Food tastes good but plates are very small! They show you and present you large plates but then turn around and give you a tiny white saucer plate and tell you all you can fit in there!!!

Slightly different from BD’s because they have 3 different sized bowls. They also have pasta but theirs does not go in the bowl but is another option instead of brown/white rice. So far I still like BD’s better, but that may change once I get my meal. You do not wait for your meal at the grill they bring it to you based on the number they provide you at the grill. I do not like being able to watch them cook my meal and I actually like to interact with the grill cooks like you do at BD’s. Since you do not get to watch them make your meal on the grill there is a chance that something could go wrong. It did go wrong for me but maybe in a good way. The meal they brought me did not appear to be mine as it was much larger than anyone else at the table and in a different color bowl. Upon further inspection it did seem to have all of the right ingredients except for the rice that I had ordered. So the server took it back and brought it back with the rice, which of course made it even bigger. Oh well, I ate it and it was good, so in this respect if it was in fact my bowl then I might change my mind to say that it is as good as or better than BD’s . The bowl you get here looks smaller but I think it is in fact slightly deeper than the one at BD’s. So since I have a lot of experience of stuffing a ton of items into BD’s smaller bowl and that I did stuff the bowl here, the meal they brought could have been mine. The only reason it was bigger than any one else was because I stuffed my bowl with more stuff than any one else.

Awesome! Makes genghis look silly. Great service and all u can eat. I would definitely go back. I went there on an advertisement on the radio that advertise for $ 5.99 and when I got there they said that was a scam but the mgr honored it which was great.

My girls and I decided to check this place out since it is located close to where we live and they really enjoyed their visit to BD’s Mongolian Grill previously, so we thought this might be similar with the whole«build your own dish» concept… …WRONG… I should have been tipped-off by the fact that they were pretty dead, especially for a place that was brand new at the time. Despite how not busy they were, it took forever for someone to come and greet us at our table and take our drink order. It took equally as long for them to return and take our food order. The food quality was less than desirable and left us feeling hungry since we barely touched our food. The only saving grace… the potstickers were tasty. Now I would order that again if I ever found myself back in this establishment. Not impressed at all.

I used to eat at Genghi’s in Addison, TX frequently and was excited to see one here while I was traveling. Let’s just say, I am not in Texas anymore. The food quality was good but the service left alot to be desired. They were significantly understaffed and it took a while for the food to arrive at my table. Once the food did arrive, they didn’t bring my tortillas. There actually were no tortillas made so they had to take someone off the line to make them and then they arrived about 10 minutes later. I wanted this place to be better but it just wasnt. I will give them another try because there may have been a few people that called in sick and they were just having a rough day.

The food was not good and the service was worse. We sat at our table for over 20minutes before anyone came to greet us or take our order. I notified the hostesses after 10minutes that no one was taking care of us and it still took another 10. I found that the food was extremely underwhelming, especially the food on the menu as opposed to the build your own.

I really enjoyed going here with my wife last Saturday evening. Food was tasty, service was friendly, the managers seemed really helpful; I have no real complaints. As for the build-your-own, I would have liked a greater variety in the vegetables available. There was a good selection, but a little small.

The food was great. Recommend their signature sauce with a little honey soy sauce. The chefs and staff helped explain how things work which helped. Issues: There was a super fishy smell coming from meat area. Server was horrible. He kept forgetting everything. Even the things that he suggested. Could not keep up on drink either. Did not get any type of «thank you for coming» from any of the staff on way out. Even though they were not busy at all.

My husband had a coupon from the Val-pack, so we decided to try it. We’ve never been, so it was nice to try something different. There appeared to be only 1 server in the restaurant(who was also the host) and it made everything delayed. The idea of the restaurant is very similar to BD’s Mongolian BBQ, so we got the jist of it. It was a bit confusing since it is a little different, but we got it. The food was good. My husband got their signature sauce on his food and it was AMAZING. I’ll definitely be back.

Been going here for the past few months and really love this place. It is great for a quick bite to eat and I love the build your own bowl. The flavors you can create each time you come change depending on what you put in it. I did a peanut, honey sauce with a hint of BBQ this time and loved it so much I drank the sauces in the bottom of my bowl: D Highly recommend this place for a great place and a great atmosphere.

We ate here tonight for the first time and while the food was not bad it was not great. I am not sure why they came up with the whole bowl philosophy, but I will share that by the time the waitress had gone through the whole spill I felt annoyed. There where so many guidelines and criteria thrown at you that it really took the enjoyment out of dinner. Then when I got in line to build my bowl I got the pleasure of looking at a bunch of half full dishes of meat all piled together in ice. The chicken looked like it had spent half the day bathing in its own juices, and with all the meats so close together all I could think of was the potential for cross contamination. The layout is just not appealing. I won’t blame them that my food really did taste great but I will say they could provide some better guidance on what spices and sauces work well together because the chance of nailing a good combination by yourself is challenging Mostly the staff is pleasant and attentive. But to the lady who runs the grill I will share that yelling at the guy who comes in late in a wide open kitchen environment is not very customer orientated. If you want to go out and have a nice peaceful dinner this isn’t a great choice, but if you want a chance to experiment with flavors and ingredients this could be right up your alley. My last thought would be aimed at the owner. When you waitress has to take 5 minutes to tell your customer the guidelines for eating at your restaurant what makes you think in anyway that is enjoyable.

Mike G. and I met here for lunch yesterday. I had been before with the Unilocal group, but that was its own kind of experience. This time, the food was just as good, and we probably got a more typical experience overall. We noticed that there aren’t many seafood options, but there are good protein choices overall. Since I was hoping to make something resembling pad Thai, I noticed that there were no rice noodles. Harumph. Still, there are plenty of meats, veggies, sauces, and rice/noodle choices. I guess I prefer an all-you-can-eat option at places like this. The large bowl was enough, but if I’m really hungry I can eat more. And I like making several bowls to try different sauces, etc. Here, you can taste the sauces, but the meal itself is a bit more expensive than BD’s and you can’t keep going back and trying new combinations. Service was decent, but a little disorganized. They’re definitely trying. The place is pretty nice inside, with comfy booths. If it was closer to my house, or my commute, I might stop in once in awhile. As it is, I’ll probably pass. There are more interesting places near Polaris for the few times I get up this way, and I’ll go to BD’s if I’m in the mood for this kind of thing.

Genghis Grill is a little more upscale than bd’s Mongolian Grill, it’s main competitor. It has similar food and beverage options but with higher prices than bd’s and it’s not unlimited dining like bd’s either. The service was alright with just a couple small bumps in the road — It’s not worth mentioning the details… While I enjoyed my lunch today with Mark K., I doubt that I would bother to go back to this restaurant. The main reason is the combination of price and value. They have bowls(sm, med & lg) sitting around so you can see how big the potions are going to be but in reality, they are just full of filler: white rice, brown rice, pasta or cabbage. When they sat my bowl down for me to eat, my first thought was«Man, that’s a lot of rice». I know my way around Columbus Asian restaurants and there are so many other, better options for the price of $ 13.99 they charge for the large portion. I can get a lunch combo at a Chinese restaurant and get a comparable or better sized portion with soup and an eggroll and still spend less than they charge here. Here, all I had leftover was a big bowl of rice. So, it’s up to you. Some people really like it but I’m not really impressed. Mind you, it’s not bad, so I’m going to be nice here and give them 3 stars.

Back for a second time here on a sunny«No Buckeye Football» Saturday afternoon. Pulling up to this place I was immediately hit with aromas from their Mongolian Bbq grill and the Firebirds restaurant next door and it was like Pavlov rang the bell. I was quickly greeted and seated in the bar area. I decided to try another one of their«We Build It» chef creations and saved me from doing the«Build Your Own» line, even though you can create your own from the table top ordering screens without getting out of your seat. Mandarin Orange Chicken was my choice this time and it didn’t take very long for my big beautiful bowl to arrive at my table. Juicy chicken, red bell peppers, carrots, broccoli & green onions in a zesty mandarin orange sauce. The veggies were all fresh and had that«just right» char from the grill. Paired up with the bright flavourful sauces here and served over perfectly cooked nutty brown rice it was satisfying bowl of goodness. Most people experience with Mongolian Bbq in CBus has been BD’s and yes there are differences. The«build your own» line is staffed with friendly people that help move you through the process smoothly. That and a few other things are different from their competitor that make this place stand out. They offer a rewards program here and you can get free 10th bowl after buying 9. Tuesday night’s offer a «all you can eat» for one price for students with ID’s so if you’ve got a bottomless pit of a teenager this may fill it for a few hours. Overall this seems to be a good place to go for a filling bowl of made to order fresh stir-fry at a decent value. Coupons can be found in many of the local mailings if you catch’em before they hit recycle bin…

I am a fan. A co-worker and I came for lunch today. Everyone was very friendly, the service was great, and the food even better. We both chose the make-your-own bowl. I love that they have marinated whitefish, and the vegetable selection is abundant. I filled up my little bowl, handed it and my sauce selection to the griller who asked what kind of rice I wanted(brown, please!). The cooked food was delivered back to our table with a smile. We’ll be back.

It was very difficult to enjoy my meal after an interaction with a terrible waitress who refused to seat us in her section. The manager offered us a free bowl of edamame as an apology. Food was ok, but I never want to have an experience like this again, so I will NEVER return.

Our service was excellent. We were promptly greeted upon arrival and our server was at our table within minutes of being seated. This was my first visit to Genghis, so I was unfamiliar with the ordering process. Our server took her time explaining the menu and how to make our own bowl. There are tablets at each table which can be used to order your own custom bowl rather than wait in line. I really liked this idea because it let me browse each option in detail at my own pace. I ordered the signature Steak & Broccoli bowl and was very happy. The portion was just right; I didn’t feel guilty after eating and I was completely satisfied. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant as it is a unique experience and the food/service is excellent. I will be returning.

This was my first visit here and I thought it was OK. We decided to make our own bowl which was fun. Although they have sample cards for bowls you can create you really have to know what you want. Our waitress was less than personable and could’ve used a little pep. We went on a Tuesday which is kids eat free. My son’s are two and four and did not like the bowls. You can go make a new bowl for free if they don’t like what they put together. This would be a great place for older kids. Another thing I was disappointed with was that we did not see any sesame seeds or cashews. It was only until I walked to the bathroom that i noticed they had them… but they were not by the other items. I was impressed that they asked several times if we had any allergies. This was good to see. In the end, I don’t think I’d come here again.

Well, at least the stir fry that I created was good. Poor service, no drink refills(even after our 6 year old had to ask for one), associate stands guard over the ingredients, when we responded to the manager that everything was«ehh ok» he found OK to be an acceptable rating. In the words of our 10 year old, the service was«like a junkyard,» which I am guessing means he did not find it to be good.

Food quality: 8⁄10 I have been here only once, and have tried only a few sauces/spices, but I liked the overall quality of food. Recommended– Protein: Fiesta Chicken Spices: Dragon Salt, Lemon Pepper Sauce: Dragon Sauce(must try) Starch: Fried Rice with fried noodles and cilantro Service: 8⁄10 Everyone was friendly and the servers took good care of us. Not that I am complaining about the service, but since this place is still new, it seemed overstaffed. Price: 7⁄10 It comes to around 11 $ for Lunch — regular bowl and 14 $ for Dinner — regular bowl, inclusive of taxes and tips. Could be a little cheaper. Ambiance: 8⁄10 Decent, lively décor. Comfortable seating. Portion size: 10⁄10 Perfect portion for lunch. Haven’t been here for dinner.
