This is an awesome place! Rolls are delicious… Crab salad is the bomb… Trio Sashimi Roll for those of us that do care what to eat, best choice! Muscle builder :)

Ikura has some interesting and creative rolls that are tasty but a little on the pricey side. Service wasn’t the fastest even though they weren’t that busy but we’ve experienced worse. Our Giralda roll(salmon, tuna, avocado, scallions, crispy flakes, soy paper, Ikura sauce) came out with cream cheese, although we asked for no cheese. They fixed it within a few minutes. The roll was BIG and very good, worth the $ 16. The soy paper was a little dry but I loved the crunch that the«crispy flakes» provided in contrast to the otherwise soft roll. Totally different, the rice-less Noni-Ta roll(salmon, imitation crab salad, avocado, lettuce, cucumber, veggies and ponzu sauce). It tasted very fresh, green and citrusy. Great for a hot day, refreshing. The tempura fried apple slices drizzled with caramel sauce were a nice treat. Small dessert but not in a million years worth $ 9. What is it with restaurants charging more for desserts than they charge for some entrees? It’s fried apple slices, not croque en bouche! Ambience could be better but pretty good rolls if you’re into exotic rather than Traditional sushi.

We get here, wait 10 moms for our appetizer, 20 for our two small, very small sushi rolls and after waking another 10 minutes for our volcano roll we asked the waitress if it were to take longer, when she said yes, we decided to ask for the check… $ 45 later for an awful time and the rolls are tiny! We decided to go to another sushi place to eat. We literally threw away $ 45 and water our time. Never again! 1 chef and people around us are still waiting for our food. So sad…

Not worth the price or the time. Spent 45 mins there waiting for our food and then the first part of order came out and then another 15 mins before we had to cancel the rest of our order. Rolls are small and overpriced for the amount of actual sushi you get. Thin sliced salmon in the JB roll that you can barely taste. Staff didn’t seem to even care we were unattended and there for so long. We left and went next door to have some more food. Not worth the experience at all

Disappointed. Purchased a $ 10 for $ 20 deal. Salmon Teri was tiny cubes of deep fried over salty fish, small greasy nuggets… Not impressed. The bento had some of the worst, over firm, poorly cooked rice I’ve had in years!!! The veggie roll was ok. Salad ok, had avocado. Terrible pop music in the background. Would not come here again, would not recommend.

This is a hidden gem in the gables. I have visited various sushi restaurants but none have compared to Ikura! After eating sushi here I have not visited any other sushi restaurant. Def recommended.

Great little sushi spot in the Gables. Best Kanikami crunchy salad I’ve had in a while! And it was free because of the checkin special in Unilocal ;)

Great experience, loved their crunchy salad and the Giralda roll. You could definitely tell that the sushi was fresh and of good quality. Definitely a great gem in the middle of the gables, it is always encouraging to find new good sushi places in Miami.

First of all we came during the Giralda night, which we didn’t know about… While we were eating they took all tables out so felt la little weird to be in a restaurant with only two tables and so much space… Next time we will eat outside as seemed more fun. I had the honeymoon roll wich was great! And i was impressed with the size! Normally these sushi places are so cheap with their portions… We shouldn’t order the salmon balls as with the roll would have been enough. Btw the salmon balls were just ok… Nothing to brag about. My hubby ordered the miso soup, he wasn’t too happy but I thought it was good. And we also had another roll with crispy onions, avocado and can’t remember what else… That one was average. Service was good, i just wish the waitress didn’t have so much perfume on… Every time she came by i felt nauseous… She was super sweet and nice though… Parking as always is a nightmare in coral gables… We bought a $ 20 for $ 10 coupon in Unilocal which brought the check to $ 34. Pretty good as we left so full. It was an ok experience and in i think we would go back.

The salad was GREAT! I definitely recommend the South beach roll and the Giralda roll. Also the kanikama crunch salad is the best! You can do a Unilocal checkin for a free salad, try it before they take off the promotion ! The setting is perfect, so far we have gone in many occasions and have never been disappointed, definitely one of the best spots at Giralda

Service was HORRIBLE! I ordered the salmon tartar and the nigiri sea. The roll took 30 min to make and there was only one other table. The servers were on their phone by the sushi bar and the sushi chef had his headphones on and was listening to music while working. Super unprofessional! The other table had to get up to call a server. I was able to eat the tartar but the roll took so long that I had to get it to go. I myself had to get up to ask the server to pack it up cuz I had no time. Then the other table got up too to ask for the bill. Lol. I was so shocked at how bad the service was lol. Nevertheless, the nigiri sea was pretty good! I really liked it but I think next time I’ll just order it to go cuz I will get frustrated again if I have to deal with such slow service. The salmon tartar was okay but the portion was pretty decent!

For a 10 tables restaurant, Ikura has exceeded my expectations. I came because of the reviews I read and once again: they were on point. We ordered the steamed shrimps Shumai with Ikura sauce, the Trio Sashimi, the Chicken Teriyaki and the Chocolate Lava. Everything including service but excluding the dessert was incredible. However, I had told them that I came for Unilocal and they never mentioned the coupon and deal on Unilocal so I ended paying a full tab. For that reason I give them 1 star. Honesty first.

Nice Place for Sushi in Giralda Avenue. The service is great and sushi is good in quantity, taste and size of the rolls.

The place is dark, a bad combination between sushi and lounge music, the waitress had no idea about the wines they had, we asked for a glass of wine and they offered us a REDWINE that was in the fridge, we said no to that and they said that the Pinot noir was good(the worst red wine I have ever tried) we had to return it. We asked for two rolls: the first one has too much lettuce on it and the second(one of the most expensive in the menu) was ok. Finally check… They charged us for the water! Not going back ever again.

Even though the inside is small, the taste and quality of the food is great. For Unilocal member, Ikura offers the kanikama crunch salad, one per table. I ordered the honey shrimp which was okay. After reading the reviews, I had to try the green apple roll. Now that roll was delicious!!! I would definitely come back here again. TIP: Be sure to read the parking signs. Even though there is a meter, after 5 pm the restaurants use most of the street parking as valet. I got towed. Seeing empty parking spots on the street and thinking«woohoo I got a spot» is very deceiving!!! The spots are empty for a reason.

Definitivamente volveré a comer sushi!

Words that make anyone want to become a Unilocaler: free appetizer upon checking in! Most of the appetizers at Ikura’s run between $ 10-$ 16, so take advantage of the offer. Shreya M. and I ordered both the kanikami crunch and the honey shrimp($ 23 in savings!) and didn’t regret a single bite.(Although our waists might beg to differ after we finished our meals.) Having eaten honey walnut shrimp frequently while growing up, I thought that the honey shrimp was good but didn’t stand out in particular. The kanikama crunch, on the other hand, is a house favorite that makes anyone salivate. It’s an imitation crab salad mixed with tobiko, panko flakes, green onions, unagi sauce, and spicy mayo that makes you want to eat the whole dish by yourself! The sushi rolls came out on long plates that never seemed to end, easily fitting 10 – 12 slices per roll. I ordered the uramaki mango roll, which was mildly spicy and utterly fantastic since you can never go wrong with tempura shrimp, salmon, and mango. But my favorite was the meat lovers’ roll: a baked roll with churrasco(grilled skirt steak), plantain, avocado, and topped with chimichurri sauce. A definite Latin/Japanese fusion, but a delicious one nonetheless! Especially when washed down with a carafe of lychee sake. All in all, Ikura’s is a lovely place to grab sushi. The Unilocal deal of spending $ 10 to get $ 20 and the free app makes it even more palatable, but you can’t use both deals at the same visit. If you get a chance, take the window seat and sit on pillows for the night; they’re surprisingly comfortable and makes the meal feel just a tad more authentic. For a Japanese fusion place in Miami, visit Ikura’s!
