I decided to ignore the previous review and check out this braiding salon. The price was competitive. The braider was friendly. The braids looked beautiful… BUT I returned to pick up my neice. I was watching as the braider finished my niece’s braids and a woman entered the salon. She was speaking in another language. After several minutes without an introduction says«are you going to pay me.?» I did not realize that this was the owner. I told her that I want to see the finished product. She says, «she is done, all that is left is dipping the ends in hot water.» Having a woman walk up to me demanding payment prior to the braids being complete did not sit well with me. I have been to 2 other braiders and never had this experience. This was the owner. Unprofessional. Very rude. She did not even introduce herself. I do not recommend this salon. I will never set foot in this salon again.

My hair looks great and I’ve received compliments on my braids from strangers, but I will NEVEREVER patronize this salon ever again. I was so angry I couldn’t sleep! Wenesday I set up an appointment to get my hair braided on Friday at 7:30am. I told the stylist I wanted long braids and I had to leave at 1pm and thought 5.5hrs would be plenty of time for box braids. Halfway through one quad, the stylist says she won’t be able to finish by 1pm. I tell her I work until 10:30pm, about an hour away ad she agrees to meet me after work and finish up. When it comes time to pay, I realize I left my card at home. I don’t live far, I rush to get it and pay her b/c I was thinking it was only fair. Only the middle needs to be done. Anyway, I end up 20minutes late for my new job b/c of the card. After work, I call to let her know I’m 30 minutes out. She balks, says I said a different time than I did. That she made an appointment with someone who is going out of town at 7am and she can’t be up all night. That two people were supposed to be helping her this morning, but they just«didn’t show». Can I come after 2pm tomorrow? BTW, did I mention I was having my hair done by «G»(Giselle) Her name is on the door, but the way she interacts with the other stylists, it’s like she isn’t the manager/boss/supervisor. I had plans for the holiday weekend on the other side of town, so NO, I couldn’t meet her at all on Saturday after 10am. She says she’ll call around 8:30 to see if someone else can finish me up. I barely slept all night I was so angry and frustrated! I showed up to the shop at 7am and she gave me more excuses, saying I couldn’t have expected all of my hair to be done 5 hrs. True, I have a lot of hair, but it only took 5 hrs before! ALSO, I am NOT a braiding professional. Giselle said she’d had this shop since 2007. Shouldn’t she know? Then she said someone would be in at 8:30/9am. Being the owner of the salon, I was so confused and frustrated! Does she not have a schedule? I asked her to see if she couldi ask the person to be here at 8, since she estimated it would take more than the 1hr between 9&10 to complete. She called a stylist, but instead of saying«Hey, could you be here at 8?» Giselle asks the stylist«What time are you coming in?» I threw facts at her and told her that I would sit there until someone showed up. By then it was 7:15 and her appoinment hadn’t shown. She said she hated to leave things unfinished. I just sat there. FINALLY, she began to work on my hair. When people showed up, she explained she’d been working on me yesterday and couldn’t finish b/c I had to work. She told them she just couldn’t let me sit there until 9am I thanked her sincerely, the price was reasonable, and my hair looks great, but no tips for her and no business either!
