If I could give them 0 stars I would. I transported my bike and paid 150 to have my bike professionally packed for transport. Whoever boxed it threw the bike and parts into the box without any protection on the frame, fork or frame dropout. Subsequently my bike was damaged on a flight with no recourse. Sloppy, lazy and really surprising!!! Also, amazingly rude older woman who works there… from a very disappointed and a super disgusted by your shop customer…

This store has a cool bike and accessory selection, but they also have incredible customer service. The bike repair shop is great, and I’ve had several excellent experiences with them so far. I bought a very cool looking Cannondale commuter bike last year, but it came with some low quality factory stock pedals; these broke recently and when I took the bike in for a tune-up they gave me a credit for the old pedals and pointed me to a much better set. They also included the tune-up for free since I was within a year window of purchasing the bike. Very happy overall.

This shop is amazing! The staff here went way out of their way to save my trip. I was traveling through from Florida to Asheville NC. On my way our trailer rubbed a hole in the sidewall of the brand new tire on my specialized camber 29. Needless to say I did not pack a spare tire(lesson learned). The store did not have the tire I needed in stock so they pulled a tire off a brand new bike on the shelf. Great job guys!!! I can’t thank you enough. Keep up the great service!

Stopped by to see if I could locate a USC jersey as I am in town visiting family from Hawaii! I immediately walked in and was greeted by a young college kid who aided me the best he could in locating a Jersey! The inventory they had was really small needless to say I didn’t find what I wanted but the young man was very polite. The rest of the staff didn’t seem to friendly. No one else greeted me. They all pretty much ignored me as I wandered thru the shop! Unbenounced to them I have 10 plus years of knowledge and was looking to pic hade some carbon wheels but I decided to take my business elsewhere. Anyways I found a friendlier shop right around the corner

We needed some tires for a bmx bike my boyfriend is restoring and we found the ones we needed for $ 3 less than Walmart. The owner was very knowledgeable and talked to my boyfriend about his project for a good 15 minutes AFTER the shop closed(it was pouring and he welcomed us to stay until the rain stopped). This is why you buy and support local shops.

Living in Charleston, there are some nice bicycle shops, but nothing like this, with a mix of mid and high end road and mountain bikes, as well as a variety of miscellaneous bikes for commuting, recreating, etc. Lots of parts and accessories, and most importantly, great service. Was traveling through and was hoping that something could get serviced on the same day, and they were able to take care of it, while informing me about the situation, what happened, and why. Great store.

I purchased a Specialized bike here 4 years ago, and have brought it back for service several times. I am giving 3 stars(rather than fewer) because they carry high quality products and usually do minor repairs and adjustments while you wait. The staff seems to know a lot about bikes, but I have never been treated especially well as a customer(I am a recreational rider in my late 60s). For example, if I have a question about a bike rack or helmet or some other accessory I get very cursory information and the feeling they don’t really care if I make a purchase. As a consequence, I have purchased many such items elsewhere. Also, my bike had 5 flat tires in 6 months, and several of them(I believe) were due to faulty tubes. One tube they sold me leaked from the first time they put air in it. Yet, they never offered any discount or even sympathy. I only ride on paved city streets, and there were no signs of damage to my tire(except for one time). Also, when I expressed interest in trading my bike for a newer model, they brushed me off by saying I had to sell it on my own. The other cycle shop in my neighborhood does give trade-ins, and also free maintenance for the life of the bike. Needless to say, I traded in my Specialized bike for a Trek, and do all my business with the other bike store now.

Cycle Center rocks. I’ve bought two bikes from them and each time was a good experience. They’re somewhat close to Outspokin’, but I don’t really prefer one store over the either – both have totally qualified, friendly staff with good deals. Cycle Center deals with a lot of bikes made by Specialized. They also let you rent before you buy and the rental cost, even if you try out a bunch of different bikes, gets taken off your purchase. Really awesome.

Awesome awesome awesome, the whole staff treats you like a friend regardless of your experience. They will cut up and joke around with you, far better experience then Ive had with other bike stores. Mechanic took time to explain why I was having problems with my dérailleur, he knew that particular model inside and out and the long term problems it has. Amazing. They will always be my place to go to now. Prices are very fair and reasonable, work is top notch, well stocked and awesome staff.
