Hooligan’s Half Irish Pub

This is a tough one. Being recently from the Northeast where everything is smoke-​free, it throws you off a bit when you walk into the bar and you see and smell smoke. My wife would have turned right around and left. If you’re a non-​smoker, then Hooligan’s is probably not your place. That being said, this is definitely a local, divey bar that serves pub food. The Half Irish thing threw me off, but I had the fish and chips anyway and I really enjoyed it. I sat at the bar and Rachel juggled a bunch of customers, but was still attentive to all. Lots of screens for the sports fans. Plenty of tables with some hide-​away books for more private conversations. A varied pub menu, with a limited draft selection, but a huge selection in bottles. All in all, not a bad place if you don’t mind the smoke.

Surprisingly good pub food… though mostly American fare… not traditional Irish pub grub… no, you will not find bangers n mash here. However, they do offer fish n chips and shepherds pie.
This pub is 21 and up all day, as they allow smoking… yes, we did see some college kids carded and turned away when trying to just order food…
What you will find is a selection of bar food… burgers, sandwiches, wings, appetizers… they are also well known for fish n chips… hand breaded fresh cod n home cut fries.
They have an extensive offering of craft beers n imports. There are also about a dozen rotating cider offerings.
We stopped in for happy hour on a Tuesday… selecting two apps n drinks. Service was quick n friendly. The bacon cheddar fries were loaded w cheddar cheese n lots of crunchy bacon. The ranch dressing was runny. The bakers dozen of fried shrimp was quite good… large, fresh, not frozen shrimp, that were hand battered in a light n crunchy breading (Same as used for fish n chips). The cocktail sauce was obviously house made n very heavy on fresh grated horseradish… yes, it gives quite a bite.
They offer daily happy hour specials on drinks n food. They have several theme nights, trivia on tuesdays, wing night on thursdays. There is also live music on the weekends. There are plenty of flat screen tvs and darts n pool available. There is also a covered patio if you find it too loud inside.
If you are looking for a relaxed adult atmosphere w fresh bar food and plenty of craft beer options, this would be the spot for you… just remember, this is a smoking establishment, both on the patio n in the pub itself… although, it was not smokey when we were there. In the end, we really enjoyed our time there.

Food is great, especially the fish and chips. Drink selection is alright. Service isn’t great.

Delicious food, extremely loud, reasonable priced food. Staff is always friendly and kept clean.

Walked into the place and first thing I noticed was that it was a smoking restaurant. Place smelled terrible. Left immediately to another place.

Happy with a half Irish pub-​good food good times! Been here twice, loved it twice! Bartenders are friendly and remember you. Previously lived in a larger city with more pub options-​no native Irish that we’ve met but still hoping. Will return for more good times & more info!

The perfect end to our vacation. Came because we liked the name & it got good reviews, stayed for the atmosphere, great food, cold beer & great service! Samantha was tell-​it-​like-​it-​is, friendly & helpful. We shared wings & fish-​n-​chips & it ROCKED!

Been in there a couple of times now. Great, friendly staff that knew me by name by the end of the first night. Great burgers and appetizers (what I’ve had so far)!! It is a 21+/smoking pub… which is great if that is what you are looking for. There is a jukebox that usually goes through everything from Country to Rock to Irish drinking music. Definitely check it out if you are around the area!

First time here. Not kid friendly. It’s a 21 and over pub, do in Tennessee that means it is a smokers paradise. It wasn’t what I expected.
If you like bar food, a loud facility, smoking, and no kids, then this is your place.
Service was good.

I heard this place had great Fish N’ Chips.
I heard Right!
There was plenty of good choices on the menu to choose from but I was recommended the Fish N’ Chips so that is what I had.
The Lunch was awesome, the service was friendly and the food came out quick.
Hooligan’s is a great lunch spot.

This place rox!!! Good atmosphere, 100 beers bottled great drafts and yummy food! Happy hour 2 – 6 daily. Woooohoooo Fish and Chips are very good! Nice group of patrons and the server was friendly and efficient. Full bar, too. It’s got the feel of a neighborhood bar.
