Very tasty! Have been to many Mexican places, and this one rocks. The tortilla chips are fresh and salted just right. The Chile Verde had just the right amount of spice. My son had the steak Tostada — that was also great. The flan was also yum. only complaint was that my father in law’s chicken plate took 20+ min — not sure why. Family owned a plus.

I’ve walked in here at 845pm twice now, 15 minutes before closing. Restaurants seem to be most vulnerable to bad service around this time of night. Both times I’ve been here I’ve had one of the best carnitas burritos in my life. The favors were perfect, with just the right amount of guac, meat and pico de gallo. Can’t wait to come back again!

Very disappointed — thought I would give this place a try with all the great Unilocal reviews. I got crispy chicken tacos. Tacos were under filled in pre formed shells and hardly any flavor. I was hoping for some nice deep fried crispy tacos — by the time we got home shells were soggy and falling apart. Rice and beans were not very tasty. My son got carne asana super nachos which were under whelming as well. Prob stick with Los Gallos from now on. Sorry.

I had several disappointing experiences within the last 3 – 4 months from pupusas coming without the proper salsa for the pupusa, or coming without requested beans and rice, or getting 4 burritos with zero of them getting marked what they were, or getting a carnitas and carne asada burrito and they are both marked«carn». The cook is the owner and he tries hard but he never has even offered to comp anything. His help/older lady is useless and can’t even use the Damm computer system and she stops him and slows him. Well I had it and will stop patronizing them. FYI Los gallos is not Los gallos anymore down the road sold about 7 months ago.

Sunday: The first go around of this place went ok. Showed up around 4:55, not knowing they close in five minutes. Food was still ordered, only instead of eating inside it was eaten off the trunk of the car. I ordered two chicken tacos and a steak burrito. The tacos were good, but they were drenched in sauce. When I opened the container it basically looked like someone murdered my tacos. The burrito was also good; however, it was built in layers and I hate that. The chips were OK, but did not taste homemade at all like the salsa was. Monday: Stopped by around 4:00 and had a much better experience. For one thing the dining room was open. The girl behind the counter was very nice. The biggest difference was the food. I ordered two chicken tacos again, and this time they actually looked the part. They looked amazing in fact. They tasted just as amazing as they looked. The juicce from the chicken mixed with the sauce it was marinating in, forming a delicious super sauce. I also ordered a steak torta. For a lover of sandwiches and Mexican food, this thing was bomb. The chips still taste the same so no extra points there. I would also suggest finishing the mural on the wall. Just so the place looks more complete.

One of my favorite locally owned places. I come here quite often and i’m a huge fan. Tacos and pupusas are my go to with a horchata. They are usually very quick and the food is always satisfying.

Very disappointing. Was craving some authentic Mexican food. Came with 4 people, I ordered the fish soup and 1 carne asada taco. Friends ordered pupusas, & carne asada tacos. The soup wasn’t very flavorful, I had to add a bunch of limes, cilantro, tapatio and salt. The carne asada tacos were over cooked and the pupusa wasn’t very good either. Not coming back again.

Wow! So so disappointed. We were craving Mexican and this place had good ratings. I’ve never been to such a place. The salsa was canned salsa and check out the taco! I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I went to Taco Bell. I’m so sad right now. Utter disappointment for my belly

We are vegetarians and there were multiple possibilities for us. My wife and I got vegetarian tacos(they aren’t on the menu but they will gladly make them by request). We also got a «queso pupusa» which is a kind of flat cornmeal dough with cheese inside. My son got a delicious vegetarian burrito. The service was friendly and the décor was quaint with beautiful paintings on the walls. More importantly, there was a complimentary salsa bar with delicious chips that you can help yourself to. Going to go back here next time we are in Concord.

Super disappointed after all the good reviews. Review after review was good and this place was below average for a Mexican restaurant. They say handmade tortillas but I am skeptical. Seemed like store bought tortillas. The taco shells were definitely store bought and the chips seemed store bought as well. None of us were impressed by the taste or freshness. Seems like a run of the mill Mexican restaurant. Lady at the register was really nice and helpful, which was a redeeming factor.

Good food, good service, and good prices. It’s Sunday, my wife is getting her nails done and I wanted to get some food and watch the raider game. I walked out of the nail place and right next-door was Taqueria Las Palmas. It’s 2 o’clock in the afternoon and the game started 30 minutes ago and the chef was nice enough to change the channel so I could watch the game. I ordered four carnitas crunchy tacos, that were a dollar $ 1.50 each, added a Coke, and a side of sour cream to complete my meal. When I sat down I noticed there were chips and a salsa bar that I walked right by, so I filled up a basket, and got some salsa Verde and their mild salsa. The salsa Verde was excellent but had almost no kick which suited me perfectly. When the tacos came they were a little light when it came to what was inside,(meat, lettuce, tomatoes, and it almost had no cheese) but they tasted great. I was most impressed when they brought out my side of sour cream which I almost always have to ask for when I’m at a Mexican restaurant. Boom five stars right there.

The food was alright, but not as good as it was a year ago. :( I enjoyed the horchata, but the flavor of the food was not the same. The food was not bad, just different.

We’re always looking for good Mexican food in the East Bay and decided to give Las Palmas a try on a Saturday evening. Well… our food was not terrible, but not a that good either. My companion ordered several of the tacos al pastor and I order the chicken tacos. I think the biggest issue here is that they are pre-cooking the meat several hours in advance, then re-cooking it to bring everything up to temperature. I did not douse my tacos with salsa or guacamole on purpose to check the quality of the grilled chicken. Sadly my chicken had little flavor and was as dry as the desert! All I could taste was over cooked chicken bits and raw onions. Not yummy. The al pastor was also re-cooked, and dry, but had a bunch of sauce on it which made it a bit more palatable. Tortillas were fresh which was only bright spot. Chips are not good. They are dry and over cooked tasting. They may have some specialties which fare better, but I strongly believe the best way to initially judge a taqueria is through their tacos. They were lackluster here. I’ll keep looking…

This place is excellent if you want a laid back, but yummy breakfast, lunch, or dinner! It is even family owned! Wonderful burritos and enchiladas. They have some of the best fish tacos I’ve had in the area. It’s definitely not a fancy place but the food is fantastic. The family here is courteous and friendly.

Ummm why have I never been here before? I have to give a full 5 stars. This will be my new place to go when I don’t feel like driving all the way to Los Tacos De Pancho(which will always be my first love) BUT anyways. back to the food The pork enchiladas with rice and beans was delicious! I think some of the best enchiladas I’ve ever had before. My boyfriend got a steak taco with rice and beans and he loved it. We also tried three pupusas(can you tell we love food).the cheese, pork, and also the bean, cheese and pork one. So so so good! Can’t wait to come back and try some more. Also… the red salsa is hella good and I think I’m obsessed with it. This place is a must try!

This weekend started off with bad news for my husband(although, getting a break from work near the beginning of summer doesn’t sound terrible… as long as Momma Bear is still getting a paycheck). Then Saturday we attended an emotional memorial service. So today we enjoyed sleeping in, waking up after noon. We hopped out of bed starving and Casey found Taqueria Las Palmas on Unilocal. Two men were working when we walked in. The small taqueria was very clean, and the man who had been mopping the floors stopped to take our order. He answered all my questions about the menu and I ordered a grilled fish taco($ 2.50) and a crunchy taco with carnitas. We enjoyed some fresh, tasty salsa and warmed chips while we waited for our tacos. I had an empty, reusable water bottle that the man who was cooking our food was happy to fill for me with tap water. They didn’t have any limes(only lemons), but the salsa bar did have radishes in addition to their two salsas, cilantro, chopped onions, and sliced jalapenos. Our hot food arrived and the tacos were fresh tasting and well-portioned. The fish was outstanding. The crunchy taco shell was also really good and fresh. We were both surprised at the quality of food. I’d definitely recommend stopping in here. We went home and watched the Warriors win. And then the Giants win. So it was a really great day overall.
