Service was terribly slow, food was NOT at all tasteful, and it did not have a beachy atmosphere. This place is overrated and does not have authentic seafood. Would not recommend this place to out of towners if looking for good seafood!

Ok place, the food was average. 3 stars due to service. The waiter«forgot» to put our food order in. We waited 2.5 hrs to get food after the 45 min wait to be seated. The manager seemed sheepish about it and took 35 $ off our 100 $ bill. Spend your money somewhere else unless you like tourists traps.

Phil was awesome! Calamari salad is to die for. Excellent service, the food is worth twice as much as I paid for. Most romantic sunset location. Server Sean was so accommodating and the live music on Thursday is Austin-quality. If you love your girlfriend or wife you will bring her here.

Service was swift and friendly, and not much of a wait even at peak dinner hours. However, aside from those two mildly redeeming qualities, the food is terrible. The wife had fried shrimp and I had the blackened Mahi Mahi at the server’s suggestion. The shrimp were greasy and too battered and the Mahi Mahi was so salty it was inedible. I can see how the place might be alright for a few beers and a nice sunset, but I wouldn’t eat here again.

I got the crab stuffed flounder and my husband got the stuffed chicken both were amazing. We got the asparagus with it and they only gave us 4 pieces but we had plenty of food to fill us up. We loved our waiter and the atmosphere. We drove 45 min to get there and we felt that it was worth it but we are used to driving a lot.

My family visited Doc’s for dinner during our visit to Corpus Christi in late May. We had a short wait on a Sunday evening but the wait wasn’t as bad as at other nearby restaurants. My son and I ordered the crab stuffed flounder. Both dishes were cooked well with flaky fish and flavorful crab stuffing. The amount of butter was a little excessive. My wife had a chicken and shrimp dish which she enjoyed. The seafood salad appetizer was excellent. The margaritas were good but seemed a little weak. The view of the water outside the restaurant was pleasant and the service was efficient. Definitely worth a visit.

Went here with my family last night and loved it. The wait was long(about an hour), but when we did finally get seated everything went well from there. My parents had been here the night before and had said their cocktails were kind of weak, but the Mai Tais my husband and I ordered were awesome. I could feel it on the first sip! I think it might depend on who’s tending bar, and I bet they brought out their best last night because it was the start of Memorial Day weekend. I had the fried fish sandwich which was great, and their fries are delicious. We sat outside and had a great view of the sunset over the water. They had live music playing Johnny Cash songs and other great stuff. Great way to kick off a vacation!

We had a lovely view of Laguna Madre, a great wait person. Margaritas were good, guacamole crab appetizer was fantastic and our entrees were the bomb. Flounder stuffed with crab and Mahi with shrimp was fabulous

Went there for a couple of drinks and ordered crab cakes to go. I would recommend the Padre island as an alcoholic beverage, it’s a tad fruity but strong. The crab cake was okay, I didn’t like the bread crumb around it, the inside was good though. It was made with fresh crab meat. The service was decent, the bartender was nice. The view was very nice, if your lucky, you can see dolphins too. :) There is an upstair and downstairs, the upstairs is where you dine and drink comfortably, the downstairs is more of a bar area with picnic tables. Enjoy!

We managed to get seats outside and there is no better place to be on a sunny day — that’s assuming you sit with your back to the bridge which does ruin the view otherwise. We came at a weird time between lunch and dinner so I will cut them some slack but they still lose a star for service and another for food. Our waitress had just come on shift and it showed, it took a while for her to realize we were in her section so it took ages to order drinks. She didn’t know what the specials were and then took way too long getting our drinks and just generally wasn’t very attentive throughout although nice enough when we did get hold of her. Being landlocked in Austin I was looking forward to some fresh seafood but I was really disappointed in the crab cakes which tasted old and dry. I had to smother them in tartar sauce to lubricate them enough to get down my throat! We also had the fish sandwich at our table which again just didn’t taste freshly caught as it should have. The other members of our group had some of the daily specials which did look and taste better — the scallops with shrimp over rice and the black rock fish. All in all I thought the menu was a bit uninspiring and very over priced, I would literally only come back here for the venue and views as the food and service were lacking

We went there with 2 other couples on Saturday evening. When we were seated, they immediately placed a water bottle in front of each person. Unbeknownst to us, we were being charged $ 1.00 per bottle of water. Several of us didn’t even open our bottle and had no intention of drinking water. The food was mediocre, at best. Don’t let the location fool you, we don’t think any of the food was local. The service was O.K. but our empty plates were never removed. If you’re a tourist and want a nice view, and don’t care if all of your food comes from a Sysco truck, this is the place for you.

This is the best restaurant in Corpus Christi, Texas. Go there, watch the water, eat, and relax.

Jus not impressed. Prices were very expensive Nd the food was really not that super. I had coconut shrimp and they used what appeared to be canned pineapple. Nothing we had was super amazing. Great view but that’s about it. In addition, there is only a lunch menu in the winter. So prepare to pay a ton for lunch. Not worth it

Never been here but always saw it as I drive to the island from Corp. Christi. Finally decided to take a chance and it was great! I ordered the stuff chicken with rosemary potatoes. Chicken was stuffed with crawfish, cheese, and bacon! It was really delicious! I also ordered a bowl of clam chowder. Though it could’ve been better, it wasn’t really bad. But what makes your meal even more tasteful is the view you have while having your meal. Truly nice to feel the the breeze from the water. I will come here again.

Great place to get fresh seafood! I had tilapia w/Baja avocado sauce with fresh pico de gallo… very good. However, it had an uncomfortable atmosphere even though we have a good time it was very humid and extremely loud and the service was mediocre.

The food is on point delicious. I had Docs Stuffed Chicken(as always) and it was succulent delicious. My salad was good w tasty honey mustard. The croutons were food service issue. The bread and butter were better than downtown. The frozen margarita was triple AAA plus perfect! The server lacked. But we did eventually get everything we asked for and ate it right up. Kudos to bus boy who brought us a fan to cool us down as Mexico fires were bad that day and it was sunny, hot, and humid. Eight adults for 2pm lunch, 7 ordered entrees, 1 soup and salad, 4 bar drinks, 2 beers, no apps, no dessert, bill was $ 220. We had a good time. The atmosphere is priceless if you can stand the heat of day. Men’s restroom was the cleanest I ever seen. We will return.

Meh… Get seated… wait, wait, finally I just start looking around as all the waiters pass by. Actually ready to get up and leave when a young man comes and helps me. Reads off the specials… «what’s the fish Veracruz?» I don’t know… his response. Long pregnant pause… Ok, just give me the Tuna. Tuna was tasty, large tendon running thru the middle which made most of the fish inedible. Check finally comes… «did you figure out what the Veracruz was?» No. Oh well…

This place was highly recommended to us by our hotel manager AND the locals, so we decided to check it out. We arrived around 7:30pm and the wait was an hour long. This is supposedly the busy time because of the sunset view of the bay from the restaurant. We didn’t actually get a table until 8:30 or so, long after the sun had set. We actually did secure a seat right by the bay, but it was dark outside and we couldn’t fully enjoy it. :(. We had the fried mushrooms appetizer, but it wasn’t anything to write home about — it was just fried mushrooms. I ordered the tilapia with shrimp cream sauce and it was… okay. The Tilapia was grilled but it was really watery and a bit mushy. The sauce was kind of bland, so it didn’t give it any real kick. I had this accompanied by Rosemary potatoes, which were a bit oily, but had much more flavor than the fish. Again, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t worth the 20 dollars I inevitably paid. Service was amazing and our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The view of the bay(I imagine) from our seat was great, had it been day, perhaps better. However, I think the price of the food is a bit much for average tasting meals. It seems that people pay a lot more for the view than the food.

This place is kind of a ritual for us. Perhaps better phrased as an excuse for us… As in we use this place for an excuse to hop in the convertible and take a fun run down to Corpus /Port Aransas. The food is very good, but I’m sure we can all say we’ve had better somewhere. What can’t be beat though is eating outside on the veranda with the sun setting in the background and the semi casual feel of the whole place with the live music playing in the background. We found this on our very first trip to San Antonio five years ago when we came for a job interview and it’s a good part of the reason we chose to move to Texas on that trip. We’ve come many times since and never had a bad meal. Some waiters have been better than others, but that’s the same anywhere. The only drawback tonight was that they didn’t have the snow crab. The waiter made it sound like they never have had it, but I know he needs to be drug tested because we’ve loved it here many times and others have raved about it in their reviews.(Hint, if you’re the management and reading this, get it back!)

Can’t beat the location or the atmosphere. Ordered flounder blackened. I grew up on the back deck of a shrimp boat in summers. I know flounder. It was the real thing. Overall tasty, but sparse on blackening spice and seemed more like a pan seared. Was a bit oily. Served with a lobster cream sauce. Buttery, rich, thick, and oily. Good flavor. Potatoes were ok if you like oily potatoes. Salad was generic. Nothing stood out food wise. Go for the atmosphere. Seems most of my plate was just oily.
