One of the best pizza places in NJ. Good Sicilian slice… mostly it’s the good sauce; not a lot of cheese, so if cheese is your thing than this may not be your spot.

Probably the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. Now, I know pizza comes in all shapes and sizes. Believe me, I pretty much appreciate them all, but there was just something simple, yet pleasing about this pizza. Perhaps it was due to the fact that it just came out of the oven? I have no clue, but it was SO good. If I had to compare, I’d say it’s closest to a Sicilian slice. Sauce is pretty bare bones, didn’t really see any spices, but it was sweet! Cheese wasn’t salty at all and melted to perfection. Each bite was as glorious as the next. The place itself is no frills, even serve you the pizza on happy birthday plates In no way does any of that effect the execution! Don’t go in with any expectations and I’m sure you’ll love it.

This pizza is the best pizza I ever tasted. Easily beats the chain companies. I went to Chicago and had some fancy kind of pizza but this is hands down better than NY or Chicago pizza. I’m doing work in Columbus this week so I have to stop by and get some to take home! I just wish they took credit cards.

This place is delicious! Every time that I come here it’s mobbed. I highly suggest that you call in your pizza before getting to Columbus. There pie is delicious! I always get the large pie!!!

I couldn’t imagine not going to get a slice from here(I actually order a whole every time) when I go to the market. It’s just what one should do when they are there. I love their sauce and the crisp on the crust.

This place has been around for decades and came here as a kid with my parents to visit the flea market. If you don’t know this area, its filled with rednecks and they don’t have much options when it comes to different restaurants of choice. It’s decent, crust is probably the best part. Extra sauce, sauce is typical tomato sauce, bit light on the salt, very little cheese, and its scillian style, meaning its a bit thicker and sqaure. Its very pricey for what it is, 2.25 for a slice and 13 for half a pie. But like I said, not many options down in the boondocks and when you’re hungry, its«A-OK»…

You can’t come to Columbus and not grab a slice or two from Kate and ALS pizza is always top notch even when the place is jammed packed the staff still provides good service and the product never suffers. Well worth the wait on a weekend

There’s nothing really wrong with this pizza but I just don’t care for it. It’s nice and crispy, good flavor but I’m just not a fan. I wouldn’t go out of my way for this pizza. I prefer a round pie with more cheese. Definitely give this place a try, if you haven’t before, and decide for yourself. They can be super busy. I would recommend always calling ahead or ordering and then walking around the flea market. The service can be a bit on the rude side. Also, they only accept cash.

Kate & Al’s Pizza — mmmm, the very thought of it can make my mouth water. It’s difficult to describe — kind of tomato pie, but not exactly… but you can always count on it being delicious. The crust is thick, then they add a layer of cheese, and on top is the most amazing sauce. Let me tell you, I got a big chuckle after reading another Unilocaler say this was«canned» sauce. Honey, if you can get that taste in a can ANYWHERE just point me in the direction on where to purchase cause I’m in for a few cases of it. Seriously. Bring your cash cause they don’t accept credit cards.

This is typical South Jersey pizza. What’s does that mean? In a nutshell, way too much sauce in the sauce to cheese ratio. This is a big problem I’ve seen with any place east of the Delaware and under 195. Kate & Al’s does not escape this fate. My boyfriend, a Jersey bred person who resides in Columbus, told me that the big pizza place everyone went to is this place, so I was really excited to try them. While the pizza is good, it’s underwhelming. The best part is the crust, which is thick and fluffy, but they lose me because of the amount of sauce dribbled on the pie. Plus the sauce isn’t that good, it’s too sweet without enough salt from the cheese to balance it. Oh well, I guess this is the best for the part of Jersey it’s in. It’s not bad, just not something I really care for.

I really don’t know what the appeal is about this place but my wife grew up on this so called pizza. I’ll eat it since we normally go when we are in the area and both hungry and you know what they say about pizza. Even if its bad, its still edible. Kudos on being in business for about 100 years in the same location. Oh yeah, the lines can get very long.

Probably one of the most highly anticipated pizzas for me in quite some time, and I wouldn’t have minded waiting longer. Sauce, that lacked flavor or any character. Bland is the word I am looking for. If this place was in South Philly or an area where they actually had good pizza they’d be lucky to get any business. The cheese was easily forgettable. The crust was okay. The pizza itself was just flat out average to below average. I’d take a slice from Liscios, Aversa’s, Cacia’s, Sarcone’s or Carangi’s anyday before I consider this square pizza.

Is it tomato pie? No. Is it pizza? Kinda… Is it delicious? Absolutely!!! If you’re looking for ooey gooey, this is not it… Thinner, chewier crust, nice tasting sauce and not a lot of cheese. This is even a bigger hit in my house the next day, cold, served as breakfast. Yum!

There is no pizza like kate and als. The sauce is a little sweet compared to any other sauce i have had on other pizza i have tried. The crust is perfect like a thin sicilian. They don‘t put alot of cheese but whatever it is it is the best. I am not into breakfast pizza not that there is anything wrong with it i just love the regular one they have soo much. I think columbus is so dirty and disgusting but the pizza is so great i don‘t care. I wish they would open a place closer.

Kate & Al’s is simply fantastic. I’ve been going there since I was a kid and crave it more now that I’m no longer in the area. It’s like a deflated sicilian pizza with super soft crust that tastes like no other pie I’ve ever had. This crown jewel pizza joint sits in a rather run down(being nice) Columbus Market but don’t let the outside appearance fool you. Worth every penny!
