Very frustrated with this store location. We were traveling on I80 from Des Moines to Muscatine. I needed to exchange a pair of defective running pants so I called this store 3 times within 15 or 20 minutes with no answer. I originally purchased from the Iowa City store but was trying to save some time by checking to see if this location had the pants. So with no answer we stopped anyway. There was an older gentleman working who was helping 1 customer. He did not greet us but after several minutes asked us if we needed help. We explained that we had called to avoid an unnecessary stop and he stated«sorry I have been busy». He then offered to call the Iowa City location to see if they had the pants… which they did. He was nice to call but didn’t care that he didn’t answer the 3 phone calls. I understand that he was assisting a customer but I am also a customer whom is calling. So we drove to the Iowa City location and exchanged the pants no problem. We will not be returning to this location secondary to poor customer service and much smaller section. Lesson learned just drive the extra 15 minutes.

The staff here are always helpful and good. We had an especially good experience recently with a return and really appreciated it. Running Wild is definitely the only place we go to get sneakers.

This is a specialty store, but it’s okay to go in knowing that you don’t know what you want. They’ll help you find the right shoe for your particular foot and how you run. You’ll try it on, they’ll watch you run, look at the wear pattern on your old shoe, and make a recommendation. It’s more expensive, but once you experience a shoe that fits right, you’ll see that it was worth it. 10% student discount.
