Omg delicious. The double cheeseburger deluxe has a taste to it that is way different than any other burger I’ve had, it’s so good. The homemade onion rings are probably homemade which makes them to die for.

Another classic Indiana drive-in. If only we still had more drive-in theaters. Kunkel’s is famous for it’s hand breaded Hoosier pork tenderloins. This isn’t a giant tenderloin, and it’s fried in bread crumbs. It even has maybe a slight cinnamon taste? In any event, it’s pretty juicy and has a nice crunch. It sort of splits the difference between the really thick monster tenderloins and the super thin ones. All in all a pretty good sandwich – though I prefer the thicker ones. The onion rings were pretty good, too. Same coating as the tenderloin. It sort of falls off the ring like the kind they used to serve at Damon’s. The strawberry pie, though vaunted on their sign, was a bit disappointing. I expected Indiana berries! Still worth a stop.

If you’re ever in the Connersville area you MUST stop in to this adorable 50s style drive-in diner! Everything was on point and exactly what I had hoped for… Small town feel, friendly staff, made from scratch food and tasty treats! I thoroughly enjoyed my hand breaded tenderloin, onion rings, coleslaw and strawberry pie! Boy, my mouth is watering as I write this up! Bottom line — go to Kunkel’s!!!
