Iron Sushi

Decent food for the price. Place is small and not much decorations. I taste the Tofu Teriyaki. A delicatessen for vegans. Nothing extraordinary but good. What else do you expect from a place with plastic dishes?

Ehh… can’t complain the price is good for not so high quality sushi… Doesn’t taste that bad either, i usually come here to pick up the amigo platter brings a variety of sushi enough for 3 people and it’s only 21.
Eating there is probably the chilliest thing ever, it’s never packed very small place… They have beers and cool games to choose from as well.

The only reason im not giving iron sushi a 5 star is because They’re seriously in need of new staff. The young girl that works as cashier is extremely lazy i had to have the guy who cleans help me out with most of my order. I always order to go and they’re always quick and since im vegan they have so many options for so cheap. I feel like the sushi beats the price its delicious !!! One time i went at 11:30am since they were supposed to be open and the girl came in at 1pm !! And nobody else could take my order because «no one else knew how to work the register». Please train your staff to do everything if the teenage girl is lazy as hell. The other young man is extremely rude i called in to add something to my order and he was just like «ok bye bye bye» trying to get me away as fast as possible. I always have good experiences with the asian lady shes super attentive. A perfect example of what everyone there should be like.

I really like Iron Sushi; they’re a nice alternative for Friday lunches at the office.
This particular Iron Sushi is the closest to my job. We occasionally order from there; today was one of those occasions. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl with a side of miso soup. My coworkers ordered edamame, edamame shuimai, a vegetable roll, beef teriyaki, and tuna maki.
Everyone was pleased. I enjoyed my lunch; I even have leftovers for dinner. As for my coworkers, one is a vegan, so this is a great place as there are things she can eat; the other loves the tuna maki and considers it his «tried and true.»
All in all, four stars if only because delivery sometimes takes forever.

I love this place! My husband and I eat here roughly once a week. The fish always tastes fresh and delicious. Amazing service for the most part and outdoor seating! Fantastic neighborhood restaurant.

When you get the right sushi chef, this place is amazing. Agung is his name and sushi is his game! The food is great. Nothing fancy but it doesn’t have to be. I recommend having Agung prepare whatever he thinks. We just had 6 different sushis and each one was special all for only $ 50!!! Amazing. I recommend eating in and not ordering from the reviews I’ve read.

The sushi is great and cheap! I’ve been here a couple of times and have not been disappointed for the price!

The food’s pretty good. But they stop delivering long before they close which is not indicated on their menu and has not happened to me before tonight. Will think twice next time.

I’m so confused by the other reviews. I’m a regular at iron sushi and everyone is so nice, it’s small and cozy. By far, the quality and prices of the sushi is better than most big sushi places like sushi maki. Love this place so much!

I was surprised to have seen the location so empty and with barely any customers, but after ordering the sushi I understand why. The sushi was some of the worst I’ve had, only comparable to ordering sushi at a gas station. It was slimy looking and had no flavor. Only ate 2 pieces and threw the rest away. Never eating there again.

If you wanna eat by 1:00pm, make sure to order your delivery at no later than 10:15 AM!!! Food quality ok.

Came here to make people aware and to no surprise found it only has 2.5 stars. Actually I am a bit surprised that it didn’t have less. I placed an order from here to a salon where another order had been placed. The driver brings recipes for both orders and to my mistake, I sign and he’s set free. When I peak, there is one bag with the first order and not mine… And my signed receipt in this man’s pocket.
It’s an honest mistake and I call to explain. I’m placed on hold until the driver made it back and gets on the phone defensively saying he brought it all. In the background the sous chef is admitting to having made only one of my two rolls and the driver is saying he packed it all… I attempt to move on from their conflicting stories and get my point across when the driver’s voice escalates and says he’s coming back to check the order… So you’re coming back in defense but not with my sushi? I’m confused.
He shows up with one of my two missing rolls. The one the sous chef admitted to never making and asks me to see what he brought. «Nothing», from my order at least but you want me to show you the already consumed order of everyone else? Clever driver. Because in your back and forth strangers would hold off and let raw fish sit to help me get a roll.
The driver is still arguing with me at the salon, which I remind you he came back to only for that. As he’s standing there, I call back and ask to speak to a manager. The driver steps outside, I hear the phone ring at the restaurant and am put on hold. As the driver hangs up the young lady picks the phone back up and says she can help. In case you missed that, he is now asking her not to transfer me to anyone else. I insist on a manager to which she says there is none… A restaurant without a manager? I ask to speak to someone who’s in charge. «Well, you can speak with the sous chef, he’s the only one here» a restaurant without a manager or executive chef? I’m a little confused. The sous chef agrees to send me another roll but while still making it clear that he made it and packed it and doesn’t appreciate anyone trying to get free food… A $ 6.97 roll? A six dollar and ninety seven cent roll??? I continue to explain that none of this is my issue. I placed an order and my order was not received. If THEY mistakenly packed one of my two sushi rolls into another bag and THEY mistakenly didn’t prepare my other roll, how is that my problem? The driver yells and says «well, I’m not brining it because that means I could have to pay for it and I’m should haven’t to pay for it»… so I should? I was just beside myself at the way I was in the simplest terms being attacked for their mistakes.
I will say that eventually they did bring my roll. But I couldn’t bring myself to eat it in fear they had sabotaged it. They also then came back a 4^th time to bring me a pint of ice cream as an apology? I was so confused. How about a refund considering my first roll was stale and my second came an hour later and my appetite was completely shot?
I have never been so disrespected by restaurant staff. I will refrain from giving the drivers name because I wouldn’t want anyone losing their job, but I hope he reads this and understands that someone else may not be so empathetic.

I am definitely an advocate of iron sushi. This one in particular I frequent because of the great staff and quick service .
I always dine in and have never ordered takeout. They are a busy establishment since the sushi is tasty and cheap however, my order has always been prepared in an adequate amount of time .
The sushi chef and cashier do acknowledge their customers and provide a welcoming atmosphere .
I am DELIGHTED they chose to serve alcohol beverages because nothing pairs better than a Bluemoon and crunch roll .
Located in miracle mile, outside seating is best to enjoy the scenery. Plus right next door is Ben and Jerry’s for dessert !

If I’m not trying to spend a million dollars on three pieces of sushi… I go to Iron Sushi. Why? Because I get a bang for my buck that’s why. Here, I get six large pieces of sashimi for like $ 6.95 and it’s the Gables.
I get speedy service and good tasting fish. They offer wifi here so you can stay and do your thang! They also play music and have flat screens on the wall. You can self-​serve yourself some water as much as you want.
There’s no outdoor seating and parking is metered on the street or there’s also a garage attached to the building that’s a $ 1 an hour. Total I spent $ 26 on four sushi platters that has 6 – 12 pieces each.
Great place to come get sushi when you’re hungry. Don’t break the bank at other franchises and receive small pieces. Come here and get full!

Ok so this place is very very understaffed! and from the mouth of the employees: «the owner doesn’t care, he says its slow and don’t need more staff»
let me tell you, was there for over 30 minutes and the phone did not stop ringing! two employees for everything is horrible. thats why they take forever with the orders.
yes the foods pretty good, what you would expect ro a cheap sushi place but just the wait is such a turn off.

The only good thing about this sushi joint was the sushi and the prices. The service was awful. The lady behind the cashier didn’t even acknowledge me when I walked in and never asked if I wanted anything to eat. I had to speak up first to order. And looking at the other reviews the delivery must be awful. What’s sad is the sushi is really good. I had the Miami Heat and it was great. Just the service is awful.

Do yourself a HUGE favor, and stay away from this horrid place. It took over an hour and half to receive our takeout. I wish they would of done me a favor, and not shown up. Our sushi was HOT. Why wouldn’t it be? I’m sure it was sitting in bag for an hour or so surrounded by our hot food. Disgusting. I had a couple of bites, and called it a day. We called and complained, and they said they would offer us half off on our next meal. Thanks, but not thanks.
Im writing this review from my bed. Why? I have a mild case of what seems to be food poisoning. NEVER AGAIN.

I just called to place an order for delivery, it was 30 min before closing time and the lady that picked up the phone told me that it would take two hours! they obviously did not want to take the order. Since I knew that that was it was all about, I told her that I had no problem waiting the two hours, then she put me on hold and then picked up the phone again to tell me that they were not placing any more orders. Terrible service, very lazy, if they do not want to work all the restaurant working hours, then why open it so late? A disgrace for this neighborhood, I am not used to that kind of service in this area. Very very lazy.

I love the concept of cheap fresh sushi. I’m a fan of Hiro Sushi in SoBe which is pretty much the same concept. But this location is sooo hit or miss. I have been here at-​least 10 times in the last 12 months, half the times I have loved it. the other half I swear I will never go back (and because its close to my home, I end up going back when I’m hungry and don’t want to spend too much.)
I was last there 11/​17, ordered 2 different rolls and a Miso Soup. The Miso Soup was ok, the rolls were horrible. The rice was sort of undercooked? It was hard. I’m not sure how a sushi restaurant cant get rice right… it doesn’t get any more basic than that.
Frankly, I would recommend fellow Unilocalers to save their money and hit sakura in the Gables, Red Koi or even Sushi Maki. Iron sushi is at best as good as the sushi at publix when its fresh and as bad as… well… not so fresh publix sushi.
All in all I will probably be back given how close its to my home and the fact that its sort of cheap.
