Cove Fitness

I’m so sad to see such terrible reviews of Cove Fitness. My husband and I joined in February and have had such a wonderful experience. He and I are at two different fitness levels and what they offer caters to the both of us. We love the facility and the staff. Amber is so incredibly sweet and nice. Melanie, Marlo, Anna, and Ray are by far our favorite trainers/​instructors (and no, we are not close friends with them). All the girls in the child care room are sooooooo good to our daughter and she loves them as well. Sure, they’re pricey but you get what you pay for and I definitely dont kind paying good money for the experience I have at this gym.

The gym & facilities are great. Most of the staff is very nice also very helpful! The biggest problem this Cove business has is the Senior Management and their pricing structure!
The general Manager Amber Beato is one of the most Arrogant, condescending persons I have ever had the dis-​pleasure of meeting. She will smile to your face until there is a problem, then she will ultimately lie or state «it is our policy» type of excuse. I would really love to maintain my membership here, but as so many others have noted «if your not related, or in their IN crowed, you are nothing to them»

This is truely sad since the facility is very nice & most of the Staff really want to help! But considering our area & the fact that most of us can drive to the West Ft Hood gym for free, the Management & price for this business isn’t worth it!!! SORRY BUT THEY SHOULD DO BETTER!!! Maybe hire a manager with a managment Degree or something more than just being a long time friend with the owner. Eventually this business is going to suffer, due to mis-​management. We may even see it on the TV show «the Profit» in the future.
Notice all and any positive reviews about this business are from Unilocal users who have only 1 (one) review. That’s kind of fishy & implies to me that employees of the facility are trying to paint a pretty picture on a distinctional Small Business. Oh & for the positive post that tried to explain the 10yr Manager Amber weight appearance, stating that she was pregnant, has she been pregnant for 10 years? I’ve been a member since they was at the Cove Strip mall… She was out of shape then & still is today! Not a perfect role model for a sports center.

I tried this gym during the 2 day free trial promotion and it is a very nice gym: has plenty of machines, some with personal tv’s on them, an amazing hot tub in the ladies room, and I did an intense boxing class which was awesome. But it is WAY too expensive for me. And they close early on Saturday and Sundays which is when I prefer to exercise. If their prices were lower I would love to join.

Do not enroll there unless you are friends with one of the instructors. I enrolled to Cove Fitness because I used to participate in Les Mills group exercises such as Body Pump or RPM. However these are mostly over filled in Cove Fitness with family members or friends of the instructors. For new members or people who are not part of the instructor’s friend group there is no equipment available. One time I was there about 45 minutes earlier befiore the class started and the front desk told me that they did not issue tickets for bikes 15 minutes prior. When I came later to the front desk (which was about 15 min. prior) she had no more tickets. When I looked at the room, I saw the instructors wife and his friends on the equipment. This happened a couple times since then I do not rush anymore to make it to the classes since I will never get an equipment.
Also front personal is clueless or never around.

Called on the phone and the receptionist was quick to not give any info and to get off the phone. I was quoted one thing but how surprised I was to find that they wanted $ 162 down payment and $ 66 a month. I asked if they knew their location considering Cove is not exactly a top real estate location, and this is absolutely the most expensive down payment I have ever been asked to give. The receptionist stated they had over 1500 members… With that info I turned around and looked at the parking lot. There was maybe 40 spots for parking. This is a VERY expensive gym! I have seen better for a lot less.

We were members of this facility, though we seldom went. The gym has great potential, especially since they built a new and very nice facility. The problem that will keep them from achieving all that they could is that; while the owner is a warm, friendly and intelligent professional, he has someone in a position of authority that is the definition of unprofessional. I sincerely hope that the reality of the situation is realized before the business suffers. A true, educated, and knowledgeable professional could make Cove Fitness the best gym in Central Texas. A few supervisory and ethics classes could benefit current management greatly.
