This café/restaurant is located in the top level and back corner of Neiman Marcus. And it should stay there. The food was not that good and the sauces that they use leave a bad after taste in the mouth. If you order any dish make sure you know what your getting because you might be surprised and get something unexpected.

Great food and service. Highly recommend the place. Nestled in the beautiful NM in the home décor section, this place is a nice secluded option with great lunch items. The soups, piping hot popover rolls and the salads, are some of my favorite items in the menu. Sit outside and finish your meal with the delectable mouse and a wonderful espresso. The wait staff are polite and attentive, which makes it even a better experience.

Such a adorable cute little place. This little restaurant is inside Neiman Marcus and it has such a nice seating area outside on the 3rd floor, I loved it you have a awesome view of most of merrick park. They give you this yummy weird shaped bread with chicken broth it’s so yummy super delicious the bread is toasty on the outside and soft in the inside . The chicken broth taste like you are having chicken soup just do good. The waitress we had was very nice and very kind. She was very helpful on telling us what was really good on the menu. As a appetizer we ordered the tropical chips and it brought 4 different dips super good all of them and spicy. The cookies in a box OMG !!! So deliciously scrumptious good, wow just loved them. I enjoyed pretty much everything of this super cute place from the food to the seating. My only issue the latte, it was not to my liking. I really didn’t enjoy it at all. So I had to give 4 breezy easy pretty stars

I think the food is pretty meh for the price… I saw fish tacos with Mahi on the menu for $ 20 bucks but I couldn’t justify paying that kind of price for fish tacos so I ordered the Lobster ravioli. The dish came with about 5 ravioli which was decent but I kept biting on some crunchy shell in my food. The kids each had a very basic pasta one with red sauce and one with only butter and cheese for $ 10 each. My mother had the grouper sandwich with slaw but she said the slaw just tasted like plain old cabbage and the yuca fries we’re good but almost identical to the ones you get at Pollo Tropical. I prefer the food at Nordstrom’s Bistro. On the plus side my wine was good. All in all, for the price I would just expect the food to be less basic and better tasting.

Underwhelming experience. If you are in Merrick Park and want to pay a high price for lunch, I definitely recommend Nordstrom Bistro over Mariposa. There is no comparison between the two. I went there for the first time today and I was not impressed by the quality of the food, the slow speed in which we were served, nor the outrageously high prices for said food. Worst of all was the desert. If you want an amazing bread pudding, go to Nordstrom. I will not be returning to Mariposa. Lunch for two came out to $ 80 and we ordered fish tacos and a burger. The tacos were decent, the burger looked very meh. All in all, not worth the price or time it took for lunch(1.5 hours).

A lovely place if you visit Coral Gables. It is not cheap but worth the coulinary experience. They serve a nice crossaint bread and the service is superb. All the dishes that we ordered were nice and were very tasty. The view to the open mall is nice and definately a nice place to dine.

I’m giving Mariposa a 3 because it’s a bit pricy. Don’t get me wrong, I really love this place but prepare to spend about $ 40.00 to $ 50.00 for lunch. They give you a delicious shot of chicken conssome and a glorious puffy, heavenly goodness which they call ‘bread’ with strawberry butter. OOOOMYYYY. This could be the reason why a really love this place. :) One of my favorite things is the crab salad and the cake in a cup. But Remember that I warned you about getting too creative with your drinks and meals(like I do) because you might just have to work overtime to pay that bill. ;)

I’ve been here many times for lunch and it’s consistently great. Good service and food consistently excellent. Came here for dinner and the popovers were hot and fresh! We came here once before for dinner and the popovers were leftovers but Not tonight! Popovers are excellent! Great wine list and good drinks. All dishes are great. It’s quiet and perfect. We will b back!!!

Mariposa has always been a solid place for lunch, especially when shopping at Merrick. You can think of it as a higher end Nordstrom Bistro. The food is generally good but not out of this world. The bread with strawberry butter as well as the consommé are one of my favorite aspects of Mariposa. For appetizer, we ordered the tuna tartar and crab cakes. Tuna was plain chopped tuna and flavorless(but very fresh) and the crab cakes were tasty but quite small(for $ 17 each!?). As for the entrées, we ordered the crab salad(nice, light, and lovely dish) and the steak frites(smallish portion but tasty, and stale truffle fries). It was ok. As for desserts, they’re quite wonderful. The apple tart was our favorite. The cake in a jar and carrot cake were also quite good. Service was good but not great. We were often left needing water and poured our own wine. Overall impression is that it’s quite expensive for what it is. We felt kind of jipped.

Mariposa is superb. I fell in love with it around 5 years ago, the food is amazing. It is consistently excellent. The manager Michael Hyatt is a true professional and even though not the chef he is in fact an amazing chef. Your every request is satisfied.

I was initially going to give this place four stars, but my wife and I got the worse diarrhea moments after eating there. I had the lobster bisque(couldn’t find any actual lobster), which was tasty and I had the fish tacos which weren’t that good. I would recommend earls for fish tacos, although they recently changed the fish they use. Needless to say, I will not be coming back here, they are overpriced but under deliver and you may end up stuck in the toilet after you eat there. Stay away unless you just want to go for a coffee and cookies.

Hidden gem. This place gets pretty busy. The food that I ordered was great. I specially enjoyed being able to see my nutritional specs. I had the quinoa and shrimp salad which was good and my husband had the lobster bisque and mahi tacos which he didn’t quite think were all that great. I personally enjoyed my meal and the best was the chocolate chip cookies I had at the end. To die for! However, they were not presented in a jewelry box and did not come with recipe. O well.

Very good food and service, I have been coming here for the past 10 years on and off and it is pretty consistent, specially if you are lucky enough to have Mr. Hyatt as a server, he is been there for over 8 years and provides a very pleasant experience with the service . He even comped desert. The bread and the consommé before the meal ads a special unique touch . The full bar is also very well ran. Coming back for sure.

Who knew that there is a gem hidden at the top level of Neiman Marcus? The outdoor terrace overlooking the Spanish tile roofs of Merrick Park makes you feel like you’re having lunch in the Mediterranean. Service is great — quick and friendly and the place feels almost tranquil. The menu is simple, with a focus on seafood and healthy dishes. Calory counts are included on the menu. The grilled mahi tacos were delicious and fresh, as was the BBQ shrimp wrap. Since the fare is relatively light, you will have room to try one of their homemade desserts. Our waiter recommended the guava bread pudding which was moist and delicious. Stay away from the coffee, ours was weak and terrible.

This was one of the few higher rated restaurants in the area so we decided to stop by for a late lunch. We were seated outside which was nice except at one point there were a bunch of birds staring at us trying to pick up scraps. The view was decent and they had fans up top in case it gets too warm. The food was really disappointing. I had the tropical chips and dip as well as the lump crab salad. Both were tasteless. The salad didn’t come together very well and the dips were bland. My significant other said that the salad was okay and the crab tasted fresh so maybe it’s just me being picky. They had one waiter outside and he seemed really rushed. The only thing I really enjoyed was the little mint chocolates they gave at the end.

This hidden gem is tucked away on the third floor of NM. If you blink, you’ll miss it! Walked in during the lunch rush and sat inside. The waiter was extremely attentive and friendly! He paid attention to every detail on our orders and was always ready with a refill. I ordered the veggie wrap and it was delicious! The bread and strawberry butter they serve right before your meal is soooo yummy! I could die happy with that butter! Haha. Portions were large(to me anyway)… So, I recommend possibly sharing, if you want. For dessert I ordered the cookie box, which comes with five warm chocolate chip cookies ready to go & a recipe to make them at home in the box! Perfect ending to a great lunch! Loved the ambience, the service, and the food! I’ll be back again soon! :)

Nice option for lunch in Merrick Park. I had heard some stories that this is very popular with the purple-haired old lady crowd, and to a certain extent that is true; however, the crowd is diverse and not bad at all. Atmosphere, especially overlooking the trees and blue sky on the patio doesn’t get much better; however, on the wknd, there is also a band playing on the patio, and the music can be pretty loud… not a fan of that. Food was very tasty. Portions were a little on the smallish side but not too bad. The popover followed by the chicken broth was very unique and a nice touch. Service was OK. Not bad or great either. Definitely worth checking out.

I absolutely love the Village of Merrick Park. It’s like a Bal-Harbour-esque outdoor shopping place with nice high end stores(Burberry, Neiman Marcus) and also cute, boutique-y stores(such as 100% Lino). But this review is for Mariposa, which is the restaurant of Neiman Marcus. My parents and I decided to head over there for a late lunch and it was packed! Mariposa is considered one of the few high-end restaurants in the Village so no wonder. Because it was raining heavily, we were only offered outdoor seating(which my parents and I really wanted!) But, of course we got a seat right by the doors that opened and closed — it was uncomfortable because every time the door opened, a big gush of cold air would blow right on the table. If this annoys you(as much as it did for me), than ask to be seated away from the door! Salads here are BIG! I could hardly finish mine(FYI!). I remember this being done at other Mariposa locations as well: we were served complimentary soup(yum!) and soft and fresh popovers at the start of the meal. I think this is a very nice place to have a «refined» lunch. Nothing beats champagne and a salad;)
