Vernon’s Bar-B-Que

Very cool dive bar. Sarah, the bartender, is very friendly. I try not to have high expectations for a dive bar, so this place fits the bill. Its a great chance to hangout with locals and get a true sense of Corpus Christi. Come here and enjoy the local vibe.

Our office orders breakfast from Vernons about once a week and the food is always great! Their delivery service is so convenient!

Been a frequent and relaxed patron to this bar for years and continue to be treated like a tourist. With the exception of Rusty and Matt, the remaining bar staff need lessons in customer service. NO smiles or friendly greetings and after a bulbous headed bartender with cheap tattoos switched off a 12 minute song because it was too long, my distaste has grown. Don’t expect to be remembered.

Thought about going in for lunch today — a Friday.- but changed our mind when a drunk guy stumbled out. Stunk bad

Vernon’s is divided into two sections: a restaurant that’s open for breakfast and lunch and a bar that’s open 7am to 2am. Its definitely a dive but a great neighborhood bar in the truest sense imaginable. Lots of interesting characters come to Vernon’s and the crowd is a diverse mix.
Prices are fair, they allow leashed dogs in the bar area (even have water bowls outside) but obviously no dogs in the restaurant. They have barbecue events fairly regularly and do «steak night» on Thursdays. Tuesday night is a big night here.
Free popcorn, free peanuts, an Internet jukebox, and bowling and golf video games help pass the time. The outside has wooden picnic tables and benches under a covered patio and is set up like a beer garden. There’s a big yard if you want some sun or look at the stars at night or have a smoke.
This is one of the oldest bars in Corpus Christi and has a lot of history. It won’t win awards for being high-​fashion but it’s a good place to have a few drinks and hang out.

This was simply the worst restaurant I think I have ever eaten at, so bad I have no faith in our health inspections. They need to shut this restaurant down, I walked out 1 min after I got my food, didn’t even want my money back. Shame on the owner of this restaurant. Money is cleaner then this place! I would eat off a toilet seat before ever eating here again! Are you kidding me on the star ratings for this place

Went for lunch. Had to wait over 30 minutes for our food — don’t go if you want to finish in less than an hour.

Great place to watch the Aggie games. A lot of character and characters. :)
