I was in with family & friends on Friday, January 29th and one of the Managers, Bill helped my party get a wonderful table in a room off to the side so we could be a little more boisterous. Our waiter, David Kirkbride was very knowledgeable, attentive, and provided wonderful service to all of us. Our group had a fabulous time with wonderful service, food & wine, which is rare to find these days. This is definitely a restaurant we will visit again.

I loved all of the variety of food offered here. I’m not much of a drinker, so I had ordered the hibiscus iced tea which was so wonderful I didn’t even feel the need to sweeten it, and I love sweet tea. I had gone with some friends and got to try a variety of things. I have to say not one of the things was disappointing.

I infrequently go to Easton, so I didn’t even know a place such as this existed. A friend got me a gift card here and then it was on the Restaurant Week list, so I figured now was as good a time to try it as ever. When my husband and I arrived for our 7:30 reservation on a Thursday evening, the place was hopping! I did not expect to see the lobby so alive and full of people. There must be a great happy hour, or it’s just the place to be. Once we were seated we indulged in the wines and took a look at the full menu, as well as the RW menu. We stuck with the 3-course RW offerings and were not disappointed. A(huge!) delicious wedge salad to start, the most amazing gnocci I’ve had in a long time, and a crème brûlée to finish for me. Pairing it all with a Cooper’s Hawk Pinot topped things off nicely. Hubs ordered the same starter and entrée, but went with the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake for a dessert. However, it was neither ooey, nor gooey, and certainly not buttery… it was very light, fluffy and predominantly lemony. Try renaming this one, CH. Also, I was a little disappointed to see my bill come and have 2 soft drinks on it. When I said to the waitress that we did not order soft drinks, she said they were included in our RW menu. It was not noted on the menu, and it basically made the RW «deal» much less of a «deal.» Really, winery? You include a $ 3 soft drink in your $ 30 prix fixe menu? Another demerit. All in all, with what we chose, our RW menu saved us all of $ 2(I’m not including the soft drink charge, because it’s dumb). So Cooper’s Hawk gets a 4 star, but their RW price, offering and misnamed cake gets a 3.

WARNING: Expect to wait over an hour if it is the end of the month or a Friday or Saturday night, and make sure you are strategic when trying to get a spot at the bar to do a tasting! And yes, the service in the dining room can be very inconsistent. That being said, I love this place! My sister and I came when it first opened and I brought my husband back about a week later and we became wine club members right away! It is a nice excuse for a date night and is a great deal, you get so many perks, birthday meals, $ 25 off randomly, the November giant bottles of wine, etc! I almost always get the gnocchi with squash(disappointed they were out last time), my husband gets the ceasar pesto salad, and the pretzel bread is always yummy! Tri the best sommelier there by the way!

One of my best friends had passed away this past July(r.i.p Alysia Allison-Jordan) So in memory of her, this past January 15th her husband took her closest friends and family members to Coopers Hawk for her birthday. It was a busy Friday night of course but he had made the reservation way in advance for our larger party of about 12. The experience didn’t start off well with them not having the seating for all of us. I personally work in Easton and with having a reservation you would think they would have been better prepared. Well when we got there we had to wait around for almost an hour to get seated and even then it had to be at 2 different seating areas. The servers seemed polite and knowledgeable, they were pretty prompt also. The manager did check on us right after we were seated but we didn’t see any after that. The food was pretty good, I got the Shrimp and Polenta, a take on shrimp and grits, it was savory. Initially we were supposed to pay for our own alcoholic drinks my friends husband pay for our meals. So when I found out he was buying everything and wouldn’t let us pick up anything I personally went to the server and asked if there was any type of discount they could do for him with me being an Easton employee(Kona Grill) since I know at my job we are pretty lenient on a few complimentary deserts or something for a special occasion, and when I went to Smith and Wollensky they gave me a neighborhood discount when I mentioned I worked there, I mean hey it was worth a try. Anyways, if she even asked the manager we weren’t offered anything, nor did even see a manager again for a thank you. Which most places they at least come by to check on large parties. However, food was good, service was ok. Would go back just maybe not for a party.

I don’t know where to start. I really thought this review would write itself the way the food soothed away all the cares of my day and week! The polenta was creamy with a consistently smooth texture. There are whole kernels of corn in this dish that give it crunch. Another level of flavor is added by the sautéed kale and tomatoes. And last but not least, the generous portion of perfectly cooked shrimp! Every flavor works in harmony and taste wonderful by itself. Although the shrimp and polenta was the star it came with warm pretzel bread and whipped butter. I literally got so excited to eat my food I stopped eating my bread. Then when I finished my food I was excited I still had bread left! Lol. The whole dish was simply wonderful. I actually ordered my food togo and ate it in my hotel room. If you are going to dine-in the atmosphere is awesome. The establishment has a warm, modern, rustic feel. Oh, and it’s also a winery so if you only want to stop in for the wine tasting section after work you can. My manager who lives at least 100 miles from this location and actually is a member of their wine club! From the wine to the food this place is truly amazing!

For starters the only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because of the view and dining room setting. The lighting, seating and views of the outside receive 5 stars alone. But on another note the service and food is terrible. Either the food is overlooked or undercooked. Me and my friend use to dine at Cooper’s Hawk at least 2 – 3 times a week trying new things or sticking to our favorites. But recently the quality of food has went down dramatically! Our last experience with them will probably be our last. The waitress was rude and it too at least 15 minutes before we received our drinks. I ordered an appetizer(egg rolls) that came back dry, didn’t seem fresh at all. I would suggest giving them a try because some days their food is really good, when cooked right. But it’s not consistent at all.

From an architectural stand point, Cooper’s Hawk gets a definite 5 star rating. The view and overall ambiance of the restaurant is relaxed and welcoming. The dim lighting and open seating adds to the upscale vibe and classy atmosphere. I use to go to Cooper’s Hawk Easton location(not sure if there are any others) at least twice a week with my best friend whether it be for lunch or dinner. During my last couple visits the food and service has declined drastically. A couple weeks ago I visited Cooper’s Hawk to get the glazed salmon, mind you, this is my Cooper’s Hawk«go-to» menu item. When prepared correctly the dish is absolutely delicious! Sadly during this particular visit my salmon was over cooked and very dry. I sent the dish back only to have it come back raw in the center. Given that everyone has a bad day sometimes I didn’t think too much of it. But the last few times I’ve went, regardless of what I order, the food has been lackluster to say the least. My last visit has been the worse to date. My friend and I sat at the open seating near the bar area. It took a waitress about 30 minutes to clean off our table and when she did she only cleaned the half of the table we were sitting at(we sat at a table that sat 6 people). While wiping the table down she began wiping crumbs on my guest and I. The normally tasty pretzel bread was tough and taste like yesterdays batch. If you’re willing to play Russian Roulette in regards to whether or not you’ll receive good food and exceptional service, I suggest you give Cooper’s Hawk a try. If not, you may want to try another restaurant in the Easton area. The pricing for Cooper’s Hawk is too high to receive blah food and terrible customer service. My last experience here wasn’t the best. I received a letter from the corporate office and was invited to come back for complimentary meal so I figured«what the hell? «I ended up having 9:15 reservations and I was seated approximately 2 to 3 minutes after that which was superb. The service that I received this time was much, much better than what I had received before. As I stated in my earlier review the building in itself is absolutely beautiful, especially on the inside. I joked that when I build my house I want the same designer who designed the restaurant to do my home. I ordered the over the border eggrolls as an appetizer, and the filet mignon dinner with the strawberry lemonade. The food was somewhat subpar taste wise and temperature wise. The eggrolls were easily the star of the platter along with the strawberry lemonade. But the service overcame any shortcomings of the restaurant. My server’s name was Emily and she was very friendly, thoughtful, attentive and knowledgeable. The manager, who’s name was Dave, had been notified of my previous experience and went out of his way to make sure that this evening was a better one than the last. He and I talked a bit about the food and he took my feedback and say that there were some things that he would definitely discuss with the kitchen. Besides that, he seemed genuinely concerned about my experience and making sure that the restaurant lived up to its expectations as a whole. Even though I wasn’t super pleased with the food it wasn’t necessarily that bad. But if they can continue to give the service like I received tonight, I’ll definitely be back

Even though it was super busy, the food and the service was great! I had the churrasco and it was delicious! We also signed up for their membership and brought home two bottles of Winter White.

This is one of my all-time favorite spots. No matter which location I visit, everything is always incredible here. I haven’t had anything that wasn’t super tasty here, so be adventurous! My personal favorite is the half turkey & Brie with fries and an appetizer side salad. The table bread is always fresh pretzel bread with soft butter that easily melts. If you’re like me and enjoy wine, know that you can sample a couple before placing your order, just to make sure it’s one you’ll enjoy. They have delicious chocolate truffles for any occasion and a lovely gift shop/store with unique finds. If you’re there on a busier day and have to wait for a table, take that as an opportunity to visit the tasting bar and do a full wine tasting. My favorite wine there, the Blanc de Blanc, is only $ 15! I’m pretty sure if ordered with dinner, the bottle is only $ 22. Pretty incredible price if you like to order wine with dinner.

Like all of the other reviews: –Ambiance is a 5. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. — The drink menu offers something for everyone. Happy Hour is reasonable. All of the wines are $ 5.00 — Service is also excellent. My server was seasoned, attentive but not pushy/nosy — My food was just meh. I would love to see more fresh variety Overall— I can’t wait to go back for drinks with friends. Perfect date spot before a movie!

Our experience at Cooper’s Hawk was good, but not great. We came on a Tuesday night and waited 45 minutes for a table. We occupied ourselves at the bar in the meantime, which was full and crowded. The bartender was very attentive despite being very busy and we got quick service. We mentioned our 45-minute wait, to which he replied, «We have tons of open tables. They’re just staggering service.» I’m still deciding how I feel about that. Sure enough, when we sat down there were several empty tables around us. Nate, our server, was great. After reading other reviews I was concerned service would be an issue, but that wasn’t the case. Nope, this 3 stars is for the food. My husband and I chose to forgo appetizers and start with salads. Other than the amazing fresh croutons the salads were underwhelming, at best. Pretty sure it was bagged salad, or if it wasn’t it at least had all the same qualities. My husband ordered a steak, which was delicious and cooked perfectly, but the same can’t be said for my Brown Butter Chicken, which was the chef’s special. It’s a skin-on chicken cutlet that comes with grilled broccoli and a pan sauce. The presentation was on the unappetizing side — the whole dish was swimming in the brown sauce. Mix that with the ultra dim lighting and the visual experience of the food is pretty much nonexistent. The skin was not at all crispy, making it inedible. Not that chicken skin is my thing, but for those expecting a crisp skin from pan frying, it’s not happening. The flavor was decent and good with the grilled broccoli. An okay dish, but not an $ 18 dish.

Fine dining done right, reminds me of CM managed restaurants. This is a very nice venue, tall ceilings, ambient lighting and wine tasting galore while you wait for your table. The food here is really really good, we had the short ribs and the grouper, and with the leftovers, I had a nice surf-n-turn breakfast, lol. Service here is very professional. They make all their own wines, so don’t come here expecting to find others on the menu. I highly recommend making reservations, as from what I can tell, it’s very busy, probably on most nights too.

First of all, my food was fantastic. We had the Asian pork belly tostadas and pesto Caesar salad for appetizers and I had the short rib risotto for my entrée. They were all delicious, especially the risotto. My gf was less stoked about her brown butter chicken, though. Pretty bland. The issue I had was the service and how long our meal took. We were there for 2.5 hours. I’ve never felt so impatient and irritated at a restaurant before. It would sometimes take 15 – 20 minutes to get even a drink. They could’ve been having an off night with servers calling in and what not, but this might deter me from coming back.

We have been to this establishment a few times. They have really nice wine flights. The ambience is very nice. It is quite busy, e.g., even on a Sunday evening there was a 20 – 30 minute wait, so we decided to sit near the bar area which is first come first served. Pros: The Sangria was quite good. I also liked the Carne Asada flatbread, which was a bit cold, but quite good as well. he beet salad was also quite good. The lettuce wraps were good, but not great(the peanut sauce was my favorite among the sauces). The main entrée Cannelloni short ribs(special) was flavorful but quite different from what I expected. This was the best meal I’ve had at this establishment. I would say go for the ambience, but not necessarily for the food.

I want to echo Bryant M.‘s observations: Cooper’s Hawk is a very beautiful addition to Easton, but nothing about the restaurant screams«OMG, I can’t wait to go back.» First, the good stuff: 1. A great selection of apps, particularly if you are a part of a group that likes to share 2. Good prosecco(did you know that sparkling wine is a LOWCAL bev?) 3. Great patio for the summer Bad stuff: 1. Slow, inconsistent service. Be prepared to never see your server again. 2. Staff has no clue about the food preparation. During several visits, our server had no idea about the individual components of dishes or allergen information. Overall: I’d go here if I was part of a group that was picky and/or some people were determined to eat here. Wouldn’t go on my own accord.

With there being several wine bistros near my house in Upper Arlington, I’d never felt the need to drive out to Easton to try out Cooper’s Hawk previously. But my sister in law’s birthday gathering finally brought me in to try one of the few restaurants at Easton that I’d yet to dine at. First, I was pleasantly surprised by the large interior space of this restaurant. It’s very spacious, and we enjoyed that relaxed atmosphere as we had a party of 8 adults and 3 kids. The service was friendly and efficient. The pretzel bread that they bring out for free was pretty delicious. The menu I thought was very similar to Matt the Miller’s tavern in Grandview, which I frequent. Salads, flatbreads, pastas, sandwiches, burgers, etc. I personally got the half wedge salad & half carne asada flatbread combo and it was pretty good. I would have to say though that the food seemed less chef-driven compared to other wine bistros in town, and more assembly line ala The Cheesecake Factory. Don’t get me wrong though, the food at Cooper’s Hawk is way better than the Cheesecake Factory. I did have some white wine with my meal but that was ordered by my father in law. I really don’t know enough about wines to comment on the selection/quality. The pricing was pretty reasonable for a restaurant at Easton. Overall, I would say that this is really a 3.5 star restaurant. I’ll go ahead and round up for a 4 star review though.

There are many over rated restaurants in the Easton area… you know it’s true — or you should. This is certianly one of the better ones. They often have a pretty intense wait time on the weekends though so be aware of that. Their wine is fantastic. The cocktails are also good — a few a tinge on the ‘too sweet’ side… but over all, really good. Their dessert is also really good. My fav is definitely the Banofie Pie. Do yourself a favor and have some — trust me. The lobster bisque is really good here as well. The cheese plate was also quite pleasing. I have been a time or two before where I wasn’t all that impressed… but to be fair I cannot recall what I had then. There were some times I visited and was pretty happy but can’t recall what I had then either other than what I already called out and their drunk shrimp — I remember how amazing they were! ;)

It’s always difficult to gauge a restaurant during restaurant week. For $ 25+tip I left Cooper’s Hawk overly satisfied — it’s an incredible amount of tasty food for your money. I haven’t a clue what their normal menus are, but if this is any reflection then there will have to be a repeat. Its probably worth noting that they do not seat you unless the majority of your party is present. That was somewhat annoying as I waited with just shy of the majority, knowing the additional wait that would ensue due to restaurant week. Once inside, however, I was very impressed with how beautiful the place actually was. It certainly fits right in at Easton. Service could have been better, but I wasn’t expecting much during restaurant week. During this January restaurant week, it was $ 25 for a three course meal. Your first choice was between a wedge salad, soup of the day, or potstickers. Your entrée was a choice between maple pork chops, gnocchi carbonara, or ginger salmon. Your dessert was a choice between strawberry cheesecake, chocolate cake, or crème brûlée. I went with the potstickers, pork chops, and crème brûlée. Potstickers — I’ve had many potstickers in my life. These were likely the pre-made frozen variety because of the very distinct taste. They are filled with chicken and veges that is juicy to the bite. They were good — just not handmade. Pork chops — My god, I’ve never seen a piece of pork chop this big in my life. This was probably a 1lb cut before cooking. And given how incredibly tasty it was, it was probably 1lb after cooking too. It was cooked perfectly through — an impressive feat given the 1 inch plus thickness. Crème brûlée — Not as much burning of the crème as I would have expected, but overall well done. The fruit on top — raspberries and blackberries — were definitely not fresh.
