La paleteria has good fresh juices but their food is not so great. I forgot it was disappointing one time I tried their Lomo torta and bought some last friday. 2 lomo tortas and a kids sandwich. didn’t get a sandwich instead they gave me a cheese quesadilla. The tortas were soggy and only live 3 minutes away! The Lomo was not authentic Mexican lomo, this lomo seemed shredded and marinated, not very good.

This review is just about the super Nachos. Hungry for Nachos, but huge line at my usual place close by I thought I give it a try. Big mistake. Ok meat, chips etc, but made with that yellow plastic tasting stuff they use at ballparks. No self respecting Taqueria should use that stuff.

Una estrella porque la comida esta bien! pero las que trabajan haí siempre estan enojadas! No tienen actitud para vender o no les gusta su trabajo.

This review is mostly good because of Teresa, she is the nicest of them all. Prices are way too expensive, more so than Starbucks. Coffee was good, tortas were OK. Won’t come back though.

Only one star because the food is okay. I started coming here because it reminded me of my childhood in Mexico. «Liquado»(milkshakes) and«tortas”(sandwich) every Saturday with my parents in «el centro»(downtown). I got to admit the food is okay never had a problem but the service is HORRIBLE! The lady at the cashier is rude and disrespectful, no type of customer service whatsoever. Today is my last time here! $ 23 dollars for two sandwiches and a milkshake Yes is pricey too!

Very fresh produce and delicious food and friendly service, I got an awesome chicken quesadilla from the food counter while I was there in addition to some other goodies from the grocery side but just make sure you know if you’re paying by card on the grocery side there’s a $ 5 minimum, I don’t mind but just in case you’re running in for a coke or something like that make sure you’re paying cash or you’re prepared to buy extra stuff which would probably do you good anyway because they have a good selection and super fresh meat and believe me I’m very snobby about this sort of thing!

Veggies, fruit cocktails, smoothies, sandwiches, $ 5 minimum on credit card/ATM cards. Very spacious and open space with lots of great food neighbors. Recommended. The one negative is the lack of lock ups for people that ride their bikes.

Went today to get a strawberry mango smoothie and I had a very bad experience, they forgot to make my smoothie after I waited for 30mins and they are very disorganized, they don’t even hand/give you your receipt after paying, I’m very upset

I was waiting for a nearby shop to finish fixing my car and wandered in here. Wow, they have some really great looking and unique stuff. I got a simple strawberry shake and it was off the chain good. Give this place a try if you’re near by, you won’t regret it.

I love the drinks here, I almost always order them whenever I’m in the area and I’ve purchased quite a few of them to go to spoil my staff.

Great place to get yummy tortas and Mexican ice cream! We have also tried the bionico here although the one at Tortilleria El Molino is still the best. Great, authentic flavors for the ice cream and juices.

Very cute little store. Paleteria roughly translates to ice cream parlor. So, like everyone else mentions, the best stuff here are their ice cream bars, smoothies, and dessert drinks. Since they had a great selection of tortas and sandwiches, I came here to try their cuban tortas and agua frescas(fresh juice) for lunch. The torta was a fair price(competitive with the other torta shops in the area) and was freshly made and pretty decent. They have different selections of their agua frescas, and I decided to have their horchata. It was the perfect consistency at a great price too. Overall, I had a good experience. Decent food and a decent price in the area. Even though I was clearly an outsider, the staff was very nice. Only problem is that this store is slightly lost in the shopping center. It’s the shop in the corner, and to the right of the Afghan market and the Mexican supermarket.

I live in Fremont but i’d say that a drive up is worth it just for a fresh fruit Bionico. It’s like cereal with melted ice cream, mixed fresh fruit and some coconut. Absolutely amazing stuff. Their fresh ice cream Popsicles are quite nice too. Looks like they recently added cold sandwiches to their menu. I’ve tried the Bionico at other places and so far. nothing compares… even close.

WHOoo! Who doesn’t LOVE $ 1 tacos? $ 1 tacos that are actually filling and delish. And even with a $ 12 tab for two people, they still serve your table chips and salsa. What a steal =) Soft double tortillas, flavorful and TENDER meat(most carne asada I eat in the US is tough/overcooked) and I’m still not over the fact that they’re only a $ 1. Horchata was meh… I’ve had better. but I’d definitely come back to try all their other tacos. There was a list of like 15 different meat options! Approved!

When my coworker first recommended this place to me, I thought he was playing a joke on me! Tucked away into a small shopping plaza on the side of Monument Boulevard(near the bowling alley, use this as a landmark for all you delicious taco seekers), actually finding the restaurant was a practice in logic and worthy of inclusion in the Google resume process. However I did find the place by strolling into the only store marked simply«Taqueria» on the overhead sign and magically found myself transported to a land of delicious cheap Mexican food and soft crooning Mexican love songs(both pluses!). I’ve had the pleasure to try almost all of their $ 1 soft tacos over the weeks, along with their ceviche tostada and shrimp/carne asada taco salad — all of which excellent. Their soft tacos are incredibly soft and well flavored, with each taco coming on two dense soft corn tortillas with lime and radish on the side. My two favorites are the carne asada and al pastor. Their ceviche tostada was very good, and reminded me of some ceviche I had while on the beaches of Cabo Del Sol(this is a great thing). However, their grilled shrimp and carne asada taco salad stole my heart. As a consummate shrimp and steak lover, this was my dream salad: heaps of delicious mouth watering carne asada and shrimp crammed into a giant taco shell, with only hints of rice and lettuce to get in the way. Plus when you order this you can add any soft taco on the menu for only $ 0.35, making this a great item to share. Add a $ 1 Mexican ice cream bar from the attached grocery store for the perfect end to a delicious low cost meal. Two reasons why I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5: the Horchata was made with actual cinnamon sticks, which makes it too sweet and gritty for me. Additionally, if you come at the tail end of meals you will sometimes get meat that is too heavily marinated(bottom of the tray). Cool side note: the seating area is next to the sodas and pinatas. Nothing like speculating on what flavor Inca cola actually is while sitting under a giant paper mache Dora the Explorer.

I really like this place. What I have eaten so far and liked… Soft taco’s with carne asada al pastor pork. Chorizo and egg burrito with the works. Shrimp and steak taco salad. Drinks Horchata and their auga frescas. There is nothing there I don’t like, but have many more menu items to try. They were open at 0800 this morning, got my burrito and laid waste to my hangover.

Had their Carnitas, Al Pastor, Carne Asada, and Spicy Chicken tacos. The Carne Asada had good flavor, but kind of chewy. The rest are really good, especially the Carnitas. Also had their Spicy Chicken nachos and it is also pretty good, and they give you a lot of chickens. The free chips and salsa was ok. the salsa was fresh but lacking something in the flavor. The chips were fresh and not too oily.

First off, I was turned on to this place by a buy-one-get-one-free coupon in the Valu-Pak(because I’m classy like that), so if you’re looking for a bland-but-chic gringo fiesta, try Chevy’s. They’ll humor you there. It took a few turnarounds and a mild hunger-induced panic attack to find this place, mainly because the map on the back of my coupon was entirely faulty and led me to a Subway. After finally finding it(it’s next to Diablo Lanes bowling alley, and there seems to be at least 4 places named ‘Guadalajara’ in that strip mall) parking is easy and plentiful. Going in the front entrance of the supermarket, you need to turn right and head towards the Pixar pinatas. Once you see the questionably granite counter and the laminate tables, you have arrived to my personal Heaven. For $ 6.25 I got the chicken tamale combo plate, which came with 2 excellent tamales, a generous amount of rice and refried beans(you can also go with whole pintos), 4 hot flour tortillas(corn is also an option), a laughable cabbage heap that was basically a cup of thousand island with a few shreds sprinkled on top(like you were going to pretend you were eating healthy anyway), sour cream, guacamole, and not to mention free salsa and chips. I brought a Coke because I’m a cheap bastard, but the free water was also refreshing. The girl at the counter was amazingly nice, and the food came up fast and hot. In the end I got full after only eating half my meal, I got my boyfriend’s carne asada quesadilla for free(the coupon, but would have been a steal at around $ 4), and the giant Coca-Cola semi in the parking lot when we left had double-parked everyone in but me. Could you really ask for more? I didn’t think so.
