I went to this Ryan’s in Columbus, Georgia for the 1st time in about 10years and boy has it gone downhill. What should have tipped me off was the fact that they were open and the parking lot was near empty. The food was over cooked and cold. The rolls could be considered weapons if thrown at someone. The salad bar had brown wilted lettuce. I will never go here again. I left a $ 5.00 tip which was 50% since I had a military discount. Can’t believe it is over $ 12.00 for poor quality food.

Dropped by last week for lunch and I think I am done with Ryan’s. The food was horrible. I do not understand how you make canned food taste worse, but hey they did it and congratulations Ryan’s you get 1 star. Just don’t eat here please!!!

When I was young there food was awesome and decent, but after management changed my mashed potatoes were rock hard mac and cheesy was more cheese than macaroni, bathrooms underkept, but the only thing decent is the steak

We were looking for a place that had good food and good atmosphere. It did. Reasonably priced and pretty good. Way better than golden coral. My only complaint is there were no toilet seat covers, not like they ran out they just don’t have them.

Being new to Columbus we figured we would give Ryan’s a chance since it is rated higher than other buffets in the area. We were not impressed and I hope this is not typical for Columbus. Obviously we didn’t expect much from a buffet but this was truly bad. 1. The carpets were ridiculously dirty. I almost fell down when I stepped in a large wet spot that that appeared to be hastily cleaned ice cream. 2. The ceiling was dripping water over the steak grill line. There is a vent on the ceiling collecting and dropping moisture onto customers. 3. Nothing on the buffet was worth getting seconds. 4. The desserts were presented very sloppily and some even had fingerprints on the plates. 5. Waitress only came by once. Five or six staff members were dining together; I guess they like the food. I was ashamed to fill up on ice cream and cookies and now I’m ashamed to write a review of a chain restaurant but the other reviews over two years old.

You absolutely cannot go wrong here. The variety of choices from decadent to extremely healthy is wonderful. You choose! The staff is exceedingly devoted to helping customers. If you ask for something, they will do anything they can to make it happen. A significant portion of the staff have been there for a bunch of years — always a great sign. Obviously, the food itself can’t be, and isn’t 5-star. But, it is plenty good enough for all but the persnickety. The facility itself is well laid out with two semi-private rooms available. If you are looking for a traditional feast on a holiday, you will not do better than Ryans for price and quality. The problem is it is a very, very, popular destination on those special days. Plan on going during late afternoon for best chance at avoiding the hordes.

Good but needs more variety! Not a big fan of buffet anyway.

Awesome. On thanksgiving these guys had everything. With a very friendly staff and very quick service we were surprised. Upon arrival I was skeptical because of the home town buffet look on its web cite. However once we saw that the town was lined up outside we knew that this place was legit. Waited in a long line for about 5 minutes were we met the friendly locals of Columbus. Was like a home town buffet but in a good way. Food was clean and tasty. Dessert selection was awesome!

So, I hate the chains here and don’t like the other places in the area there-especially since their competitor up the road is so bad that I didn’t even bother to write a review. I was kind of surprised by this place enough that I would give it a rating, even if it is 2 stars. The service is kind of slow-my friend and I were greeted promptly but another friend of mine came later and had to just wait because the counter person since you have to pay before you come in was busy talking to her friends who were on break. The food is okay, the steaks aren’t bad-though the grill man was also similarly absent at times. The rest of the food is really hit or miss though, just like you’d expect from a buffet.

Perhaps it was the hike on a hot day that did it but man was Ryan’s a breath of fresh air over all of the fast food spots in the area. Yep, it’s a buffet, but also yep, the food is fresh and pretty tasty. Pretty extensive salad bar complete with all my favorites, tomato chunks, dried cranberry, multiple cheeses, sun flower seeds and a gang of toppings i’m not listing. The buffet itself is typical of what you may expect, multiple meats prepared in various ways(bbq, hawaiian, baked and fried chicken for example), and as I noted to my friend, all of the veggies were seasoned enough for me to not add a grain of salt, including steamed cabbage, sliced potatoes, turnip greens and a squash/zucchini medley, although there’s much more, including staples like pastas, pizzas, steak, etc. There’s also a desserts section complete with cakes, cobblers and ice cream. Meal and a drink is under $ 10, servers are really nice and if they ask if you’d like rolls, say yea. They are fantastic!
