Culver’s Frozen Custard

This location was kind of dirty and our order was taken incorrectly. We had to wait a substantial amount of time in order to get her order.

Culver’s is a Midwest chain specializing in The Butter Burger. The Butter Burger only refers to the fact that the bun is buttered and then grilled.
The menu offers much more than just burgers, though. Reubens, patty melts, fried fish and chicken are also available.
Culver’s offers custard instead of ice cream, which just means a little more butterfat in it, but it is much creamier and rich than ice cream. You can add items to it or eat it plain. There is also a flavor of the day offering.
This location offers a clean experience with friendly help right off Interstate 80.

I love the food at Culvers, but the service at this one was super slow.
Just not managed very well.
Examples:
1 person doing all the ice cream products, and she is making them, but not actually serving them, so she has about 10 made, but no one is actually getting their order.
When super busy, this is a bad time to have someone clean the restroom. For one thing, they need the help elsewhere. For another thing, people are needing to use the bathroom, and having someone choose that time to clean it is not smart.
There is no structure on how to order. Is there one line splitting to 2 registers, or is it 2 lines?
I like Culvers, but this one is worth skipping.

This is the Midwest answer to In and Out and Five Guys, based out of Wisconsin this is some delicious food right out of dairyland. I’ve been to Wisconsin several times and they do know how to make their burgers up there!
The menu is pretty large and everything is made to order, so expect a little wait on your food. I usually get the double burger, they call them butter burgers I think that’s their little extra touch that makes them so good. You can add toppings and your cheese of choice when all is done you do have a decent size burger that is delicious.
Their cheese curds are good you should get them if you are in the mood for a change of pace item. The fries are also a little underwhelming, I really think they should reboot these and try for a better quality fry.
The custard is amazing, rich, creamy, great flavor, and a perfect desert to end your meal. This place has all the Wisconsin classics, that state knows how to make comfort food the right way and Culver’s delivers on carrying that reputation.

I’ve never been to culvers before, so I didn’t know what I was in for. I wasn’t a big fan. The service was friendly and the speed of service was good, but the fold really wasn’t for me. Bland, dry burgers and soggy old fries. Not sure if it’s just this location, or just the whole chain, but I definitely won’t be coming back.

What’s up with offering «cheese curds» when they are actually mini mozzarella sticks served with marinara sauce? This Wisconsin girls wants what the menu promises!
