Went there without appointment (which you shouldn’t do) and received a very good hair cut and an amazing service. Loved the small shop and the barber who is a professional barber and super nice person. I’ll definitely return!

This place is perfect! Walk in to your own private barber shop. I have been looking for a place to get a decent cut in Miami for the past month to no avail. Any place with a good reputation will run you $ 45 and that’s without a beard trim and razor shave!!! Ray is your man if your looking for a great cut that’s also not gonna cost you over $ 30. I’d recommend Ray to anybody whose looking for the real deal barbershop experience yet wanting a more personal touch. Honest and courteous service can be expected. I won’t go anywhere else.

Ray is hands down the best barber in Miami. I’ve been living in Miami for almost a year now and he is the only barber I trust to cut my hair. Every time it is a thorough, quality and professional haircut. If you need a place to get your haircut, he is the man to go to! He is blessed with the clippers and scissors, get your hair cut by him!

I have always been of the opinion that barbing like any other service should be an experience you should look forward to. Sadly, there are not many who have made the experience worthwhile for me, which was why seeking out a barber who ticks the box in professionalism, skills and experience was a priority for me.
Ray ticks all the boxes and even more. He stands out as a professional, who is attentive to your needs and equally skilled in the art of making you look your best.
His new place at Coral Gables is a place to be, very neat, comfortable, sophisticated and the service also excellent. Try him out if you need a skilled barber who knows what he is doing.
He has a great personality and will no doubt meet your expectations.

After years of overpaying for subpar simple hair cuts I finally found Ray. He is the most talented barber I have come across in Miami. My haircut is simple but I have had so many others mess it up. His work is extremely consistent and I always leave happy. I really wouldn’t go anywhere else from now on. He recently moved from Midtown to Coral Gables and I will follow him wherever he goes. Always super nice and easy going, always has something interesting on the tv, nice atmosphere. You can’t ask for more. I can’t say enough about how good of an experience I have with Ray every time. His prices are extremely reasonable. He could charge twice as much and I would still go. Do yourself a favor and give him a try.

I’ve been in Miami all my life and I have constantly had to change barbers throughout my life. I’ve been going to Ray since 2008 and he is a God send. His new location makes getting a haircut at Upper Kutz a personal experience. What’s even better is my son won’t have to go through what I went through and likely have the same barber through most of his life. If you’re in the Gables or just need a good barber definitely check him out.

Ray has moved from his midtown spot to a new one man shop in coral gables. Same great service, same perfect cuts. I will follow this barber where ever he goes. If you’re a local in the gables area go check him out. Self esteem will ride after he gets a hold of your hair.

I found Upper Kutz late in 2014, and all I could say is WOW. They have recently moved further away from their old location, but it doesn’t matter. It’s worth the drive. It has always been in and out service for me every time I have gotten a hair cut, versus other barbershops in which you would typically have to wait. Ray’s attention to service is outstanding, there has never been a moment in time where the service has been bad. No matter what, I will keep coming back, highly recommend on my end.

I spent a full two years searching and sampling the various «top tier» barber shops in Miami. Ray set himself far above all others with the overall quality and skill of his work. I don’t mind traveling a bit further for my cuts now that he’s moved as I trust no other barber in Miami to cut my hair.
