Being from a bigger city that offers a ton more food than here in Columbia, I often find it hard to find good food. Miyo’s offers an excellent break from the typical chains that litter Columbia. It boasts a refreshing atmosphere and the staff is always super friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and fresh, always made to order. The sushi stands out to me, and the miso soup, while hard to get wrong, is also always great. the Woks are super filling and scrumptious as well! If you have the chance to stop by Miyo’s, do yourself a favor and take it!

I’ve eaten in here and gotten to go, both experiences were great. It does get busy during the noon hour but the space is larger than it looks from the outside. Miyo’s does Chinese food that’s a cut above your usual places, well worth it. I would suggest walking here though, parking can be tricky when classes are in session.

I’ve had several great lunches here. Very nice vegetarian options plus they always have brown rice available. Don’t let the outside of the building fool you, the place is gorgeous and clean on the inside. Lunch prices are very reasonable and dinner prices are in line with what you might expect. Portions are good sized, many people will end up with leftovers. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic. For Columbia, this place is very good. Ask for chili sauce if you need to spice things up.

The service was great with a cute college girl. The food was terrible. The pan fried potstickers were greasy. Peking Duck as special on menu. BThe duck was fatty, the«pancakes» store bought and too much flour. No scallions. I ate little. One of the worse Chinese meals I have ever had

The food is good, not two spicy. Just a little bit oily but better than China buffet or China take-out food. The Singapore noodle is very tasty. Just heard the bad news that they underpay their waitress so they got fine by the state government.

I’ve had good food at two Miyo’s restaurants, but I do have two beefs. First, the service is usually not that attentive, although relatively courteous. Okay, three beefs: it’s a bit noisy. Oops, three beefs: the tables are a bit cramped. Main problem, the pervasive stench of burned oil and garlic, which is apparently seen as an asset, because it is at both the locations I have visited.

I had a meeting in Columbia a couple weeks ago and we came here for lunch afterwards. I got the lunch special mentioned in other reviews. Specialty roll and a salad. Also added some Miso soup. Soup and salad were both fine. Hawaiian roll was fantastic. I had a hard time choosing which roll to get because they were all creative and sounded tasty. I was happy with my choice. The avocado and fresh coconut really brought home the freshness and made for a unique combo. I would have to try more here to up my rating… can’t just hand out 4 and 5 stars for everyone. Wish I could give a 3.5 based on wanting to come back and try dinner or some other lunch options.

Very delicious, can’t say I’ve ever been disappointed by a meal here! Lunch is a great deal. It’s a little pricier at dinner time for the same meal you would get at lunch, but the proportions are pretty generous.

I’ve gone to lunch at Miyo’s several times now and have always had very polite service from the waitstaff. They’re mostly students of one variety of another, though, it seems weighted towards graduate students. The front of the house is next to WhichWich and across from Immac. The menu has a lot of vegetarian options, which you don’t see often in this neck of the woods. But I usually go with the sushi lunch special. You can pick one of a number of roll options and they come with a big house salad. The salad is huge and has very fresh ginger dressing. The sushi is clearly very fresh with tender, well cut fish and meets my expectations. They have plenty of other, mostly stir-fried options for lunch, too. I’d say I’d try them soon, but… sushi. One of the other reviewers is totally correct on parking being a draw back, though. Bring some pocket change for a meter.

Solid food here. I love sushi and it’s usually fresh. My vegetarian friend loves it here as there are many options. Good place for lunch. They have 9 Miyo’s restaurants in a 30 mile radius so they must be doing something right. The service at Main street is always great.

Service is okay. When I say okay, I really mean, «We didn’t really see our waiter unless she was bringing the food or bill to the table.» For a Miyo’s restaurant operated by the imfamous owner, I certainly expected better. The food was burnt and the fish tasted funny. I was l kind of disappointed with the overcooked appetizer because it was not busy when I was there. This is not what I expected from Miyo’s.

My wife and I went to Miyo’s after reading all of the rave reviews(e.g., «Best of Columbia», etc.). We went in not expecting authentic Chinese(we both have lived in China for an extended period of time), but perhaps something PF Chang-ish. I have to say, next to this place, PF Chang looks like a 5 star restaurant. First, we ordered a beef satay and vegetarian egg rolls for appetizers. The satay was hard and chewy with practically no taste. The egg rolls actually tasted worse than egg rolls we have had from a local Chinese buffet! The appetizers were bad, but we were still hopeful that the entrees would live up to the hype. Nope… not at all. I ordered the General Tso’s chicken(a dish that is almost impossible to screw up) and my wife ordered the Kung Pao chicken. We have ordered these dishes at PF Changs and enjoyed them, so we were expecting something in the same ballpark from Miyos. The General Tso’s was bland and I even tasted a couple pieces of bad chicken. I’ve had better General Tso’s from generic Chinese take-out places. The Kung Pao chicken was even worse, as the peanuts were completely rotten! They tasted like they were around a year old and the dish was LOADED with peanuts. Peanuts notwithstanding, the chicken itself was also pretty gross. My wife went to work picking out the peanuts(they ended up filling up almost a whole rice bowl) and a waitress stopped by. We explained to her that the peanuts were rotten and all she did was bring us to-go boxes! I was a waiter during college and if I saw a customer picking through the dish and heard them complain that the dish was bad, I would have automatically removed the dish and ask what I could do to fix the problem. The waitress did nothing to address the problem and we ended up paying for all the dishes. I didn’t want to be a douchebag customer and demand the dish be removed from the bill… but perhaps I should have. In short, we are never coming back to this restaurant. Don’t believe everything you read about this place!

I was not at all impressed with Miyo’s. I’ve visited Columbia twice for business and decided to try a little Chinese food take away since I was missing good ol’ Wokano in Denver. I ordered the General Tso’s chicken and veggie spring rolls and was told it would take about 15 minutes. Now, I know they do things a little slower in the South, but I waited at Miyo’s for close to half an hour for my food– ridiculous. I was charged $ 15.15 for the lot, which seems quite pricey to me, especially since when I got home and tried the food, it was bland, especially the sauce on the Tso’s. I will not be going here again and I won’t recommend it to other colleagues who travel to the NAC.

No meat, no egg, no dairy… no problem. This is one of the best places to go in Columbia for vegan options. They recently changed the menu and it is easy to select sauces, veges, and tofu(or meat). Service is always good and the food is consistently good. Go here. Only drawback is the poor parking.

I find the food to be solid but the price to be slightly too high for what one gets. I go there a lot but I wish certain items were a little cheaper.

i went here for lunch on a sunny Sunday. The atmosphere was very inviting; beautiful Asian theme in the front while we were waiting for our seats, hostess was very welcoming and respectful. Once we were seated, our waiter was very accurate with our orders(we didn’t have to repeat our order more than once), and our food didn’t take too long at all! The presentation on the food was enticing, and it was delicious. If I would go back to Columbia, I will definitely eat lunch or dinner over here!

Best Chinese restaurant in Columbia, South Carolina! If you are looking for Authentic, healthy, and delicious Chinese food in a casual dinning environment, Miyo’s is it. My favorite is their new location — M Vista, located the Vista district of Columbia. Best food and exceptional staff. Two thumbs up!

I would like to marry Miyo’s. In my dreams, it’s a lovely springtime ceremony followed shortly by a bevy of little high-po pseudo-Chinese restaurant babies, which I name General Tso, Shrimp Wonton, and Moo Shu after aspects of their absolutely delicious and reasonably-priced daddy. Get the lychee martini. You can thank me later.
