This man Steve is amazing and after everything we went thru with high desert it was a relief to find a bike shop owner who not only is honest he’s kind caring and truly loves bikes! My husband is a bike snob but I’m pretty new to this. Thank you Stevie for making my experience such a positive one and making me love bikes as much as you and my husband do!!! I will be returning soon to have my kids bikes overhauled so Sunday mornings will be devoted to family rides.

I rented a bicycle here for four days. The cost to rent a bicycle was $ 40(including tax) for about 4 days(half day Friday, full day Saturday, Sunday, and Monday). Bike rentals are $ 25 per day — and there is a special for Saturday rentals — rent Saturday, get Sunday and Monday for free(because they are closed). The bike I was given was about 25 years old. Mechanically, there were no issues. It wasn’t exactly what we’d call«high performance»… I think he should have given the bicycle to me to keep for $ 40(that’s about all it was worth)…I know bicycles… this bike was worth about $ 40. I guess it was OK in a pinch. If you’re looking for a bike rental on the cheap, Stevie’s is a good option. You might also want to try to buy a bike on before going to Stevie’s. If you want to rent a higher end ride(you’ll pay more obviously), head to Routes downtown ABQ.

I’ve been thinking about getting back into mountain biking, but looking at new bikes caused a serious case of sticker shock. We’re talking some serious samolions here and I already own a few bikes, so I couldn’t really justify the expense. A buddy recommended I check out this quirky little bike shop in Corrales. I dropped in on a whim one afternoon and meet Stevie and a couple of the bike mechanics there. Super nice guys. I told Stevie what I was looking for and he happened to have a nice used mountain bike for a fraction of the cost of a comparable new item. I took it for a quick spin in the lot and found that it fit me perfectly. Stevie and crew tuned it up, test rode it, and had it ready for me as promised. I noticed that they have quite a few used kids bikes, women’s bikes, road bikes, and whatnot. I believe they also offer new bikes from a few, select brands. They also do basic bike mechanic work and rentals.

They might be a little(or a lot) slower than some of the other bike shops in the area, but it’s well worth it. After taking my bike to High Desert and still having issues, I decided to try Stevie’s and am happy that I did. It took about a week to get it back, but Stevie was able to fix all of the little problems that I’ve had for about a year with my bike(bad spoke, loose hub, loose cassette, bad shifter cable, etc.) Plus, they cleaned my dirty old mountain bike and it looks brand new again(for now). To top it all off, everything was done at a very reasonable price and the guys are really friendly. It’s worth mentioning that they have a TON of mostly older bikes on consignment outside, if you’re looking for a cheap alternative to buying new. Make the short drive to Corrales and wait a few extra days for the repairs; it’s worth it.
