Nolan’s Original Poorboys

Great service and awsome food. Best shrimp around. And the croutons and cheese are the best. My buddy got a cattleman it’s like s steak poorboy. He said it was Awsome. Great atmosphere, layed back great place to eat for the whole family.

My husband & I have eaten here twice so far. We’ve ordered the fried fish, fried shrimp, fried oysters, chicken fried steak & broccoli. It was all very tasty. The service was also very good. No complaints here.

Average food but quick service. Steak and shrimp for $ 16.95. 8 oz with 3 shrimp. Not a bad value.

The oyster poor boy left a lot to be desired. The highlight was the sesame seed roll. Everything was fresh but oysters were not the highlight of this oyster poor boy. See my pic I posted. Five little pieces that were more breading than oyster. Very disappointing.

Not so HOT on the chef salad! Cold cuts on iceberg! Too much money for that. Also, my son got a kids shrimp plate for 7.99 and ONLY 2 shrimp! Wow, should’ve asked first! The only reason for 3 stars instead of 1 or 2 is because everybody working was on the ball and nice.

The only reason this place is getting 1 star is because It won’t let me leave zero. We had a shrimp poor boy, chicken fried steak, grilled salmon and a 8oz sirloin.
Shrimp poor boy tasted like they took frozen shrimp cocktail and deep fried it. Put it on a half ass toasted bun and store bought tarter sauce.
The 8oz sirloin ordered medium rare showed up well done and may have actually been a 4oz serving if we were lucky

Chicken fried steak is not what you expect when you get a chicken fried steak. Crappy gravy, over fried and just trash. The French fries were soggy, left in the warmer and were the most awful fries I’ve ever had.
In summary, I would rather eat 17 $ in day old McDonalds that I found in a dumpster than eat here again. Sorry Callahan, but this is not worth a trip.

Awesome food. We’re new too area and have eaten here twice now. We’ll be regulars for sure. Huge and I mean HUGE piece of carrot cake, nearly best i’ve ever had. Hubby had chic fried steak tonight. Freshly made, not frozen. Real gravy… Good bread
Laid back atmosphere. Nice servers. I had oyster Poorboy this time. Freshly breaded, hamburger steak last time and hubby had ribeye. You can’t go wrong here!!! Hope next visit they have chocolate cake, they were out tonight. Hubby finished dinner and raving abt how good it was.

Po Boys and catfish are quite delicious. Decent service. Yummy food. Definitely a staple when we visit the area!

Great food if your around Corpus Christi !!! Had the catfish and shrimp combo. The place gets busy but staff is great.

Not too bad. The chicken fried steaks were tender and cooked well. Just wish they would season it just a tad for more flavor. You just taste the meat and plain tasting flour batter. There is no table service at all. You go up and order and sit down.

Great food, great service, quick! I had the grilled salmon and the chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert. Would defintely come back!

Best home cooked meals around. Their chicken fried steak is hot and crispy on the outside and nice and tender on the inside. Even though they don’t wait the tables they are always there to check on you and take good care of you.

Nolan’s has some really great chicken fried steak – in fact, if you’re in Corpus looking for one, this is definitely the place to go. That being said, the service I had last time I visited was subpar to say the least. And when I say «service», I am simply referring to the fiasco when I was ordering at the counter. The girl was either tired or just not interested in paying attention, but I had to repeat my order of «A chicken fried steak with a salad with ranch» at least 4 times – and it wasn’t because it was busy or loud in the restaurant. The food is pretty good, I just hope that on my next visit the ordering process goes more smoothly.

Order at the counter, seat yourself. Your food always arrives hot and frest, great crab stuffed jalapenos and yummy po boys! Good southern comfort food and they serve beer and wine too!
