I decided for my birthday that I wanted to go out for karaōke. I’m a karaōke fiend and the one thing I haven’t tried is a private karaōke room. I did a little bit of Unilocaling and found The Voice. It’s a bit hard to find from the street, but fans of the Bier Stube will know that it’s just next door. The outside doesn’t look like much, but the owners really put a lot of money and effort into the inside. There’s a bar with fun LED lights and new fixtures. The drink prices are a little bit more expensive than an average bar, unfortunately. The staff showed me and my party(about 10 people) to a medium sized room, which costs $ 70 an hour. There’s a smaller one that’s $ 50 and an even smaller one that’s $ 30. The prices are a little much, but the rooms are nice, comfortable with a HUGETV and a good sound system. The staff was helpful when we had an issue with the system and it needed to be reset. We had an insanely good time singing together! If you are a karaōke fan like me and don’t want to battle the crowds and wait forever for your song to come up, this is a fun option. There’s a good deal for 10 people, 3 hours and unlimited drinks for $ 350. I didn’t take them up on it since I had members of my party that don’t drink. It would be worth it for a bachelor/ette party or some other big celebration!

This place was a lot of fun for a private party. The staff was very friendly. However, the karaōke machine in the room we rented did not work well. About half the songs we were trying to sing would not play and would default to a Japanese song. It became very frustrating and tiresome. If the machine were not an issue I would have given the experience 5 stars. However, we were there for the karaōke, so we expected it to work and were ultimately disappointed. It could have been a really great experience.

This place worked perfectly for my group. The song selection was good they didnt have all the most recent songs but had stuff at least up until the last mid 2015. They had three large screens in the lounge and a bar. Drinks on average were about 5 $. They don’t serve any food. They have several private rooms for rent but the lounge did not have many guests that Saturday night so my group of 15 just stayed in the lounge. The staff was accommodating helping us with the machine, adjusting lights and they also used a fog machine. The place is hard to find and not easily visible from high street. Its behind yaus kitchen and the entrance cannot been seen from Street because it faces the parking lot. They do have parking spaces which is convenient especially in the short north. If you are in the mood to sing, this place definitely is a good choice if you have a group.

Super new karaōke bar. Went during Christmas break on campus, hence not super crowded. There is a lounge area where you can sing. Private rooms are also available. Decently priced drinks($ 7 for a Hendricks and tonic, $ 5 for a Bulleit on the rocks). Definitely returning.

This is a fairly new karaōke bar that opened up in the University District. It is behind Yau’s Chinese Bistro, its entrance faces South into a parking lot. When you walk in, there is a full bar and bathrooms to your right and a medium-sized public karaōke/dance floor in front of you. To the left there is a hallway with a few private karaōke rooms ranging from small to large. The establishment is dimly lit with lots of modern disco lights. Staff is courteous and attentive. If you rent a karaōke room they give you complimentary snacks including peanuts, grapes, and shrimp chips. ;-) The biggest plus about this place is their music selection. There is something for everyone: K-pop, American pop, hip-hop, alt rock. I am obsessed with music and was impressed that they had several tracks from Paramore, Coldplay, Linkin Park as well as Chris Brown, Usher, and R. Kelly. They even had throwback faves like Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears. If you want a private room, I recommend coming earlier in the night rather than later because they can fill up fast. When I wanna sing my heart out with my friends, this is my spot!

I’ve been to many karaōke place and I’d have to say that this place is by far one of the best I’ve ever been to. Having only been open for a little bit over one month, this place is brand spanking new. I’d urge anyone who loves to karaōke TOGO before the place ages. Décor is super modern and the karaōke machines are state of the art(TOUCHSCREEN!!). I’m used to most karaōke places being sticky and the facility was extremely clean(possibly because it is new but I hope it can stay that way). We arrived at 8PM and the place was pretty empty. A few of us hadn’t eaten yet so we went to get some food. By the time we came back at around 10PM more of the rooms were filled up. With a party of 6, we ended up getting a medium sized room because that was the smallest they had at the time($ 50 per hour— but small rooms at $ 30 per hour can fit up to 6). The hostess(also the co-owner) was also super sweet! She took the time to explain to us how the touch screen worked and also brought us complimentary snacks for FREE. We got shrimp chips, peanuts, and grapes! I think this was the first time I’ve ever received snacks at a karaōke joint. Drink prices were also reasonable and ranged between $ 4 – 7; we got a jack and coke for $ 6. The only downside is, they seemed to be pretty overwhelmed when the crowd started increasing. I can tell that the staff were having trouble keeping up. Also this is not exactly the business’ fault but when the drunk bros and hoes come in, they can get pretty rowdy. I can see this nice facility getting destroyed by people like them. Additionally, song choices were a little bit limited because they didn’t have the most recent top hits but they did have pretty much everything else(even system of a down!!!). Overall: +1 star for the nice modern facility with touchscreen karaōke +1 star for friendly staff +1 star for cleanliness +1 star for the complimentary snacks +1 star for the reasonable prices I had a very positive experience and I’d definitely come back.

Super fun little off campus karaōke spot! The décor in the lounge /bar area is very modern and sleek! The private rooms are cozy and perfect for small groups. Super affordable for small parties during the week as i think it’s like half price or something. Bartenders /staff are friendly and helpful and the service is quick. Highly recommended!
