Sage Centers for Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Care

We’ve been back and forth to Sage a lot over the last few weeks. Our cat has been very sick and has needed a few procedures and tests.
This hospital and the doctors are exceptional.
— High sense of urgency (Our cat needed a procedure immediately. They addressed the issue and admitted her within a few minutes of our arrival, even with a busy office).
— We have seen 3 separate doctors (Dr. McCabe, Dr. Matsuda, and one other whose name I cannot remember unfortunately). Each doctor showed extreme compassion for the situation, our pet, and our well-​being. We never felt rushed. Each doctor took ample time to explain every procedure, test, result, and cost to us, including entertaining all of our questions. Additionally, we were presented with several treatment options and provided honest information, even some that was hard to hear, but needed.
— They took excellent care of our cat during her overnight stays.
— The staff and doctors are excellent about following up, returning phone calls and checking in frequently to provide updates and status.
— The office is large, clean and welcoming.
I think the hospital deserves 5 stars, but I do want to note that we had a slightly less than 5-​star experience with 1 – 2 of the people at the front desk. One woman just wasn’t very friendly, she seemed irritated (likely caught her on a bad day) and another woman asked us to wait in the waiting area, but forgot to tell the doctor that we had arrived so we sat for 30 minutes until the doctor walked by and noticed us. Honest mistakes, I’m sure, so I’m not knocking a star off for them.

For the most part this place is pretty good, the only thing they need work on is training the front desk people better. They should know what the requirements for a visit should be, I lost whole day of work because the person that scheduled the visit failed to inform me that my dog needed to fast for 12 hours prior to the visit. And several other times they have made mistakes in charges, and are slow in request like sending over medical records, not filling a prescription in time and just simply not being able to answer many questions. Seems like they are just there to answer phones and take a payment

They took good care of my dog, Avery, did everything they could and were compassionate and caring the whole way. RIP. Avery and thank you Sage.

What a wonderful establishments, great & caring staff and super doctors. We had several visits last year with our daughters dog who was having seizures. It appears that it was a brain tumor and our dog died peacefully several months ago. Vet care here isn’t inexpensive but I think it’s the best. I need to thank Dr. Jeremy Wong who happened to be the doctor that we most often saw. What a great doctor, such care and concern he displayed plus the patience he showed us was outstanding. He really saw us through some difficult times.
A very small thing but it was nice that there was coffee, tea, granola bars for us during the midnight visits we made.
Again, they are great and Dr. Wong is superb

My 13 year old kitty would not come out from under the bed regardless of how much coaxing I tried. Finally, I reached under and gently pulled her out. The lower half of her body was saturated and her legs seemed weak. I tried to stand her up on her hind quarters but they were totally limp. Since it was 11pm on a SAT night I called Sage and they said to bring her right in. After a very short wait we were taken to an exam room. She was peaceful and loudly purring but was paralyzed. The veterinarian carefully examined her and explained she had likely «thrown a clot» from undiagnosed heart disease and was suffering the equivalent of a human stroke. The doctor was so kind and explained that this situation is not uncommon in senior cats and currently there are no preventative measures that have been proven effective.
As we talked I continued to gently pet «my baby» and then a port was placed in her leg for medication. Everyone was so kind and gentle and allowed me private time to say goodbye to my «love». I continued to hold her as she passed from this world and marveled at the outstanding, pain-​free care that she received and was so thankful that she did not suffer.
Thank you everyone at Sage… you were all so kind and caring in the most difficult of times.

Thank you so much for the care you showed to us and for treating us like you haven’t had to deal with «pet parents» before. Meryl was stung by a bee but we had no idea what was going on. Your
team gave us updates and told us what was going on as it happened. Every one that works for Sage that we talked to tonight was so very caring and patient with us. You literally saved Meryl’s life. Bee stings for dogs are horribly dangerous and thanks to your caring team, she is going to be ok. It’s not that you just treated our puppy, you treated our puppy and our family with gentle care. Thank you.

My kitten was very sick in the middle of the night and was immediately escorted into a room and was seen. They took great care efficiently of my little baby and he is doing well now! I love how clean and classy the place is especially for a ²⁴⁄₇ vet. Thank you Sage for always being there for me and my pets

She diagnosed the issue over the phone, instead of sending us into the emergency room after hours to perform a stomach pumping, charcoal filtering and fluids
(which would all have been billed at the emergency rates for after hours)
she simply gave us good honest advice on how and what to monitor instead of trying to take advantage of a customer and new puppy
By the way I’m clueless about dogs.
Hopefully her advice saved us $ 500-​$ 1000 we will know more over the next 72 hours– I will know soon.
Integrity and business ethics like this are why I will never go anywhere else!
Vets, like mechanics, contractors and lawyers, can tell you anything and you won’t know if it’s true or not because we simply wouldn’t need their services if we were smart enough to take care of it ourselves– and I’m not.

We came in on Monday, May 23^rd and had to have my 15 year old dog euthanized. After having a not so good experience earlier in the day at another local vet where we spent a ton of unnecessary money, it was refreshing to come into a vet office where they truly cared.
They told us there were a couple of critical cases in front of us but they put us in a nice quiet room where families who are losing a pet can grieve alone away from the hustle and bustle. They reassured us that since they knew it was painful to put a pet down they would try to be with us as soon as possible. I told them it was fine and it gave us some more time with her before we had to make our painful departure.
The Vet Tech. and Dr. were both very thorough with their questioning and making sure this was the right option for us at this time. We all agreed it was best. They gave us as much time as we needed and when the time came they described exactly what would happen. We even stayed in the comfortable room we were already in for the process and I got to hold my sweet girl until the very end where she gently laid her head to rest on my shoulder for the last time.
Fast forward to today, Thursday, May 26 when I open my mail box to find a sympathy card from the staff, which is printed up but what really got my attention is that our Dr. from that night actually took the time to write a personal sympathy note. This tells me they truly care about the families that lose their beloved pets. I know they must have to write quite a lot of those and they are busy with a lot of emergencies so for them to take personal time to jot a note really caught my attention. What a sweet gesture. Also when I called the previous vet to ask if I could return some medications I only used 1 pill out of because I ended up having to put my dog to sleep, they just told me no and that was pretty much that, no sympathy or condolences at all on their end.
That said, Thank You Sage staff for all you have done for us in our tough time. Thank you for being so caring, thorough, and sympathetic to us and our fur baby. You all have tough jobs and you handle it well. You have won yourself a customer for life if/​when we do get our next fur baby. Keep doing what you do. :)

Another evening, another pet emergency. I let my dogs out for the late night bathroom break and when they came back in, my German Shepherd was gagging. He wouldn’t stop and begged continuously to go outside. When I saw him eating grass but not throwing up, I feared for the worst (bloat) and decided to pack him up and go off to Sage.
We arrived a little bit before midnight. There was only one other patient there at the time and we got seen pretty soon. The tech and then the vet listened to my descriptions. He assured me that he didn’t think it was bloat and instead thought there was a good chance that it was a foxtail causing the trouble. With an estimate in hand and my permission, my German Shepherd went under sedation to figure out what the matter was.
An hour later, the vet popped out to tell me that he’d found a foxtail in his tonsil. Another hour or so of monitoring and waking up, my boy and I were on our way home.
Sage was once again a great experience for an emergency vet visit. The staff was courteous, professional, and friendly and bonus — they did well with my crybaby German Shepherd :) I’ll never hesitate to recommend this office for emergency care.

I’ve been to Sage Emergency Vet 3 times now. Each time I would give them 5 stars for service, hospitality, and cost. Of course, añu emergency treatment will cost more than a regular over the counter item, but they do their best to manage the cost for the pet-​owners. When you’re worrying about your pet, financial stress shouldnt be added on. The staff is very courteous and hospitable. The vet techs and doctors are caring and have wonderful bedside manner for the animals. Its a 25 minute drive to come here from Richmond, CA but I will choose this place over emergency vets in Berkeley everytime.

I have had to use their emergency service twice this month, both times for my rescue dog who is incredibly anxious in these situations.
Today we rushed her in because our cat scratched her eye — there was a lot of blood and tears (the tears from my children!).
They treated us kindly, quickly and gave our dog the best possible care. We were seen and treated within 45 minutes, which we felt was more than reasonable.
On our previous visit, we had a follow up call a few days later which our vet has never done.

Brought my dog here under emergency circumstances at 630 AM. I called beforehand and talked to a very kind woman who listened to me and answered my questions calmly and intelligently, and invited me in. When I came with my dog, the wait was minimal and the nurse was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and empathetic. The Vet met with me only briefly but thoroughly explained the evaluation he did on my pup and talked about how he arrived at the conclusion that my dog had an injured back. We had medication, instructions, and treatment within an hour of admittance. The nurses even shaved my dog’s butt (and shaved the matter bit of his tail) because they acknowledged that with his injury he wouldn’t be able to easily turn and clean himself. This was both incredibly thoughtful and helpful.
The next day, they called to check in and ask how he was doing and recommended ways to wean him off his treatment.
This is above and beyond the kind of service I expected. Frankly, I wish my human hospital was nearly as attentive or helpful. I will not hesitate to bring my pup here in the future. Thank you Sage team for your help!

We’ve visited Sage a few times over the last couple of years for our emergency pet needs. Each time has been more than worth the drive to get there, even when other clinics were closer. Early this morning, our elderly Maltese Peanut was having trouble breathing. We were offered and encouraged to proceed with an aggressive treatment, but were also given support in deciding to euthanize. We were provided with the right amount of time and space, and Dr. Dannucci was understanding and helpful. If I could have done it over, I would have asked for the euthanasia to proceed just a tad slower, so that I could have spent a little more time petting Peanut after the initial anaesthetic was injected, before she died. However, that is my own learning experience and perhaps there will be a time for me to apply that in the future. Thank you to everyone at Sage – you gently helped us so much today.

I will not take any of my animals there unless I have no other option. I will drive an extra 20 miles to the Dublin branch instead.
They really did my dog wrong with his second TPLO surgery. I was so upset. Never again!!!

Grateful to the staff at Sage Concord. Twice I have had emergency visits with 2 of our pups. The entire team was wonderful, thorough and compassionate.

Our conure got scratched by a cat, and knowing how dangerous that is, we immediately set out to get her veterinary care. I called several vet hospitals near our home but none were able to see a bird, especially on a Saturday morning. They all recommended Sage, along with another place in Oakley.
Sage didn’t have an avian specialist on staff on a Saturday, but they did have enough familiarity with birds that they could deal with a cat scratch. We had a short wait in their spacious waiting room. The waiting room has some separated areas so that pets can be comfortable away from other animals that may disturb them. It was clean, and they had free coffee tea, and water which helps during the wait.
They did the usual check in with our bird and then took her in for about an hour to clean the wound. We left and they called us when she was ready. They gave us an estimate of costs and it turned out to be about $ 50 less than the estimated amount, which was a relief. All in all, it cost about $ 150 for an emergency Saturday visit. We did go to our local Avian vet on the following Monday for a check up and they prescribed a different course of antibiotics. She told us that what Sage prescribed was good, but she recommended the broader spectrum for a cat scratch.
We are very lucky to have an animal hospital like Sage available!

We took our cat here when he got into a fight and dislocated his toe. The office staff was wonderful and helpful. The only reason why I cannot give five stars is because of the fact that when they secured the splint on my cat’s foot, they put the tape on his fur. This ended up ripping off a big patch of fur from his leg because of the tape. I wish it wasn’t taped to his fur because trying to remove the splint was very, very difficult.
I am very happy with their work and I will use them in the future, but if tape is required for any future procedure, I will be sure to ask them to not attach the tape to his fur. All in all, it is a great facility with wonderful people

We are incredibly thankful to Sage for saving our cat Bobby’s life. A few months ago, our diabetic cat, Bobby, became very very sick. He was not eating, barely drinking, and had lost a lot of weight. We already knew he was diabetic, so we were very sensitive to any change in his weight and diet/​drinking habits. We immediately took him to see our local neighborhood vet. She took one look at him, tried IV fluids, and promptly told us that we needed to take Bobby to see the specialists at Sage.
My fiancé drove like a mad man to Sage, because we were so worried about Bobby. The veterinarians diagnosed Bobby with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and pancreatitis. They placed him on IV fluids and antibiotics. Bobby was hospitalized for about four days. It was agonizing four days to be separated from Bobby, but, thankfully, Sage has visiting hours and we were allowed with Bobby every day that he was hospitalized.
The doctors, nurses, and techs were absolutely amazing. We are indebted to them for taking care of Bobby and, really, saving his life. Bobby has now fully recovered and has almost grown all of his hair back from where he was shaved for IVs, etc. You can’t even tell that he was so sick so recently.

I am upgrading my review to 5 stars for one reason: Sage and Dr. Wong saved our dog’s life. Furthermore, they refunded most of the related charges. The day after Christmas, our (other) sneaky pug pulled a magician’s table trick and ended up getting into a 12 oz bag of chocolate chips. We rushed him to Sage where Dr. Wong recommended overnight hospitalization and about $ 1700 worth of treatment to keep him alive. Of course, we paid it and were more than happy to do whatever was necessary. The best part of this story is that our crazy (and loved) pug lived. The second best part is that because he recovered faster than expected, Sage called us to pick him up the same night and refunded over $ 1000 of the charges. I hate to sound so old, but «in this day and age» it seems that most corporations would jump at the chance to spend as much money as possible. Sage could have easily kept our pug overnight to utilize the remainder of what we paid. It’s nice to know that Sage is not only a good place to take your pets, but also an ethical place to do business with. Thank you to Sage, Dr. Wong and the wonderful technicians and front desk staff who are amazing in our book.

I can’t say enough about the doctors and staff at Sage. The most caring and helpful people.

I never used their veterinary services. I found a dog with no collar and they scanned it for a microchip. They contacted the owner, fed the dog treats, and sent us on our way with cans of dog food and a leash. Everything was free.
Some reviewers complain about their prices but I think this shows that they aren’t greedy. Well equipped, 24-​hour medical facilities cost money to operate.

Do not take your pets to Sage.
It is not just that the prices are outrageous .
We brought our cat in on a Sunday because of an upper respiratory tract infection.
They told us that he would have to see a specialist — and also that after taking x-​rays that our cat probably had cancer!
We spent the night crying and when we went in the next day the first thing we asked about was the x-​ray and the cancer in his chest cavity. The specialist said «I do not know anything about that!!»
Then she tried to talk us into giving our cat a rhinoscopy and a ct scan for about 4000.
Thankfully we had already talked to our regular vet (awesome Dr. Tracy Williams of Dog and Cat Housecalls) and she had told us to only agree to just a rhinoscopy because they could remove the polyp if there was one. We told the specialist that and she said” it’s not a polyp — he’s too old– it’s cancer — (in his nose).
We had at that point had more than enough and said we were leaving with our cat.
Both the specialist and the assistant who brought in our cat gave us dirty looks!
We luckily have now found Encina East Bay Veterinary Center in Walnut Creek.
We have brought both of our cats there for different reasons and the drs, staff, setting and care is wonderful and caring-​and they do not try to push you into expensive treatments that will do nothing but stress out your pets– and ironically even though this center is in Walnut Creek and not Concord, so far we have spent far less than we ever did at Sage.
But most importantly we trust the doctors and staff and know that they are there for us and our pets!

UPDATE TO REVIEW POSTED ON AUGUST 30, 2015
I still will not change my rating of Sage Centers and, in fact, would give them a zero if I could. However, I think it only fair to update everyone that as a result of my original Unilocal review (08/​30/​2015), the complaint I filed against them with the Better Business Bureau, and an email I sent to Sage Center executives about the treatment my dog received at the hands of one of their vets, Dr. Bruskiewicz, and its horrid aftermath, I was contacted by their quality control manager, Ms. Sonia Davis, in late September. Ms. Davis expressed deep compassion for the loss of my dog (something the vet never did!) and explained that my case had been reviewed by their internal committee. They decided to refund me the costs I had been charged for two procedures which had to be aborted because my dog’s heart rate starting failing under the anesthesia.
The money, which is significant, will not bring my dog back and I deeply feel the loss of her presence every day. However, it was helpful to both my mind and heart to learn that Sage Center does employ at least a FEW people of integrity for whom the quality of care is more important than the profit margin. Thank you Unilocal for your assistance with this matter; I learned you shared the review with them and that was one of the deciding factors to review my case. Thank you, Ms. Davis, for your outreach.

Today I was turned away from this Vet at 5am by Dr. Dannucci. My fancy was tachycardic, weak, dehydrated from vomiting. Pretty serious for a veteran ER NURSE to jump out of her bed… I was told in order to treat my 13 year old boxer I would need to give the emergency vet 1400 dollars up front before service. As I looked over the estimated services I noticed a lot of miscellaneous charges… I said to the vet tech since you can’t explain these miscellaneous charges I don’t want them. I wad then told that if I didn’t have the money I could open a care credit account. Money is not the problem in this case, the problem is expecting payment for services not received and a Veterinarians abuse of power and «cashing out» on people’s emotions. This place is horrible! I don’t care how many great reviews they Getty dogs would NEVER EVER get treatment here. BEEARE!!!

I took my Maltese here after she had a bad reaction to either a vaccine or topical flea treatment she had earlier that day. She had been treated initially by her primary vet but after a recurrence of uncharacteristic hyperactivity and labored breathing after hours, I rushed her over to Sage.
I came in around 10:00PM. I signed in and since there were a few pets ahead of us, we had a wait, no more than half an hour. There’s coffee, water, and granola bars for weary pet-​families that are waiting around.
When we got called in, she was seen by a vet tech and then the vet. Not sure of the vet’s name, unfortunately. Both the tech and then the vet listened to what I had to say and were very thorough with my Maltese.
What I really appreciated was that he had input on what we had experienced earlier and gave me advice for what to do (and what not to do) as she recovered. In particular, he had issue with some of the orders we had been given by our primary vet and gave his reasoning for it.
The evaluation was $ 105 — more expensive than your usual vet visit but then again, this was after hours at an emergency vet. Well worth the money for the treatment and advice.

This place is a financial joke. I watched a German Shepard walk out of the hospital yesterday with 3 broken legs and heard the staff talk about how it was literally a miracle this dog was alive after the surgery an in house dr. had to perform. I then over heard the staff quote $ 4,200 for to the owners as the final bill for the very badly injured dog.
I proceeded to talk to a specialist about my dogs «partially torn» leg ligament and was quoted $ 6,200 for surgery… A dog on its death bed after being hit by a car is saved for $ 4,200, but my dog who needs what was described as a «common surgery» for dogs was going to cost $ 6,200… please.
Shop other vets, or even make the drive to UC Davis if you can — skip over this path to bankruptcy. This is the second time I’ve tried this location and literally been beyond offended by the price they are trying to charge to keep my pet heathy. First time the vet was adamant about keeping my dog over night for consuming cannabis and wanted to charge me $ 1,800… I told them they were crazy and they eventually let me leave paying $ 12 for charcoal pills… $ 1800 down to $ 12… pretty big swing in fees and need for care… Are you trying to save my dog, or trying to save for your annual Caribbean cruise?
Telling me its $ 6,200 (average american’s incomes $ 27,000 annually) to help my dog is basically telling me to amputate its leg (which I assume is cheaper than $ 6,200), or put it to sleep… two beyond unreasonable options. I will never recommend this location to anyone unless you yourself are a dr. and can afford the outrageous prices.

I visited this place for the first time Tuesday ⁹⁄₂₉ after running tests $ 800 dollars later they discovered what was wrong with our dog, I was told he would need emergency surgery, the estimate they gave me was at the very least it would cost $ 5,000 and the highest it would cost $ 6,000-$ 6,500. It was nearly 2am and I was at a loss. I decided to hold off and find a different place. I knew I would be spending a large chunk of change to save him, but I was in utter disbelief this was a sane amount to spend. I knew I had to shop around yet had very little time, he was dying. I ended up finding Ark Pet Hospital in Antioch and scheduled surgery for him that day! I ended up paying $ 2,580. I highly recommend Sage for non vet hours for testing! I would not recommend this place to do any surgical procedures. Despite of the staff being overworked IMO they were extremely kind and compassionate.

Had to put my loyal dog down and looked for a local nearby veterinary. Open 24 hours, aim for non-​primetime hours if you want to avoid waiting times. Great service, all staff friendly and communication was A+ … one thing that differentiated this vet from others was the phone service immediately able to go over pricing options and exactly what a customer could expect in the process of euthanizing a pet. Prepared, the whole process took one hour in and out. Highly recommended.

We started our chihuahua on chemo for cancer Monday. The Dr was very clear but understanding regarding the possible outcomes. Today our family had to put her to sleep and though it was painful, the staff were very professional and concientous. I commend them, as they probably deal with this on a regular basis, for helping to ease our pain and grief.

I was a wreck yesterday when I came home to find my kitty under the covers of our bed laying in a puddle of his own bile. It was apparent that he had been throwing up all over the house for hours before making his way to favorite hiding spot. I called his vet but was immediately referred to Sage. I took him in without hesitation.
The doctor was very sweet. He took his time with Jake and was patient and compassionate towards me. Keep in mind I was in a panic. I was sobbing and basically refused to leave my cat. They did some blood tests, took an X-​ray, gave him some fluids and meds, and administered an enema. All-​in-​all it was a very expensive day but it could have been far worse. The doctor personally checked in with me every step of the way. He worked with me to keep the cost as low as possible while still being thorough. I was able to bring Jakers home with me the same night and today he’s definitely well on the road to recovery. I couldn’t have asked for better treatment for my baby boy and I’m forever grateful to the staff at Sage for it.

My dog, Neeko, was very sick. And I finally persuaded my father to take him to the vet. We tried several different places closer to home, but no one would treat or even check my dog. Then we came across Sage. And thank God we did.
Once we walked into the Emergency section of the facility, there was a little wait (about 30 minutes). My father dealt with paperwork while I sat with my dog outside in the back of our truck. He was so weak that he couldn’t get up on his own. When we were finally called in, a few of the employees came out with a gurney to wheel my dog in.
The next few hours that I spent there… although heartbreaking, the service was very, very accommodating. Dr. Lane was the main person who dealt with my dog and she was very nice and straight-​forward about what needed to be done. We decided to get some diagnostics ($ 900-​$ 1100). These tests took about an hour and a half. When she came back with the results, it didn’t look very good at all. My dog was experiencing liver failure and her recommendation was to let him go. This was a difficult decision to make. And she knew that. So she gave me and my father some time to discuss and decide.
When she came back, we agreed that it was time to let him go. And she gave us some paperwork to finalize the overall payments. It was about $ 300 more to put him to sleep and have him in a communal cremation.
Then, we finally got to say our goodbyes. We were put in a dark room and they brought our beloved dog in. We spent about an hour and a half saying our last words and thanking him for being such a great dog. Then we called Dr. Lane in and she walked up through the steps and how the medication puts him to sleep first so he doesn’t feel any pain.
After she checked his heart and confirmed he was gone, she left us and gave us a few minutes to take in everything that just happened in those few hours.
We are very thankful for all the help and understanding that Sage provided for us. Neeko was our first dog. And we have never experienced anything like this. Although it was heartbreaking and difficult, they tried their best to cater to us.

Experienced staff who truly care for the animals, not just the money.

the money-​grubbing nature of our over-​priced health care system is extending into veterinary medicine — it’s now the norm for me to get some crazy recommendation from some over-​aggressive vet to perform some extremely expensive procedure on my dog. perhaps it’s the ‘Crazy Lady with Buckets of Cash’ label I have stamped on my forehead.
anyhoo, this review is about SAGE and not my face art. alls I have to say is that when a vet surgeon forgoes any hope of purchasing the latest Choo’s, looks me in the eye and tells me my dog does not need surgery, then that vet is not only a keeper but should be President.
super sweet staff, clean and spacious facility, and real grass areas out front, to boot.

Out of all the Vets ive been too. Sage is the best I must say. My Cookie loves this place. Soon as we get there & I open the car door. She takes off & runs in there. She never like going to the Vet before. She stayed @ Sage for almost two weeks. Which seemed like forever for me. I wanna give a special thanks to all the wonderful staff that help Cookie through this difficult time. Nurse Ashley & the all Graveyard shift nurse’s that let me visit after hour’s. Dr. Richard Groff & Dr. Chuck Walls. You guys are the best. Thanks to all pretty receptionist lady’s at the front desk that I gave an attitude to from time to time. Sorry lady’s. Last thanks I wanna give a shot out to is the hospital manager Susan Ruland for making this big job happen. You were such a blessing. Working everything out wit my insurance company Trupanion. Who paid for 90% of Cookie’s big Vet bill. Now my story.
As I sat in my car with Cookie. Thinking about how I would come up with the money first. Witch was anywhere from $ 6300 to 8 grand. Susan & Dr. Groff came out to my car & said we will help you. I didn’t have $ 6300 to give them up front. My insurance company told me them they would pay them for sure. Have them call us. They bent some rules to help save my dogs life. I didn’t have any money in my pocket. They told me don’t worry about it & everything was worked out. I paid $ 700 out of that $ 6300. Everybody got paid. Sage really cares about the animals, it’s not just about the money. When I picked Cookie up to take her home I cryed. I think even Cookie was sad to go. I’m just glad I had insurance. I think every responsible dog owner should have it. I knew when I got my English Bulldog. I was going to need it. Thanks Trupanion & thanks again Sage for taken good care of Cookie. I wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else. Sage is Cookies new Vet. :-)

I was up very early Saturday morning feeding my newborn when I heard the cat throwing up. She had done it as well the day before and I was awaiting the morning to see if it improved or if a trip to the vet was in order. Unfortunately I looked down and saw blood in her puke and knew we must go in ASAP.
We arrived and were greeted right away. The receptionist peeked in on her to make sure it was not super urgent. I filled out the paperwork and once finished was roomed quickly. A sweet vet tech came in, took my kitty’s vitals and got the doctor. We saw Dr. mayfield who seemed very knowledgeable and empathetic. She ran some blood work, took X-​Rays and told us the kitty would be ok. They use digital X-​rays (much quicker than traditional) and did blood work in house. Yes our visit was expensive but where else can you go at 5 in the morning on a Saturday? I would not hesitate to go back if needed.
