All of the boxes of the clearance shoes have the tops ripped off. This is a poor decision on the part of management at this store because people WANT the boxes in tact. If I buy a pair of shoes as a gift, I want the box in tact. I am so disappointed.

I love Academy Sports. They have all levels of sporting goods from low price to top quality. I love options and they give them to me. The employees here are extra friendly and helpful. I’m not sure if that’s because they’ve just opened or if this how this store will be run but I’m a fan and I hope they keep up the good work!

I love Academy Sports. In fact, the only complaint I had was that there wasn’t one closer to me in Irmo, but now there is! Stopped in here over the weekend to pickup some new swimwear for the lake. The store just opened last week so it was packed and they had tons of employees working. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and guided me to the mens swimwear section.
I was able to purchase a pair of Under Armour swim trunks, originally priced at $ 50 for $ 20, which was a great deal. I also got a high performance t-​shirt that was marked 50% off because of a small «tear» it had. What a great deal!
Aside from that, Academy routinely has great prices and great brands. I will never go to another big box sporting goods store again if I can help it.
