Sammy’s New York Bagels

These bagels are the best, better than NYC or Detroit, and definitely better than that Panera garbaggio. Try the salt!

I discovered these bagels at a café when getting a quick snack! I was told they were «Sammy’s Bagels» and that they would deliver if you ordered a dozen or more. I did a quick search online and gave a call only to have them delivered to my doorstep in less than 12 hours! Fresh, totally legit New York tasting bagels! And the delivery is free! I’m so particular about my bagels and these make Einstein Bagels, Panera, etc. fade in comparison. Thanks Sammy!!!

MY FAVORITE BAGELS ! I first tasted Sammy’s Bagrls when they opened a shop in the Lane Ave. shopping center many years ago. I was upset when they closed and later found a location on James Rd., close to.E. Broad St. Intersection. I was a weekly regular until they closed this location & thought I would never get another chance to have these wonderful bagels. Just recently discovered they had a listed location on Cassady Ave. But not a storefront. I am so happy to find them again ! My very favorite bagel is their «Black Russian» with their harden/​veggie cream cheese. YUMMY ! They also sell muffins. that are great too ! I have never seen a muffin as LARGE as what they sell, either. I hope they will always be available & NEVER disappear from my life ever again. They are the VERY BEST !

Sammy wholesales bagels and delivers them. Those are the first bits of information you need. Ordering is a breeze, it’s a simple online form. They’ll call and confirm your info. Once it’s on file, just tick the bagels you want (or danishes or cheese or breads) and submit. Tada! Simple.
I’ve never been disappointed by Sammy’s. Only once was something left off my order. In calling I even spoke with Sammy (he answered the phone) and all was sorted without issue.
Basically few things top waking to bagels on your porch nicely wrapped in a paper bag and a plastic one for good measure. Every morning of a Sammy’s delivery I open the door to gorgeous bagels. Then promptly tear into them like a kid excited about getting a present.
Toast them, that’s a given. You need to achieve that crunch. The chew that comes from the obligatory boiling they do, makes the bagel. ‘Bagels’ that haven’t been boiled aren’t bagels. #sorrynotsorry
Basically if you live in the delivery and do not order Sammy’s you are missing out. #getonit
Also, I’ve totally frozen them with good results. We’re a two person household and sometimes I use the frozen ones to make bagel chips.

Maybe Sammy’s is great. We won’t know because the address on Unilocal is a factory, don’t go if you are looking for a café.

The quality of bagels we received in our order were varied. Some were hard, compressed, flat, and dry — not a NY bagel. Others were more plump. My definition of a good NY bagel is a crisp exterior with a chewy interior. These were not that. Even the best ones in our batch were grocery store quality. Also, none of the flavored bagels had any flavor. The cranberry, blueberry, cinnamon raisin bagels tasted like plain bagels with an occassional piece of dried fruit here and there.

Good bagels. My favorites are the plain and cinnamon crunch. My wife liked the everything bagel, but it was a little too «everything» for me. We haven’t tried the pastries or muffins, yet.
Sammy’s killer app, if you will, is their delivery service. We woke up (thanks to the kids) at 630am on Saturday morning. After getting coffee started and getting everyone ready for breakfast, I remembered having ordered from Sammy’s the day before as a surprise for my wife. I opened our front door and, sure enough, a bag of bagels was sitting on our porch! How awesome would this be if you were having house guests?

Guest: Hey, what’s for breakfast?
You: What’s that? Breakfast? Well gosh, I hadn’t planned anything big…
Guest: Oh, ok. I’ll just have whatever.
You: Nothing big, except for all these fresh New York style bagels sitting here on my front porch!!! Boo yah!

I love these bagels! Simply the best authentic NY style bagels in Columbus. Plus they deliver to my door! The online ordering process was quick and easy. Since I was a first time customer, I got three bagels free. The girl I spoke to on the phone was very pleasant (I had a delivery question). Oh, and I also like their Bagel Ambassador promo where they «Bagel Blitz» your office. Check out their Facebook page for more info on that.
The only reason I’m rating 4 stars instead of 5, is because I was missing a bagel. I was not a huge deal since I got the freebies. It was just that it the one flavor I was looking forward to trying!
If you like the idea of opening your front door and being greeted by some authentic bagels with no delivery fee, I highly recommend you check them out. You won’t be disappointed.

One word I don’t use lightly… AMAZEBALLZ! They delivered right to my front porch. Wide range of bagels all with a great chewiness and still very soft inside. The perfect east coast bagel. Great with lox, cream cheese, tomatoes, capers, and onions, or even as a pizza bagel. The Sammy sticks were great too! I wish there was a store, but ordering online was pretty convenient. I’ll order from them very soon. HIGHLY recommended. We got some extra bagels being first time customers. Delivery is included. The posts below aren’t really correct. They don’t have a brick and mortar store, but fresh bagels on your front porch in the morning is even better.

This place is seriously wonderful. I’m from NY and these are some seriously good NY style bagels. And really what could be better than having then delivered to your doorstep. The selection of bagels is spectacular, and the prices are exactly what I would want to pay. Also a great idea to try out the muffins! They are GIANT!

Hol-​ly crap! Wow. What a treat!
While sitting with my patient and his wife one Wednesday evening, watching TV, and chatting about whatever came to mind, my patient’s wife suddenly turned off the TV, sat bolt upright, and stated with conviction, «I want bagels this week.» I was a bit perplexed. What’s the big deal about bagels? I mean, you can pick bagels up at any grocery at any time you like. At my obvious confusion, she began to explain the ins and outs of Sammy’s New York Bagels to me and I was intrigued.
First thing Friday morning, while my patient and his wife were sleeping the bagels arrived. I was tasked with bringing them in and getting the cream cheese into the fridge and, if I so chose, nicking an egg bagel for myself. The smell of those bagels was so amazing. I was salivating as I pulled out their cream cheese and popped it into the fridge. So, I of course had to try that egg bagel.
What a treat. I can say definitively that I have never had a bagel that was so simple, yet so good. With every bite I fell more and more in love — I couldn’t put it down! Faster than I’ve ever eaten a bagel before in my life, that egg bagel was gone. And I knew I had to have more again.
Fastforward to today, here I am sitting with my own bag of yummy Sammy’s Bagels goodness and I can’t wait to try every single one in that bag (we got a variety so we can figure out our favorites). I’ve tried the pumpernickel with veggie cream cheese so far, and, while I’ve never ever licked any variety of rye type bread before, it was delicious!
Do yourself a favor, give Sammy’s a call and have them deliver a baker’s dozen of their amazingly delicious bagels to your door as soon as you can!

My first «Sammy’s» was an everything bagel purchased from the counter of a small coffee shop wrapped in plastic wrap. I took it home and ate it untoasted with some cream cheese. I was in heaven! I went back to the coffee shop the next day and asked where my super chewy and delicious new bff came from and that’s where I heard the name «Sammy’s Bagels» for the first time.
By this point, Sammy’s walk-​in location was closed, but no bother because they deliver to businesses and homes alike… for free! There’s a minimum order required but that’s no problem because they freeze beautifully. In fact, whatever you’re not going to eat within 12 hours, I recommend throwing in the freezer. As far as the delivery… they come REALLY EARLY but you pay in advance so just let them know where you want the driver to leave the bagels and if you choose to tip, you can just leave it in an envelope taped to your door. It’s a wonderful thing to wake up a 7am and go out to my front porch and find a big paper bag of bagels sitting out there, just waiting for me to bring it in… the smell is out of this world.
I’ve ordered and tried just about every one of the many flavors they offer: they’re all great but I’m particularly in love with their everything bagels and Sammy Stix.
Before I submit an order, I send an email out to my neighbors to see if they want in on the awesome bagel action and I always have a few takers. You can easily order online or call in… the girl that always answers the phone is super friendly.
They whole reason I thought to write this review is because I’m just about to go place any order… you should too!
ps-​I almost forgot to mention that their cream cheeses are very tasty too! Love the veggie!

These are great bagels: Way better than you usually find in Columbus. They only deliver, though. Which, frankly, suits me just fine. I’d rather wake-​up to a dozen freshly baked bagels at my door than drag myself out of bed all the way to Block’s in Bexley just for a bagel in the morning.

The rumor is that they ship their water in from NYC. Even if its not true, the bagels are perfect. They pile on the cream cheese, so one might want to ask for a little less than normal. I would also always purchase a side of whitefish salad. The perfect companion to the perfect bagel.
