I stopped by today only to learn they closed about 2 weeks ago(per a neighboring business). Their fish quality was awesome. Not sure if the owners will see this, but I suggest a better location… or a food truck. Check out«off the grid». I have not seen any fish and chip trucks yet. Sad they closed… hopefully the owners can regroup and reopen elsewhere.

Ate here once and the food was okay, tried to go back and try it again but they closed an hour and a half early. So pissed, I know you are there. I tried calling to place a to go order and it just rang, I figured they were busy so I called back a few minutes later and the phone was off the hook. I was already on the way there and was disappointed to see it was closed. Guess you don’t need my business.

Nice short menu, reasonable prices and convenient location. Had the Fish N Chips. Food is made to order so it took a few minutes to come to the table. Everything was hot when it arrived. Fish was perfectly cooked; everything tasked too. Fish could have rested/dripped a bit more before putting it in the basket as the side that was down became mushy. The rest of the fish batter had a nice crisp to it. Bottled water was free. It was a bit warm inside(a/c?); would try them again and probably do take out.

Sadly, I can only give Scousers Fish ‘n Chips two stars. Since they do not have beer — and how can you have fish and chips without beer? — we opted for take out. $ 9.75 for two pieces of fish and chips. They also have a smaller portion, which I assume is one piece of fish, for $ 2.25 less. Noticed a bit of a fishy smell upon opening the take out box, but that soon disappeared. The chips were okay, nothing special. The ratio of fish to batter was good. My fish was not particularly firm. The batter on my second piece of fish, which I shared with DH, was a bit soggy on the bottom. Glad we tried Scousers, but will look to local bar and grills that serve beer for our future fish and chips.

I was really hoping to like this pace. But it is very $$$ and I only took a few bites and tossed it out and went to eat at a mother place. Not a fan at all.

I had seen this place for a while now. Never tought I’d go in there. Not much of a fish person. Anf for some reason fish and chips didn’t sound appetizing. Two days ago I was shopping at the store next to it. My children got hungry and decided to just go there I figured they like to fish sticks their auntie makes them so I was like let’s go because I don’t want to go farther away. I am so glad I went. The place is so nice and clean they have nice decoration all over the place from England and what not. The older man at the cash register was so nice and even gave my kids cookies. Honestly I thought the fries would be not good. I was ready for yucky fries(chips!) Don’t know why. I could not be more wrong! They were Amazing! Crispy! Delicious! The fish could have used a bit of salt but I appreciated the real freshness and realness of it! The batter was golden, crispy! These are not like the fish sticks my kids auntie makes on occasion. I will go back and maybe try their other items! … Ok now, I’m really craving their«Chips»

Being a brit I was very excited, and then very disappointed once going. The fish was freshly cooked and delish but I can get that anywhere… I wanted curry sauce, mushy peas… things I can’t get here. Maybe a pineapple ring or battered sausage. . The hours kill me as well, they don’t open Sunday and close at 7… why? 9pm would be a good closing time even 8… anywhoo just my two cents!

You need to eat here. I’m originally from the UK and these are the best fish and chips I’ve eaten in the US in the last 10 years. Fish was perfectly cooked fresh and the chips were double fried and the perfect crispness. We will be back!

An awesome meal! A great deal! An amazing owner & staff! I passed Scousers Fish ‘n Chips several times thinking, «i wonder if its any good.» After all there were no long lines and the area was hidden back in a smaller strip mall between Bailey and Treat on the East Side of Clayton Road. Actually, it is kind of «cozy.» After bicycling from Walnut Creek and conquering Clayton Road, I was NOT disappointed! I ordered the fish and chips, of course! The customer service was second to none! The food is made to order. Trust me when i say they have really perfected the art of preparing awesome fish and chips! The owner greets people as they come in and came to our table and was so warm and welcoming! He even brought over his home made tarter sauce. Superb. My friend, a self proclaimed«foodie» was blown away and definitely hooked! He ‘s planning another trip to Concord to go back to Scousers Fish ‘n Chips today! The portion was hearty so i wasn’t able to indulge in the home made Pasties! I was stuffed from my meal! The batter was perfect and reminiscent of the classic London fare! Not thick or flavorless like most US places! You MUST stop by for lunch or dinner! You wont be disappointed at all! The atmosphere is pleasant and kept extremely clean, with classic pictures of England, Monarchy, Maps, and several magazines highlighting major English events! I just have to tell everyone about this gem of a place. it is a delight in the otherwise fast food mecca of Clayton Road between Bailey and Treat. A true delight!

My new favorite place for Fish and Chips. My son and I walked in to day for lunch. The first thing we notice is how clean the restaurant is. It was bright, tables and floor were clean, and they were playing Beatles music. We ordered our meals counter-side and sat down at a table. Staff seems to be very friendly. While we were waiting Kev came up to us to greet us. He introduced himself as the owner and welcomed us to his restaurant. The food arrived quickly and the portions were very good. This fish and chips were served on news paper(well, not real news paper, but still cool). The fish was very flaky and delicious. The place hit on all my key attributes, cleanliness, friendly service, and good food. I highly recommend checking them out. On my next visit I plan to try some of the other dishes. I overhead Kev offering curry to one of the other guests for their fries. I may have to ask him about that next time.

My wife and I came in here last week for dinner. It was our first visit. With she being from the UK, we were looking forward to it. When we saw that crab cakes were on the menu, we did our due diligence with staff regarding cooking practices. You see, my wife is deathly allergic to shell fish. We’re talking anaphylactic shock, call an ambulance and hope she makes it to the hospital kind of allergic. Anyway, the nice young lady behind the counter said that the restaurant indeed does use the same cooking oil for both the crab cakes and the fish. Bummer. We politely left, never to return. This restaurant needs to either take crab cakes off of the menu or get the equipment and train staff to not cross-contaminate shell fish with other food. Otherwise it is only a matter of time before they have a serious issue on their hands.

The chippies tasted good. The fish tasted really good. Decent sized portions. Seemed a little bit pricey to me. Was about 12 bucks for a Fish ‘n Chips order. I would have been even more chipper if it was like 8 – 9 bucks. I had my own tartar sauce so I can’t comment on the prepackaged version. Trent don’t do vinegar on his fish and chips…

I have no sentimentality to this joint or its owner… but I’ve had good fish and chips(esp. while living in the UK). Objectively, Scousers could be better. This is not a take-away shop, but a sit-down restaurant… Selection: The selection is very limited and constrained to «tan» food. Would it be that hard to have sides? Even cole slaw would give a bit of variety. They were out of crab cakes when we were there, so it was fried fish or fried shrimp only. Drinks: No beer… boo. A very limited selection of bottled sodas and pitchers of water in the bottom of the fridge(with melting ice in a tray next to it)… and styrofoam cups. Are these even legal anymore? Get a soda machine and a wine/beer license. Seating: No booster seats or high-chairs. Concord’s motto is «where families comes first»… get a few high-chairs. Pricing: $ 12 for 2 pieces of fish and a few fries. The taste is no better than Long-John Silvers which charges $ 6 for the same quantity. Like LJS, there’s pre-packaged tartar sauce. Adjust pricing or give a little more… free coleslaw? Free lemonade? Something to justify the price. Setting: The weird«office» cordoned off by blankets in the back is weird. Build some walls. otherwise, the place is indeed clean. Staff: Nice kids taking orders… good to see that. Overall, LOTS of room for improvement and I hope that happens… I might go back, but if it’s the same, I won’t go back a 3rd time…

Food was OK, however you may want to ask what you are getting we ordered the shrimp dish which the online menu says 10 we got 5 and the combination plate says 3 shrimp we got 1. I called and there response was we changed the size of shrimp. Ok then change you menu!

Very clean. Lovely decorations. The menu is nice and short.(8 items) Fish and chips were good, one of the best I’ve had around here. Staff was nice. Got our food very fast. I would come back. If you enjoy mushy peas, you’ll love theirs.

I do love some good fish and chips! Scousers serves just that; good fish and chips. Nicely battered fish, served hot and crispy. The chips were OK. Kev, the owner couldn’t be nicer. The staff is welcoming and attentive. The restaurant is spotless and nicely decorated. I’m going to have to subtract a star for the packaged tartar sauce. Real lemon wedges instead of a squeeze bottle of lemon juice would be a nice touch too. But don’t get me wrong, I will be returning for my fish and chips fix again soon!

Finally great fish and home-made chips. Have not had fish like this since the Royal Oak. All the Brits and lovers of fish and chips should go before the line is out the door. PS Forgot to mention the mushy peas… be calm my heart!
