Hobie Surf Shop

Jawohl, so stelle ich mir einen Surf Shop vor, in dem sich Surfer wohlfühlen und einkleiden.
Tolle Klamotten und moderate Preise.
Gute Auswahl von shirts, flipflops, shorts und anderen stuff.
Sehr freundliche Crew und super am East Coast Hwy gelegen.
Ich komme wieder!

Nice surf shop. Tons of clothes, board shorts swim suits and even limited outdoor equipment. Not sure if this is a facory owned location or a dealer as they sell a lot of brands

I love surf shops. This is a nice one. Much smaller than some of the others, but I love the clothing they carry. The location is great, on PCH in CDM. Keep in mind this clothing I love in this store in THIS location is expensive!!!
The boys working in the shop are friendly. Why are these surfer kids so naturally good looking? My daughters don’t mind.
I buy my boards used, so I can’t comment on that — except to say they are certainly pretty.
Pretty clothes, pretty boards, pretty people. Worth a stop? Probably.

This is a pretty decent fashion surf shop. There is much more of an emphasis on surfing clothes than on boards and other things for surfing but they do have a fairly good selection and variety.

Great location in the middle of Corona Del Mar. However, although they do sell boards, it’s more of a place for higher priced surf clothing that you can definitely find for less elsewhere. Having said that, the helpfulness of the staff, and the great layout of the store is probably worth something.

WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER BUY A HOBIE SURFBOARD (or) SHOP THERE
My recent board order —
1. The custom board order did not begin fabrication for 7 weeks because they forgot to start it.
2. No one asked if I wanted to cancel the order and refund my deposit which was 60% of the board’s price
3. 2^nd ETA also late — total order time I could have had another company make 3 boards.
4. The retail store gave me their assurance that management and ownership would rectify the horrible transaction; instead both called me and were rude, condescending, and laughed at me. They decided that they would resolve this issue by «allowing me» to still purchase the board. This came from Mark Johnson who supposedly is part owner; it seemed he thought the whole situation was hilarious and took the opportunity to make it significantly worse. He said he was personally looking forward to my review… I hope he gets his chance to see it.
5. The CUSTOM BOARD arrived with the wrong measurements and wrong illustrations!
6. NO FINS were provided WHICH I HAD TO PURCHASE (fins were included in the price!!!)
7. NO LEASH STRING!
8. After forgetting to make the board they made sure the second attempt was made without the personalization’s on the order form so that it could be sold in their retail store and be sold to anyone had I decided not to buy it — regardless of the fact that I never got upset with them at any point of the transaction (well, until delivery).
9. Trying to increase the price of the board by 30% at completion… literally demanded that I send them THEIR OWN written price and even further tried to state that it was in error… for a board that they delivered to the store finless, leash stringless, 7 weeks late and contingent that management and ownership call me and treat me like crap by laughing at my concerns, being condescending, and making a rude call to a customer — who does that? Mark Johnson, part owner does that.
EVEN worse, the employees in the shop glumly admitted that the behavior by Ownership is standard and not the exception… Even the employees are embarrassed.
You may not experience all of this buying a hoodie in the shop but ask yourself if you want to support a company run by people that would gladly screw you and laugh directly in your face.
