We recently took a trip to Brown County, Indiana. After arriving there we started having a problem with our car battery. We discovered it was our alternator. Here we were stuck on a Sunday afternoon in Columbus, Indiana. We ended up staying the night in the Comfort Inn Hotel near I-65. The room was great and the rate was extremely reasonable. We got a room with a King Size bed and a Whirlpool Tub and a kitchenette and the cost was $ 89.95 plus tax. The room was extremely clean and located near places to eats and Wal-Mart. I was very pleased with the room.

Very cheap breakfast. Oatmeal cereal and toast. Apples and bananas had seen their better days. Hotel needs remodeling/upgrading.

Worst hotel experience ever! I booked a room online via the comfort inn site, it was supposed to have a 2 person whirlpool tub. When I arrived at my room it had a kitchenette, and a barely normal size tub/shower. I went to the front desk to try to have this mistake taken care of, and the lady seemed very disinterested in my problem. She said she had no whirlpool tub rooms available, and had no idea why it would have said on the website that one was available.(she was insinuating that I was making that part up.) She offers me a whole 10% off the room for my trouble. At this point I was over it, so I went back to the room, and started checking the cleanliness of the room(can’t help it, custodian by trade lol). The chair had food and dirt and a whole crayon that had been there long enough to stain the fabric under the cushions, the sofa bed had dirt and food under the cushions in plain sight if you’re opening the bed part to use. The air/heating units had dirt and mouse droppings in the vents. The air vent in the bathroom had dust ½″ thick. The tv’s, and the headboard on the bed also had quite a bit of dust on them. And finally, the toilet would barely flush, which my girlfriend ended up fixing for them! We stayed on the second floor, and in the hallways it smelled like someone had pooped somewhere and the smell never dissipated. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

I have stayed at a number of hotels in Columbus and Comfort Inn ranks number 1. The room and facilities are very good. If you don’t mind a 20 minute walk, downtown is accessible via a dedicated walking and cycling path. Breakfast is included in the price and is very good for a ‘freebie’. The wired internet access was very good, which tends to be the exception in this day and age(Courtyard internet access is typically very slow). This will be my preferred hotel the next time I am in town.

As of this writing, this Comfort location recently opened a new section and the existing rooms were remodeled. I enjoyed my single night stay very much at this modern and up-to-date motel. When two people in my party wanted to play cards at the desk in the room, hotel staff promptly brought a padded chair(from meeting room) to our room. There were already two chairs in the room, but one was a giant«comfy» chair with an ottoman(not good for playing cards). The free hot breakfast probably ranks in the top five I have experienced. Plus, the breakfast area was in a large, tastefully decorated atrium. Probably one of the best I’ve experienced in terms of free, breakfast seating. I feel this hotel, at this time, taking all into account, is an excellent value.
