Decent place nice décor. Presentation I’ll give a 9, fries I’ll give a 8 and the burger I’ll give a 7 good but not great!

The atmosphere in this restaurant is nice and spacious and food is delicious at reasonable prices. I had the house salad and for $ 5 a very good size and delicious. My son and his friends each had a burger and they all really enjoyed them. They remarked, «very tasty» and each was served with fries and onion rings. You order at the counter, given a buzzer that beeps when your food is prepared. The guy at the counter even came by to check on us to make sure everything was prepared properly. Definitely worth a return!

I very much enjoyed The Chop Shop. I have been here twice now, both burgers were pretty darn good. The blue cheese burger wasn’t too bad but I preferred the beef and veggie double. I am keen to try the veggie burger solo as a good veggie burger is hard to find. I will say my favorite are the fresh cut fries. done up with chili cheese and bacon. I was pleasantly surprised to see a decent(full of local) craft beer selection. A good lunch or diner spot I am going to visit again. The only downside I found was the music was extremely over powering. I didn’t dislike what they were playing by any means but it made conversation a little difficult. My first time here this was not the case but was my second visit. I will keep coming back though for sure.

Excellent burgers and an awesome place to hang out! Shakes were yummy as well. Never order fry for just yourself! The dry portions are HUGE! I always take any of my out of town friends there. They even have a vegan burger available! I would highly recommend trying chop shop!

I have been coming to Chop Shop regularly since it opened its doors in the spring, and have introduced several people to it. It’s a truly beautiful restaurant – one I hope stays a part of the University District scene for years. Because of my positive experiences, I recently decided to host a small event(35 people) in their private room upstairs(«Tin Room») on a Wednesday night. Everyone was impressed with food quality and cleanliness of the venue. The bartender, Elaine, was particularly kind and outgoing and very engaged with our attendees. Sean, the store supervisor, checked in multiple times to make sure things were running smoothly. Their management has a sincere and intense desire to create an inviting and enjoyable experience. The store supervisor and owner each followed up after the event to ensure my event experience was up to expectations. I look forward to hosting future events at Chop Shop and will certainly recommend it to friends and other organizations.

Chop Shop is a newcomer to the campus area, but don’t let that fool you. Chop Shop has an exceptionally well designed, spacious interior with plenty of available seating. There are TVs all throughout the restaurant all displaying different sports channels, but they’re understated to make Chop Shop feel like an upscale burger joint as opposed to a sports bar. The burgers are made with fresh ingredients, and it definitely shows. All of my friends enjoyed their respective burgers, especially the Western Burger. I personally enjoyed a Blue Buffalo burger and fries. The blue cheese they used for it was amazingly tasty and the buffalo sauce added a nice balance to the cool blue cheese. Their fries are reminiscent of Five Guys, and are really tasty with the optional malt vinegar offered. Overall I’d recommend Chop Shop for its great décor and amazing value, with a small fry(a very healthy portion), a specialty burger, and a soft drink only being $ 10. They also have hot dogs, which I didn’t get to try, but they appear to be pretty tasty as well, especially if the burgers are any indication.

Honestly everything that could have went wrong here, did. The place looks nice enough inside. I actually really liked the atmosphere. We ordered our food and the personnel were pleasant. Upon getting our food, however, I saw that the burger I ordered was not correct, which was fine enough I just took off the toppings I didn’t want. Beyond that, the bun was hard and stiff. It was almost like stale bread, but I believe it was just badly toasted. The burger itself was also bad. It was salted to the point where I couldn’t taste the actual meat. For such an expensive burger I was expecting something much better. Definitely not going back and I encourage others to do the same

The food selection is extremely limited. Great restaurant atmosphere but the menu needs to be improved.

Chop shop is the Zeus of burger places on campus. It is the God that resides on Mt. Olympus. It commands the top spot of campus burger venues. The western burger is a creation by Zeus himself, shooting lightning bolts at the weaker burger gods. Poseidon McDonald’s and Hermes Burger King are no match. Treat yourself. You won’t be disappointed. 5/5, would eat here again.

I read the reviews and everyone saying how big this place is so I knew it was big. Then I got there and it was twice as big as i was expecting. I have a feeling it is going to be a madhouse when school is back in session. The place itself is designed super modern and I find it very aesthetically pleasing. The front windows opening up create a great breeze and as far as a place to chill out and have a drink I’m not able to cite much in the way of faults. As for the food… I had a cheeseburger and the regular fires. The burger ran just under $ 7 and was pretty solid. I think they could stand to have the patty just a little larger as it times it felt like the bun dominated the average bite portion, but the seasoning of the meat and whatever the little sauce they used was all worked really well. The cashier recommended the breakfast burger which i’ll give a shot to next time. I think if they put just a little more lettuce or a bit more meat in there they would be good to go, but as i had it last night for the price i’d grade it a B for overall taste to value. As a side note, I’m aware that I could have just gotten a second patty, but in my opinion usually a second patty destroys the taste of a burger and raises price and calorie count without really increasing the experience. The fries on the other hand were insane. The«regular» was easily enough for three people and they tasted great. I’d happily recommend any french fry lover to them. I’d describe them as nice big fair fries. Again the cashier recommended trying them with the cajun seasoning but i declined on that as well. Maybe next time. They have a full bar upstairs and downstairs a solid selection of beers on tap including cider. Looping back to how it seems like a good place to sit and chill I think the atmosphere combined with a good drink menu really gives the area a great choice for a resturant/bar hybrid. Parking was a pain in the ass, as it always is on campus. We didn’t find out until walking in the door that you’re allowed to park at the little bar which i’ll keep in mind next trip.

Wow! From what this place was in the past, it is a TOTAL transformation into a bigger more inviting place with great food and a very nice craft beer and bar selection. I’ve been waiting to try this place for quite some time and when i walked in, i realized why it took so long. Great job with the remodel. On to the food. There are options to build your own burgers or you can pick from one of their signature burgers. The Chop Shop cheeseburger is what i ended up getting. Along with an order of their fresh fries. The burger was Amazing, very good quality meat and cooked just right. The buns are from a local bakery and you could definitely taste the freshness. Their secret sauce added to the whole experience and rounded out with the burger perfectly. It was a mayo based sauce that had a little tangy and a little spice. Very good. The fries remind me of fair fries, taken up a notch. I loaded them with malt vinegar and ketchup. There was also a great selection of craft beers that it took me a while to decide what to have. There is a bar that features local Columbus breweries and i decided to get a CBC ipa AND a North HIgh Honey wheat beer. Then i went to the back bar named«the Tinroom» where all the windows opened up for an outdoor feel and they had even more of a selection of beer. It will take me a while to get through their list. I will be back multiple times and especially during football season!

I heard about this place a little while back and watched as it was built on High St. next to the B-Dubs on Lane. I then saw it open three weeks ago and waited and waited. and waited for someone to check it out and post a review, but that never happened. You’re slackin’ Unilocal!Well, the girlfriend and I were up that way this past week, so I figured now would be the best time to give it a shot. I forget the last place that was here, because it seems like a rotating door of restaurants and clubs that go into this spot and never last. The first thing you’ll notice as soon as you walk in is that this place is BIG, and then you’ll walk in even further past the counter to order, and you realize it’s even bigger than you thought. This is an upscale burger place that fits somewhere in between Five Guys and Flipside. You order up at the counter either from a number of premade burgers, or you can build your own. I opted for the Western Burger which had a big onion ring, bacon, cheese, and BBQ sauce on it. The girlfriend made her own. The patties are a ¼ lb, but you can add another for $ 3, so of course I did that just to see how big it would be. That, and I ordered a ‘small’ fry, Cajun style, but you can get them in a number of ways(Chili, parmesan garlic, etc.). Whoops, I ordered way too much food. They give you a buzzer, and you have a seat and wait for your food to be ready and then you’ll go pick it up at the counter once they buzz you. It took probably 5 – 10 minutes for our order to be ready, and upon seeing it, I don’t know how anyone could put down anything other than a small fry. The burger was big enough, but the fries were overflowing. The onion ring was gigantic, but I smashed that down and went to town on the burger. It was really tasty and the meat was actually a pretty high quality. The only complaints my girlfriend and I had was that the bun was maybe a bit dry. Other than that, the fries were awesome, especially with the Cajun seasoning, and the burgers were great. We tried some of the Chop Shop sauce on the side, and it was nice and tangy and really good. They also offer salads, shakes, and ice cream here. I didn’t get a chance to try any, since I was filled to the brim, but I may come back to try the shakes at some point. On top of great food, this place has a bar with a decent amount of craft beers on tap. Actually, this place has TWO bars. The second you can find past the ordering counter and up the stairs in the back. Man, I couldn’t imagine how they were going to fill this place, especially when they opened right when all the students left for the Summer. Apparently, they’re only open until 11 pm, which seems a bit odd to me since they are a bar and are surrounded by bars all open until 2 am. If you have a bar, let alone two bars, why are you closing at 11 pm on the Ohio State campus? I can imagine people wanting to watch games here and then having to leave before the game’s even over. How is that going to work during football season? Maybe they’ll extend the hours once the Summer is over. I just hope they make enough to last that long! I really enjoyed this place and hate to sound cynical, but I’ve seen how many businesses have been in and out of this prime spot on campus. I’m really pulling for them to succeed, because the food is surprisingly good. They have a pretty cool sign out front of the building that you can’t miss, so while the students are out for the Summer, now’s the best time to give it a go before it gets too crazy! P. S. You can park in the Little Bar parking lot!
