I love this little bar! But let me emphasize that it is SMALL. They have great drinks and service, but it gets really packed — especially on the weekends. There is another room in the back, but it’s also small. Bands sometimes play in the back room, but given the space it isn’t the best place to see a show. There is only one stall in the bathroom, so that can sometimes suck but other than that, no complaints!

Definitely one of my go-to bars in downtown area! Not super crowded on the average night. Every time I’ve been everyone there, employees and guests have been incredibly welcoming and just an awesome vibe to be around. Bartenders have been very attentive even though they don’t know me by name. Fun place!

Quickly becoming our out of the way bar, for a quiet bar burger and cold beers. Great burger, great drinks, great prices. Knowing a long time friend and bartender makes the place that much more welcoming but also meeting the other staff who is a Red Wings fan as well, makes it just like home. The atmosphere makes up for the places that are way to stuffy and over priced… we love it! We will be coming back! ;)

Good music and good alcohol prices. Reminds me of places back home we went to. We had a good time.

I’m a fan of the nickel. When the Focus on the Family vibe of the Springs gets to be too much for you, come to the nickel. They hold a proud middle finger up to all of those bigoted folks. Cool local punk shows, hilarious burlesque shows, and cheap Pabst on tap. How could I not like this place? One night I watched a kid cover the Dead Kennedys solo with an accordion and a bass drum. They also serve decent burgers here, my favorite is the«heart attack». I wish more of the kids who come here would order one before they start drinking because seeing a guy puking in the bathroom is common here. My only suggestion would be a better booze selection but I’ll still be back, the rest is too good to miss.

I’ve been a patron and attended shows here since it opened 5 years ago. While I have a place in my heart for Tony’s, «the nickel» has become my neighborhood choice. Primarily a Punk Rock venue, the jukebox has everything from Bad Brains to Hank Williams and lots in between. Drinks are better than affordable and their staff are friendly and attentive. I read a review where someone got dirty looks here. In the five years I’ve been here I’ve only ever seen a few dirty looks here. A few from my girlfriend to me ;) and when someone acts like a dummy. All in all a great place«off the strip» as they say. Also, great place for football on Sundays with 5 televisions and 2 big screens.

Kind of crowded, bands were great. I will go back again, I guess I was just looking for something a little more toned down than this, otherwise i’d give it a higher rating.

I love this place; it is one of my favorite bars in the Springs. Not too nice or clean inside, it has a ton of character and a pretty spectacularly unique crowd. The price is right(read: cheap booze) and they have Pabst on tap, which is an immediate draw for me and my friends. The jukebox contains a pretty eclectic selection of music that just about mirrors my own iTunes; classic rock, heavy metal, old school punk and some country music all make an appearance, and none of them really seem out of place when played. There is also a small stage in back that will sometimes have any number of different live acts playing some music. I have seen some equally awesome and terrible music here; but the cool thing is how close you get in with this up and coming or side project of a side project bands. As a warning, sometimes a cover will appear along with a night of music. On some nights, this can be a pretty hip place, so if smug pretention or scarves in all weather makes you want to put a brick through your own face, this may not be the place to you. The bar has an affinity for the Pittsburg Steelers, which is obviously stupid and lame because that team blows dogs for quarters. Despite these issues, I absolutely love this place, and always do my best to convince friends to go there with me.

I love the Triple Nickel. I’ve seen a couple of shows at the TNT, and loved every minute of it. Now they have a nice big stage and it sounds killer. I’ve always felt right at home when I walked in — the smell of stale beer, dark, stiff drinks and great bar talk. There was a fun game there(shuffleboard) I think it was called. I had never played before, and I got a we bit competitive. Good times! The TNT gets lots of great shows. The person who books there gets great bands consistently going through. The people of Colorado Springs are very lucky to have this bar. I see the previous poster got dirty looks when she walked in. I’ve never had this experience at this bar. Granted I’ve had that experience at other bars, but never once at the Triple Nickel. The patrons and staff have always been more than awesome every time I came in. Check it out… I know they keep a list of their shows online, so Google it.

You know when you walk into a bar and you get dirty looks from the patrons for no apparent reason? Come here if you enjoy that.

This is a cool bar that also frequently has shows in the back. It has a decent beer selection and an excellent jukebox. I’d go back just for the jukebox.
