Dick’s Sporting Goods

Well they have moved into their new digs in the Polaris Mall (no more Halloween shop or toy store) behind the food court. The store is much bigger and chocked full of the usual things and all nice and new and shiny. They seemed to have more exercise equipment and much more clothing than they did before. The help was much easier to get than before (hopefully this wasn’t because of the grand opening week) and I almost walked out of there with some new weights.
I like that it’s in/​connected to the mall.

Stopped here to pick up a gift card as a present.
Exterior: the store is located in a row of stores with shared parking. Getting to the parking lot can be confusing for people not familiar with the area. The parking lot is large and it has always been clean.
Interior: the store has always been clean and well organized. We can rely on finding items we seek because the areas do not get shifted around (except for some seasonal clothing).
Associates: we have always been greeted upon arrival and asked if we need assistance in the various departments we visit. Whenever we’ve had questions/​problems, the staff has taken the time to assist us and we’ve even had them go out of there way to provide us what we seek. There are times when there are not enough cashiers at check out though.
Selection: there is a decent selection of items throughout the store (depending on what you seek). For us, this is not a one stop shop though because we often have to go elsewhere to find wider selections of certain items. The selection and costs are no longer competitive with some of the newest similar stores in the area. We used to go to this store all the time, but due to the selection and prices at these other stores, we rarely come here.
Overall, this is a decent store and may have what you seek. If you come during off season, you will probably find what you want for far less due to the sales, and you can get some real bargains. Of course, you will have to wait until the following season to use it… but I’ve found some items for up to 50% off.

Average size Dick’s sporting goods. If your looking for equipment out of season don’t come here. Instead shop online. The staff is very friendly. However the staff, not so knowledgable about sports! Isn’t it supposed to be a sporting goods store where you want to go talk to an expert?

Decent sporting goods store in a convenient location. Prices on most things are good, though I usually find better prices on golf balls elsewhere. There selection of left handed golf clubs is among the worst in town. Trying to get help in the Golf Department is challenging. I usually find more checkout stations open at the Sawmill store.

I know this is really nerdy but I was impressed with the golf section here. I was in a hurry and only in need of some golf balls but if given the time and resources I could easily have spent and afternoon and a few paychecks in here. They have all the clubs, or at least it sure seemed that way — they were everywhere. And it was a huge department too. A whole wall of shoes and aisles of balls and stuff. The whole section is done up in this wood paneling that makes it look all special compared to the rest of the store. I will come back for sure when I am shopping for new golf gear.
