BIG improvement now that they have new owners. Doubled tastes great, my only negative is that they run low on food at times.

Very tasty food and very friendly person running the front of house. Limited veg options but the veg roti came with pumpkin, potato and chickpeas and it was damn good! The friendly vibe totally adds to the pleasure of eating here. The Mauby drink, homemade, was also awesome!

New owners. Priya now OPEN7 days a week. I do not think I will be coming hete anymore now that it has changed hands(new ownership). Anyway, it is good to know Priya Trinidadian and Tobagan restaurant no longer closed Mondays.

Priya’s is under new ownership and the food that is being made from the bew owners is tasty, succulent and delicious. I had a goat roti with paratha and it was one of the best that I’ve had since living in Florida for 26 years. Their doubles are also very good. It reminds me of the doubles back in Trinidad. Everything is made to oder, so please call ahead or be prepared to wait 10 to 15 minutes for your order, depending on how busy they are. Their hours are from 10 am to 10 pm. Please give them a try. You will love them as much as my family and myself.

This place is a hidden gem that looks like it could be questionable but when you eat the food and get some of that roti you will have a whole new outlook. I have been going here a few times a year for the past few years. They never disappoint.

Thursday 5pm. Ordered Doubles app and Curry Goat with rice & peas. Doubles earned 4 stars, Goat entrée portion was small and very dry. Food was hot and seasoned well, but missed the mark. I have a close Trinidadian friend who cooks this exact meal and it’s far superior to what this place is serving. Will not return nor recommend.

Had lunch at Priya’s today and the food was delicious. The food was fresh and tasty with lots of authentic spices. If I could rate the dhal puri I would give it a 6 star as 5 doesn’t do justice. This was my first time back after 3 years and I will be back soon.

Wow! What a find. The food is killer, loaded with flavor and served fresh and piping hot. I came in and the restaurant was empty but they seem to do a lot of take out. My food took about 15 min to make so I know it was made from scratch. It’s really, really, good! The chicken curry was very tender and flavorful and the pieces are big and loaded with meat. The aloo(potato curry) was soft and flavorful and really went well with the roti. Speaking of the roti, this has got to be the softest and most delicious roti I’ve had so far. The daal and rice was very good, but a tad too salty(my only reason for not giving 5 stars) however it goes really well with the homemade spicy sauce they have on the table. The portions are also huge so if you get what I goit, you get an entire carton of rice and daal plus my entrée and roti. I wasn’t able to finish it all, so it’s definitely worth the money(my entire meal came to 12 bucks which is awesome! Come hungry because you will leave stuffed!

Very authentic roti shop. The dhalphories were warm, moist and very fresh. The choice of vegetables however was a little meagre(no bhaji, pumpkin etc), but did include the obligatory aloo and chana. I will try the aloo pie and doubles the next time. On this particular day they were out of Carib(…WHAT, thats like a rum shop out of Old Oak!), but seeing it was the day after carnival, that was almost to be expected. I certainly will be going back.

Very tasty food. I was with a couple of people and we all agreed that the food was extremely tasty. The chicken soup was unlike any chicken soup I’ve ever tasted. The dumplings in the soup were very yummy. The goat roti was beyond delicious. It was just amazing. I would actually just eat that everyday of my life and be happy. Also I must speak to the rice and peas. Nom Nom Nom. You can’t go wrong. So good!

I went back to this place and was very disappointed with the curry chicken I had ordered. The portion was small and the curry was watery. Now that I know how to make my own, I just buy the roti shells — very good.

I have wanted to try Roti for awhile, and those who know seem to speak of Priyas with high praise, and it is relatively close to my house. I was feeling a little under the weather with some sort of cold or allergy or something so I figured something with a little spice may help. I arrived late at lunch time on a Saturday and ordered one boneless chicken roti and one shrimp roti. Since I was ordering to go I took Sean M’s advice and got both unwrapped because I didn’t want any sogginess issues from the drive home. My order took about 10 minutes to make and the staff was helpful answering my questions as was generally unfamiliar with this type of cuisine. I got home and started eating. My brother and I split the shirmp and chicken between the two of us so I got to try both. They were similarly seasoned with a little kick, but not too much spice(I don’t handle spicy very well and these were fine fore me). Both proteins were quite good, though I liked the shrimp a little more as the chicken was a little dry. Getting the bone in chicken may resolve the dryness issue but it would also be more work. The potatoes that come on the side were quite delicious and the sauce that covered everything was great for dipping excess«bread» in. I was given the choice between a basic roti and a chick pea roti. I went with the chick pea as it sounded more exciting, and it was good, but a little messy as you kind of end up with chick pea dust everywhere. I look forward to trying the more basic roti also. Since this was my first roti ever I didn’t want to go with five stars because I have absolutely no basis for comparison, but I will definitely keep Priyas in mind when I am looking for a more exotic lunch or dinner option. It was delicious and reasonably priced.

I have never tries this type of food and I was SOPLEASANTLYSURPRISED at how absolutely delicious it is! I had the boneless chicken curry roti wrap and some homemade sorrel to drink– the flavored were intense and so unexpected– I highly recommend you try this place! I always try to find local non-chain restaurants to try when I am out of town– this one ranks as one of the best decisions I have made!

I’m sorry for driving past this place so many times but never going in… Over a 2 day span, I enjoyed 4 different dishes: chicken curry, shrimp curry, stewed duck and curry goat. I loved each of them! This is THEBEST roti I’ve ever had. For those of you who are unfamiliar with roti, it’s similar to Indian naan and used kind of like a wrap; you put your meat in the roti(bread) and eat it that way. Every dish was spiced to perfection, not bland at all but not overly spicy. I tried one dish with rice and peas, the rice was tender and flavorful as well. A family owned business is usually pleasant and this place no exception. The lady who works the counter is so friendly and helpful. There were 2 people who came in to order, they were obviously unfamiliar with roti but eager to try, so the very nice lady working the counter(I forgot to ask for her name) guided them through the ordering process with a smile. The décor is basic, no frills but clean. What they lack in interior decorating skills they certainly make up for with wonderful home made food and excellent service. Seriously, I peeked into the kitchen while I was waiting for my order and saw Nana back there stirring a pot! Thank you Sean M. for bringing this gem to my attention, you’ll see me here often.

The first time my lips pressed against the lips of a seductive blonde Latin American woman, I was transplanted in the spirit to the edge of The Auyantepui Mountains amid the downpouring of Angel Falls. Like wise, when I took the first bite of Priyas boneless chicken roti, I was transported into an Antilles paradise. I was taken by the power of palatial satisfaction to the mysterious mist shrouded Blue Mountains. Unlike LC Roti or Joys, Priyas is not terrorizing the civilized with loud booming unintelligible music or sub-par rotis. Nor do they have unrefined ragamuffin’s working or patronizing the restaurant. Priyas is a pleasant quiet family owned very clean Trinidadian restaurant. I totally felt at ease ordering and eating at Priyas. Though Priyas is a good distance from South Broward where I reside, I don’t mind the long drive for really good authentic ethnic food. I’ve had the boneless chicken roti twice at Priyas. Both times the roti was huge juicy & rich with Trinidadian curry & spices. I can say with confidence that this is the best roti I’ve had in South Florida. RATING5.0STARS Jamaican sorrel is one of my favorite beverages, periodically I make 2 liters of it for myself. So when I saw that Priyas had in-house made Trinidian sorrel I was very eager to try it for the first time. Let me tell you the sorrel was delicious, it had an unique mellow spiced flavor. It was totally different from the Jamaican sorrel, but delicious and refreshing in its own right! RATING5.0STARS NOTE: — If you order the shrimp roti, its cooked to order and it comes out pipping hot. It’s better to order it unwrapped or the heat of shrimp/potatoes/curry sauce will start to break apart the roti bread, making it impossible to eat.

Authentic and delicious, need i say more? In south florida where good West Indian restaurants are few and far between this one takes the cake, it’s worth the trip and the wait for the food, trust me! You will never be disappointed here.

I frequent this place a few times a month and my experience is always positive. The chicken roti is what I typically get, along with a juice of some sort. Consistency has been spot on, and the staff has always been friendly. I recommend this place :) Also, the roti is delicious reheated in the oven the next day :)
