A huge mistake walking into this crap. I walked in and was greeted by another gentlemen who was also waiting for the past hour for a cut. The barbers in that shop mostly work on appointments, the barbers look like a bunch a dorks, and it’s ring worm city. Don’t go!!! It also shows the bad work ethic in this country now a days.

I wanted to share my review on homebase to support the local shop and promote the actual truth of the establishment. — Yes the shop may be loud at times — Guys talking and music playing, it is all part of the atmosphere of the shop. — Their wait times may be long at times for walk-ins on some days, only reason being these skilled barbers have clientele that make appointments to get their haircuts(This is a good thing people)! — This is a barber shop, the overall purpose of this business is to provide excellent hair-cuts to men/children for which they do an amazing job. If you are looking for a fancy, spa like barbershop that«raises the bar», this may not be the place for you. However, if you want a great hair-cut and to look great — Give homebase a shot. I have been a client for 10+ years with home base.

The other five star/over the top reviews are suspicious considering that this barber shop is definitely not«raising the bar» in any class. Well, at least not for me or anyone that may walk in looking to get fast and good service. Today, a friend and I came in, sat down, waited for thirty minutes and then left. The shop is dodgy, louder than a barber shop and tax office in Washington Heights and the barbers seem to do more talking than actual working. Bottom line: If there are two barbers working and they both have someone in their chair, your wait time will be around 30 – 90 minutes.

Home Base has been and continues to raise the bar when it comes to barber shops. It’s a spacious place, with plenty of seating for walk-in customers. Calling ahead and making an appointment is an option for those who prefer not to wait there. However, if you decide to be a walk-in customer and wait(if there happens to be a wait), then there is a TV, a soda machine, and perennial stimulating conversation about sports, the entertainment industry, and similar topics to keep you entertained. My barber of choice is Mouse, but, based on my observations of their work, all the barbers are topnotch.
