Up this way from time to time. Always something new and unusual!

I was walking past kim’s orchids and took a few pictures outside. I went into the store to inquire about some other plants and prices. The clerk was rude and dismissive. I asked for the owner, and she informed me that she was the owner. So not only is she rude and arrogant, she lies about who she is. I would never walk in that store again. I will buy my orchids from either Trader Joes or Costco. Good Price and excellent service

I love the positive, enthusiasm of Kim at Kim’s Orchids. She’s so helpful, cheerful and accommodating and the prices of her beautiful orchids are good also

Like a couple of the other reviewers, I stumbled upon this little shop at the Village at Corte Madera. They had a great selection of orchids but they seemed quite pricey, especially compared to the great deals I get at Trader Joe’s where I usually get my orchids. I was enjoying the momentary reprieve and admiring the orchids when I decided to snap a few photos. Once the shopkeeper noticed I was taking pictures she shooed me out of the store as fast as she could. I asked her about this and she said it was the owner’s policy. Now I have two reasons not to shop there – the overblown prices and the crappy customer service!

I was excited to discover an orchid shop in Marin. But my excitement dwindled quickly upon my experience of it. The shop is small and very crowded. But the orchids are EXTREMELY overpriced, in my opinion. Many of them were typical orchids, two or three put together in a container, nicely arranged and displayed. But $ 150 for an arrangement like that? Those type of orchids are available at the farmer’s markets for $ 10 a piece. Get three of them, group them together and save yourself $ 120! And the lady in the shop, who I assume was Kim, was not very friendly. When I bent over to look more closely at an orchid she yelled out, «Don’t touch!». A little over protective I think, especially because it would be nice to carefully examine all sides of an orchid if you are paying that much. There is a big sign as you walk in telling you not to touch the orchids. Orchids are not that delicate and I think people should be able to look carefully at them. But paying $ 100-$ 150 for some ordinary orchids that will be dead in a few weeks? Not for me.

I have been buying orchids from Mr. Kim for a couple of years. His prices are reasonable, and the quality and beauty of his plants are the best. The orchids I have bought from him last from weeks to many months(depending on the variety of orchid), and fill my office and home with beauty and joy.
