The first time I came here last year, I was not impressed with how long the wait for the food was. However, I came here again recently and had a great experience. My husband and I were greeted promptly, sat immediately, and our server took our order and bought waters quickly. Our cocktails took about 2 minutes to arrive. The food took about 10 minutes to arrive. I was impressed by the portion size from the lunch menu. The lunch menu is very affordable and you get a lot of food. Everything we ordered came out nice and hot, and the meal was fresh. Was this the best Japanese food and sushi that I have ever had? No, but I thought our meal was great and priced just right. Even the cocktails were affordable.

very deceitful… went in after 9pm to order happy hour to go… I’m sorry happy hour is not to go. I said ok I’ll eat it here. ok go sit over there. I felt like I had the dunce cap on. No waitress ever asked if I wanted a drink or anything. I felt like I was on the island of misfit toys. Food came. she put it on the table and didn’t say a word. Udon soup was about 200 degrees. .on purpose I’m sure. Got my moneys worth but was made to feel like a cheapskate. Not friendly at all. Plus the DJ really sucks!!!

My return after seven years and they are still in business. That’s a good sign! A weekday lunch crowd filled the restaurant to almost full capacity. Orders were taken quickly and food arrived without any long wait. But afterwards, there was a wait for tea refills, the bill and takeout boxes. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced, but not to the quality and standards of other local Japanese restaurants.

We decided to try out a new place tonight. Glad we came here! We ordered a bento box with veg tempura, tonkatsu and sashimi. One of the better bentos I’ve had. Tempura was super crunchy and tasty. I’m impressed when the tempura stays crunchy till the last bite. We also ordered a spicy teriyaki chicken, which was more like salty teriyaki chicken. Didn’t like that one so much because it was over the top salty. We mentioned it to our server when she checked in on us and the explanation was that’s why it comes with a side of rice. She noticed we didn’t finish the chicken and offered another bowl of rice to go with it. We declined because we couldn’t talk another bite. We would come back again because the food is obviously good quality, just won’t order the spicy(salty) teriyaki chicken again. This will now be one of our top spots in the area.

They have the best vegetable tempura, so crispy and delicious! They have pretty servers and they are all very nice. A lots family came here to dine. We came here to watch warriors game on Memorial Day because the bar we planned to go was full. But the atmosphere was quite.

Walked in on a Saturday evening and got seated righted away. My husband and I sat in a large booth with comfy pillows that easily could have seated 8 people. The hot tea was steaming hot and full of flavor. My husband’a hot sake was very hot and very strong. We both ordered bento boxes.

First time having sushi since I’ve given birth to my 2nd baby. It was super delicious and it was very family friendly. My oldest son loved their lil children’s bento box dinner. He has the chicken teriyaki. Me and the hubby had their delicious sushi rolls. Out waitress was super nice. We were very satisfied with our service and our yummy food. We are most definitely going back here again. Next time it’ll be a date night with the hubby and without the kids! ‘s up for me!

This has turned into my daughter’s favorite Japanese Restaurant. We live in Oakley; however, she goes to school in Walnut Creek. We constantly find this as our«go to» Japanese restaurant for dinner and the place we go when we want to enjoy a wonderful sit down meal. Their sushi & appetizer menu offers their own creations that cannot be found in other places. My daughter loves the crispy roll, I love the Parmesan sea scallops and the entire family love their Bento boxes. A relaxing place to grab an in house or take out meal!

The majority of all the poor reviews on this place were either circumstantial or clearly from people who don’t know anything about sushi. After working as a chef at a Japanese restaurant on the East Coast for 4 ½ years I can promise you this is a quality restaurant. Before we get to these food, let’s just talk atmosphere. The restaurant is clean with a modern design. The fact that it is open late with a happy hour menu is great, as many other places at 9/9:30pm. Additionally, they have a DJ who is really really good IMO. While he’s not very interactive, he knows how to mix upbeat favorites and throwback. Negative side to happy hour sometimes brings out loud and obnoxious people. Outside of happy hour the price is a little more expensive than the few other places in the area. Food. They have a classic and unique sushi menu. With everything from your basic California to their in house baked scallop roll. If you don’t like sushi, then the chicken Teriyaki is a good basic choice. I recommend this place.

Ozora is definitely one of my favorite sushi spots in Concord. It’s a big restaurant so they can accommodate larger groups. The ambiance is nice and their dishes are very presentable. Service, portion size, food quality, sushi freshness — all A+. It’s a little pricey if you ask me but they have happy hour everyday after 9pm so I’m a happy camper! They have TVs and one huge projector. I really like that they always have the games on, so I won’t have to miss my Warriors game while having dinner!!! Not sure if it was a one time thing, but I went there one Saturday night(I usually go on weekdays after work) and they had a DJ. The DJ was great, he was playing a lot of 90s/00s R&B/hip hop throwbacks!!! Totally made my Saturday night sushi date 3x better… Lol! If you’re in the area looking for a sushi spot, try Ozora!

Consistenly good. Sushi, bento boxes are our standard orders. It’s rarely crowded so it’s very convenient when you dont have a lot of time. They seem to have an efficient system that keeps everyone happy.

I love Ozora, really. My boyfriend and I normally come here twice a month, we know a waitress, it’s a great spot. However, tonight I had THEWORST customer service experience. I work in customer service so I know what good service looks like and unfortunately ozora management did not exhibit that at all. I bought an expensive meal for our anniversary and halfway through the meal, my boyfriend found a caterpillar in his salad. I then found hair in my miso soup. This is understandable. However, when I called to mention the issue, hoping for a comp or refund I received so much push back and was hung up on. Upon calling back I asked to speak with a manager who after an argument agreed to refund me for one item and offered a free dessert. I understand they cannot refund an entire bill but when two dishes can’t be touched because they came with caterpillar salad, you should do all you can to rectify the situation. We will not be going back here.

I haven’t dined inside the restaurant and I always ordered to go so my review doesn’t include their service. However, whenever I call them to make an order, they are very kind and have never made any mistake. The food is really good I’ve never been disappointed. Especially I like the combo menu for lunch. Other Japanese restaurants don’t offer a good combination for bento(such as fish with fish or meat with meat, no sushi for the bento combo and etc.) but they have good selections. Would love to dine in sometime.

i used to come here weekly, then moved to concord, and haven’t been in about a year. I went here the other night and was so disappointed. They raised the price of my favorite roll by about 3 bucks, and seemed to raise the prices on multiple items. We went here for happy hour, which is why i originally loved this place, one of the only places around that stays open and encourages some night life — so they are awesome for that! — however, the music was so damn loud, the server couldn’t even hear us. I got the godzilla roll and the shrimp tempura roll — the shrimp tempurura was fine, but they covered my godzilla in so much mayonnaise based sauce, and MUSTARD — i literally started laughing when i ate it, i don’t really want mustard on my unagi… i don’t know anyone who puts mustard on their sushi. It straight up seemed like frenches yellow mustard. It was quite comical, but also just… really different to my past experiences with this resturant. Just giant, over priced rolls.

Well for me it couldn’t be much better than what I just had for food and service. I’d also have to say that there was plenty to see. Pretty, sweet, Asian ladies working there my server was Hannah. I ordered the tofu entrée item from the HH menu. This is when they have a DJ there. Not super crowded. Batman movie was playing on the TV. When the food came I was greatly impressed with the amount of food. This was my first time eating here. Getting back to the food, I was served plenty of food, salad, rice, and the tofu. Guess what? I had food left to take home. The restrooms are plenty clean. So I told the pretty, sweet angels that work there it was my first time. She asked«why?» Gr8 question I just haven’t eaten here before, not to worry I’ll be back

The food was really good and they had really great happy hour specials. I got the udon for $ 7.95! I like how they are open late on Friday nights. The miso soup could be a little more flavorful and so could the hot tea. It kind of tasted like water with a slight tea flavor. I did like the fact that when I asked for Tobiko on my roll they used Tobiko and didn’t try to cheat me by using masago. It was very tasty. The service was ok. Not bad but definitely not great. No offers of refills or checking in to see how our meals were. We flagged some on down for a dessert menu. And they didn’t clear the table before bringing the ice cream out which made it hard to share the tempura ice cream with all the dishes in the way. I had to ask someone to take the finished plates. But all in all, I’d come back because the food was good and the DJ was a great touch! He played really good music!

I’ve been here three times, and all three times I’ve ordered the same thing. So this review is solely on the Lion King Roll and service. It’s delicious! I always want to try something else, but every time I try I always think about how delicious the lion king roll is… and I end up order it instead of trying something new lol. Maybe next time, I’ll try something new. The service here is pretty decent. I’ve never had to wait to be seated, and I’ve been here on a week night, as well as on a Friday and Saturday night. On Friday nights, they have a live ‘DJ’, but he doesn’t really do much lol.

I’ll give this place a star or two just for the lunch special pricing($ 13.95 for 3 items including soup, salad, and rice). But for the actual food itself, I don’t recommend unless you’re are willing to compromise quality. It’s a shame I had such a bad experience. After seeing reviews on their amazing happy hour and night scene, I would have loved to like this place. For the 1 and only food compliment I will give: their steamed rice is oddly good. Perfectly textured, moist, and sticky but not too much. But speaking honestly, if the only compliment I can give is for the steamed rice… that says something. For the rest… I typically order rolls, but when I’m unsure about how good a sushi place will be, I will go with a simple bento box to test the waters. — chicken(drenched in tangy teriyaki sauce) — tempura(too fried and battered that it’s hard) — California rolls(DONOTORDER!!!) The California rolls were the tipping point for me, because I don’t know of many ways to mess that up besides freshness. However, not only were these not fresh(like when they’ve been sitting out), the crab meat in these tasted absolutely horrible — like gone bad horrible. I even sniffed it to make sure they weren’t rotten. I only ate one and was tempting to spit it out right away. Another one I tore apart to try and figure out what they added in there. I think they mixed some sauce with it that makes it taste completely different and alarming because it’s not how California rolls are supposed to taste. Call me picky, and maybe I am because I typically limit myself to 4 sushi places in the East/South Bay — Sen Dai(Milpitas), Cha Cha Sushi(San Jose), Satomi(Fremont), Aniki(Fremont) — but I would never go back here and don’t recommend it to anyone.

Found my favorite new sushi spot! and yes thanks to Unilocal and other fellow Unilocalers who helped me make my decision. Tucked away at a strip mall filled with other establishments, I spy Ozora Sushi! Walked in about 7p and the place was packed, but luckily we were seated right away. Ambiance was modern and spacious. A long stretch sushi bar against the wall and spacious room filled with Asian décor and plenty of seating. Extensive menu, but all I wanted Sashimi! and yes I like it RAW! HAHA I’ve learned in the last couple of months, that rolls make me full after like 4 pieces vs without it I can enjoy my food and no feel bloated afterwards. What did we order? Appetizers: Mix Tempura– perfect batter/crunch Ahi Poki salad-spicy and good serving Bento box w/3items picking-California roll, Beef short ribs, Chicken teriyaki Combo Sashimi –YUM! thick slices and some Roll which I can’t remember LOL but my fellow eater said it was delicious I’ve read they do have HH M-TH 9p-1030p and Fri-Sat 9p-12a I will definitely be back!
