I will never waste my time or money in this place again. If your hungry don’t go there. Had to get up and find a waitress so they could take our order. The food took forever and was just nasty. Friends don’t let friends eat at Cantu. This star was not earned!

The mushroom Swiss burger is where it’s at! The food took a little while but we were checked on a lot in the wait.

I was really impressed with the quality of food. Dos Equis on tap(hard to find) and Blue Moon on tap. Great hamburger with a quality bun. Not much to pick from in this town, makes this the spot to go while in Columbus.

Dingy Windows can make or break a restaurant. In the case of Cantu’s, it looks like they are making it. This, is probably due to the steady stream of unsuspecting travelers who are stopping in Columbus to eat something«local». This place is a bar. Ignore the sign out that proudly announces pizza, subs, and wings. Also, I’m guessing it’s a sports bar because they have about 4TV’s all blasting Sports Center. Truthfully, I didn’t even sit at the bar because I thought it was the kitchen. Had it not been blocked off by a massive wall of booth seating that resembled a drive in movie theater I might have sat down to have a drink. The 2 stars are strictly for the food(microwave pizza anyone?). Cantu’s might be a good place to have a drink, but if you are looking for food, skip it, and head over to the Jack-In-The-Box next door.

Well color me surprised, I did not think I would find a place like this during my impromptu day trip to Columbus. Lucky for me, it was about 10 after 11am(right when they open) when we placed a to-go order over the phone for one pizza. When I arrived to pick it up, I realized they had things other than pizza on their menu, so I decided at the last minute to add to our order. No problem for these guys. The owner’s dad kept us company while we waited at the bar for the short time we waited for our food. When we got home, I was thrilled to see homemade balsamic vinaigrette with my salad and a warm toasted bun for my buffalo chicken sandwich. Seriously, that homemade dressing made all the difference, with a touch of fresh ground black pepper and creamy balsamic. Don’t be fooled by the bar food feel of the place, the food is impressive. Turns out, they are one of two places open late at night in town, and if I ever find myself back there, I’ll be sure to enjoy a drink or two next time.

The only reason I’m giving Cantu’s two stars versus one is one person in our party enjoyed their food. The fries, onion rings, and buns(not the hoagies) are pretty good. The service is TERRIBLE! We arrived at 12:15 p.m. for lunch, a party of six. We sat ourselves and a gentleman came over, gave us menus, told us our food would take longer if we didn’t want the enchilada casserole special of the day. We are not upset about the wait, we were warned. When I’m at a sit down restaurant I expect my water/tea to be refilled by the waiter, not for him to slide a pitcher of water on the table and walk off. I also expect for my food to be served to me, not to set the tray on the end of the table and tell me to «sort it out.» In fact, «sort it out» seemed to be the slogan of this place, as we heard it several times. The sandwiches came dry, we had to ask for mayo and mustard, twice. But guess what, when I asked for the check it arrived promptly, my card was swiped and returned to me in record time.

This place is a great small town bar. Shiner on tap and always good company. I haven’t eaten here yet, maybe next visit I’ll sneak a meal in. Every thing is well priced too, check it out if you are in town. Thanks Mark!

Average tasting food, but pretty cheap. The Philly cheese steak & enchilada soup was good and fulfilling. The food does take some to come out but at least we know it’s fresh.
