because he’s a nice person and I didn’t say anything at the time to spare feelings but I literally had a breakdown in the parking lot. After talking to a bunch of people, my friends said I should share my experience. For $ 300+, I should love my hair not be crying and hiding it under a hat. It’s been two weeks now and I made an appointment with another salon to fix it. I wish I had my old hair back.

It was an absolute delight sitting in Vanessa’s chair getting my hair styled! I didn’t really know what I wanted, so she tried a couple of different things and figured out what I liked on the way! She gave me some fun ideas about what she’d do if I came back for a cut and highlight and I think I’ll let her do it! Thanks, Vanessa!

This was a gift for myself for the Holidays that went somewhat wrong. The first time things didn’t quite work as planned so we scheduled another apt to color correct. After leaving the final apt today and a group of silent, somber hair dressers my hair looks like it’s from 2001. Not sure what happened, the communication was off and it was as if everyone knew it but was too afraid to say anything. I’m out 290 $ in service, 100 $ in tip and 30 $ for product.
They seem to be a great establishment, my experience was just unexpected. If I’m spending time and money, I want to feel like a million bucks when I walk out and this wasn’t the case for me.

Milvali is my go-​to for spray tans, hair color, and bikini waxes. The interior is modern and clean and they always have cookies and refreshments while you wait. As a college student, if there’s free food, that’s automatic brownie points in my book (no pun intended).
I haven’t gotten an airbrush tan in a while, but they always do a great job with it. My skin is very fair (like snow-​white kind of fair) and even though I ask for a medium/​dark tan, it always comes out looking natural. The solution they use makes you brown and NOT umpa lumpa shade, which is the problem with so many other salons. They’ve really nailed the color here. I don’t get my face sprayed but they gradually blend the color from body to face so it doesn’t look weird.
On to waxes. I always get a Brazilian, and the woman who used to do them was good (I don’t know her name) but during my last visit it was a new lady named Brianna, and she was awesome! Better than the last girl. Probably the fastest and least uncomfortable Brazilian I’ve ever gotten, and I’ve tried quite a number of salons/​waxing methods. On the same visit I got my hair colored. I had blonde (more like yellow) highlights that I wasn’t a fan of and had been thinking about covering up to get back to my all-​brown natural color. I asked to tone down the highlights to make the hair brown but still with dimension. They did an awesome job of completely covering up the messed up, grown-​out highlights, and my hair is shiny and natural-​looking now. However, it’s mostly uni-​colored without the lowlights I asked for but regardless it looks much better than before. Overall I’m very happy with the results. The total for brazilian + hair color came out to $ 115 which I think is reasonable.
Based on my experiences with airbrush tans, brazilian waxes, and hair coloring, I would definitely recommend Milvali.

I’ve been going to MilVali Salon for almost a year and a half. Jenny has been my stylist all that time and I’m still as pleased as the first day she and I met. She’s helped me through growing out my hair, helping me learn how to style my «new doo». She rocks and I would never consider going anywhere else. As always, the staff are friendly and helpful. My recommendation stands — I would refer all my friends to MilVali Salon.

I just had extensions by Jackie today! Omg! She’s so sweet, and works soooo quickly! I now have the long locks I was not blessed with! Thank you Jackie for such a great morning with your awesome personality and now I have an amazing head of gorgeous hair!!! I highly recommend Milvali and Jackie for extensions!

This is a long overdue review. First I give Milvali in San Francisco a 5 star review because of Deb the owner and all the other stylists there. But the Mil Valley location gets 1 star at best. This is why. On one occasion I wanted color on my roots and the hot shot male stylist gave me a hombre instead and turned my blond hair purple and blue. Then to fix it my hair was probably bleached which is very hard on porous blonde hair. I emailed the owner Jess and never even got a response. I should have contacted Deb because she promptly refunded me. So the net net is make the drive into San Francisco!

I get lash extensions on the regular at Noir Lash Lounge in Santa Monica and Vancouver so I know what a good lash job looks like. This was absolutely terrible. She kept getting glue in my eye, she ripped out at least 4 – 5 of my OWN lashes at the end because the glue had stuck my eye shut and then when I got to my car to inspect, I noticed there were still 2 false lashes stuck to my bottom lashes that I ended up having to remove on my own. Absolutely terrible experience. STAY AWAY.
Also note the number of 5 star reviews being written on this page by people who have never written any other Unilocal review. I smell something fishy.
