This is NOT a good location for children. I have been to this lab several times and found it completely adequate — which is why the one star. But when we brought our toddler son here it was a nightmare. They should tell people that they are not experienced with, or equipped to handle, small children — before — they attempt the blood draw. They poked our son 4 times and he was beside himself upset about all of it and was wiggling and they had no idea how to handle it. Before it was over, he had four poke marks and had blood running down one of his arms. My husband was furious and told them after three pokes that they had one more chance or he was taking our son out of there. They finally got the draw — but our son literally had nightmares for weeks afterwards. Do not bring your children here — they have no idea how to handle it. Our son just had his second blood draw at a different lab and it was scary for him — but it required only one poke and it was done expertly. He even stopped crying and watched — such a drastically different experience.

Living in the Clayton Valley area, always having to drive 25 to 30 minutes to get a blood test, it was a big deal to have Muir Labs(now LabCorp) open in our neighborhood. The phlebotomists are friendly and efficient, and expert at inserting a needle as painless as possible! It’s always worthwhile to make a reservation at in advance to minimize your wait time. One hitch: my wife did this but still ended up waiting over half an hour. Turns out it’s not enough to make a reservation, you have to make sure you check the«have a reservation» box on the sign up sheet! If you do this you are good — otherwise, not so much. This lab is impossible to see from the street, and I’m sure many people are not aware it’s there. I certainly passed this location for years without realizing there are offices in this small, nondescript office park. Here’s how to find it: it’s on Clayton Road between Talisman Way and Ayers, on the opposite side of the street from the Kmart shopping center. Its driveway is almost directly across from Kmart(look for the small«Clayton Road Offices 5167 A-H Clayton Rd» sign marking the driveway). Even once you are in the driveway of the office park it’s hard to find. Look for Office H on the Ayers side of the parking lot. There are some minor issues, but for locals, it’s hard to find fault with a lab that saves you a bit of driving!
