Still on the hunt for a good wing place in Columbus. Family in Chicago gave Wing Stop high marks, and the statements they make about no microwaves, heat lamps, or holding bins seemed to point to good things. Unfortunately, the wings had to have been cooked a while before we picked them up, as they were dry and not hot at all. The lemon pepper made the wings taste like fried fish and the regular hot was not spicy. The fries tasted OK but were mushy and lukewarm.

I had high hopes for this place and I keep getting coupons in the mail so I decided to give it a try finally. The service wasn’t bad, but it did take quite a while to prepare my order. I didn’t experience the beverage problems that another reviewer discussed, and I quite liked the tea. I ordered a boneless wing combo with fries that was half mild and half BBQ. The BBQ was beneath the mild on the spice chart, but had significantly more heat than the mild. The flavor of the sauce wasn’t bad on the BBQ, it was very heavy and thick though. If you like a thick, spicy honey BBQ sauce you’ll enjoy Wingstop’s. The mild wings however had a lot of sauce yet still were dry and lacking in flavor. I can’t describe it because it wasn’t a dry rub it was almost like they were frozen wings that were baked the day before, refrigerated and then reheated and served the next day. Both flavors of wings were just sort of floating in a little pool of grease rather than sauce. The texture of the meat was very greasy and soggy. I ate three and a half wings before giving up on my 8 piece combo. I initially thought maybe if I’d had a different sauce than the mild I would enjoy them but the flavor and texture of the meat was just awful. As far as wing places go I just felt these were way too greasy and lacking in sauce and somewhat in flavor. On the bright side I did really enjoy the fries. They were seasoned perfectly with salt and a pinch of sweetness. They weren’t greasy and they had the perfect texture. I had never had fries like theirs and they were awesome! As much as I disliked the wings I can say I would definitely go back for the fries they were filling and delicious, and honestly saved this review from being a 1 star review.

The only reason they are getting 4 stars and not 5 is because their wing size is a little on the small size. Their flavors are so good though my favorite is the lemon pepper, So good!

Employees are a little rough. Customer service comes second to just getting you in and out. I was a little disappointed they don’t deliver. They also mixed my wings even though they were different flavors. No napkins. No wet wipes. Food is ok. But they do have a couple TVs and a cool glass to watch em work. Bathrooms were clean. Not a bad deal for the price.

My wife and I absolutely love this place. We’re eating some wings from here right now and they’re so good I am inspired to write a review about them. I’ve only been in Columbus for a short time, just moved up from the south where these are abundant, and this location is at the top of my list as far as quality and friendliness. In the five or six times that I have ordered from this location, I have not had anything bad to say.

I came here on my first visit yesterday. The girl at the counter was VERY nice, helpful, and explained everything. I ordered 15 boneless wings(BBQ and Teriyaki) and a large cheese fry. It was 60 cent boneless wings since it was Monday so I ordered a few more than normal. The wings had a heavy coating of batter on some of them but they were cooked nicely. However they were drenched in sauce that overpowered them. The teriyaki was very strong and the bbq was thick and had a strange flavor to them. The blue cheese was not good unless you like really watery sauce with a couple specks of blue cheese. On to the fries. Hot damn! These were amazing. I got them with the seasoning on them and it wasn’t too bad. What REALLY made these great was the cheese sauce. For about $ 3.50 I got a huge mound of fries and a massive cup of cheese. Get this– it was enough for all the fries I had and I use a lot. This was a meal in itself and I will probably be going back very soon just to get the cheese fries. The drinks were good for me despite having bad reviews at other times from other people. The cups themselves were very thick and sturdy. You never really think about that but these were so heavy duty that I noticed right away. To sum it up: Get the cheese fries Get sauce on the side Enjoy

I had a craving for chicken wings one random afternoon and popped in here for a quick bit of immediate gratification. I ordered an 8 piece boneless wings(not the combo) and got the original hot. The boy had a 10 piece boneless with the lemon pepper(it’s his favorite). The wings were cooked very nicely, crispy enough that they didn’t get soggy on the drive home but not so crispy that the meat had dried out. Now, the heat of the original hot may be too hot for some people but it’s really about a medium-hot heat level… now, what is somewhat obnoxious is that you have to buy carrot/celery sticks, they don’t come with your order. I can’t speak to any improvement in the fountain drinks, I’d hope that they figured out a way around the odd tasting water in these parts. But, it may be a bigger problem than Wingstop can solve. At any rate, this is a good place to try if you’re in the mood for wings but not in the mood for the usual places.

As the one time webmaster of and recognized Buffalo Wing Expert by Drew Czera, the Official Wing King of Buffalo NY, I do know wings. Buffalo Wings anyway. I’ve only been here once, so I’ll say they are off to a good start. As a rule for a first time we always go to what is frequently described as BUFFALOHOT. On their menu Buffalo HOT is the 3rd highest in heat. Regardless of what you think about Buffalo Wild Wings, I use their sauce heat levels as a guide as they are consistent. I would call this a medium heat. Your not going to find anything like a killer heat here. But the heat will be pleasant for most people. The taste of their hot buffalo sauce is not just another Cayenne based«Franks» style. It had a little bit of a black pepper taste and it was good. Its definitely not a knock off of any other. These wings are cooked very crispy, which is a plus in most people’s book. When the wings are cooked this much, two things happen. 1. The meat and skin can get a little dry. In that case I wish they had more sauce on them. I probably could have gotten some more. When a sauce is a killer hot, more sauce just makes it worse heat wise or messier to eat, but these could have used a little more sauce. 2nd they advertise their wings are fresh not frozen and the glimpse into the kitchen verifies this. When they are cooked this crisp, the skin can take on some of the same characteristics of frozen wings. They say they cook theirs 17 minutes. I’m going to say from experience, this maybe about a minute too long. We got a 2 person meal of 15 wings, 2 drinks, and a generous order of fries. The fries had a lot of seasoning salt which is usually done to cover up questionable quality fries. These seemed like good fresh cut fries and I would probably ask for them without the seasoning. Just MHO. I will be back to try other flavors and the boneless soon. Glad to have them in the Northland area!

After two more visits, I’m dropping my rating from four stars to two, for several reasons: –The chicken, while tasty on my first visit, was soggy on both my second and third visits. The chicken strips, especially, were weirdly mushy. I tried five different sauces, and none of them blew me away. I still like the fries a lot, but my wife couldn’t eat them, as she said they were far too salty. –The online ordering process is absolutely absurd for 2013. When you order online, the order isn’t placed immediately through the restaurant’s computer system, as you would expect. Instead, a fax is sent to the restaurant, and a cashier must grab the fax and enter the order manually. I found this out because, the third time I ordered online, I arrived at my given time and discovered my order hadn’t even been put in yet, the reason being the fax line was busy. Crazy. –Also after my third visit, my debit card was charged twice for my food. The manager was not able to credit my card over the phone, so I had to stop back in to the store to get my money back. While everyone involved in the process was friendly and apologetic, nothing was offered to make up for my inconvenience. But the bottom line is the food quality. I may give them another chance after a few months, but not now.

Based upon what looked like favorable reviews I decided to give this place a try. I was really disappointed with the experience. I ordered the 10 wing combo that comes with fries, a drink and 1 dipping sauce. I split the order into 5 mild and 5 garlic Parmesan. The drinks from the fountain machine were putrid. I tried Raspberry Ice Tea and then Dr Pepper and both were bad and putrid. I asked if there was something wrong with the machine and the server said she would have someone check the ice tea as there was now another 2 people who tried it and nearly spat it back out. I told the server that both drinks were bad and tasted strange and was their water filtered or not but she did nt know. She tried a sip of her own drink that was sat behind the counter which I assume she had just got because her reaction and subsequent face was confirmation that I was not imagining it. I asked to exchange the fountain drink to a bottle and was charged additional money and never even an apology. When the wings and fries came after a long wait the also tasted strange and the sauces were terrible. The fries were so over seasoned i could not eat them! I had hoped at some point I would be asked if everything was ok giving me a chance to comment but was never asked. The only good part about it was the blue cheese dipping sauce. In my humble opinion if what I experienced was their modus operandi then all I can say is I do not think they will last! So far BW3 is the best wings in Columbus hands down.

The food was pretty good. Wasnt a fan of not being able to use more than one coupon or them not having any dessert.

After reading Dennis’s and the other reviews, I headed over there to write one of my own. It looks to be pretty small on the outside, but there’s more room inside than you’d imagine. And they have a larger menu than you’d think also. I went over today because I’d heard they had sliders. And they did, so I ordered two of them. They took a while to get to me but whwn they did they were pretty darned good! They had my choice of sauce(habanero) and a few pickle chips. That was enough to fill me up for lunch. I’ll have to go back over and try their wings.

Delicious. Great service. The Parmesan garlic sauce is to die for! Will be coming back here much more often!
