The food was overall pretty good, but has literally the most ridiculously bad service I have ever experienced at a restaurant ever. Ordered the kimchijigae and teokboki. The teokboki tasted terrible — super watery, not sweet at all, not even a little spicy, and for some reason they but a crapton of sesame oil in it(???). I asked if we could take back the teokboki and just order another kimchijigae for my wife instead — she says yes we just have to pay the difference because it costs more. Then the bill comes and the waitress puts both the kimchijigaues AND teokboki on the bill, despite ALREADYAGREEING beforehand we would be paying the difference. And she WOULDNTTAKEITOFF, despite not only taking the dish away from us but already agreeing to make us just pay for 2 kimchijigaes. The waitress literally has no shame. Food was really good despite the teokboki, but won’t ever come back due to the ridiculously bad service. What a piss poor excuse for a waitress.

Quick efficient service with great food for lunch. Short ribs lunch special was about $ 12. Can’t beat that. Unlimited sides. It was so good. The rice was good. The soup was good. The place was packed but we didn’t wait long. They take credit cards.

Good Korean food at a reasonable price. First time eating here, and I was pleasantly surprised that they had some free appetizers for lunch, in addition to what I had ordered. Nothing fancy, but the food and service was good.

My friend and I’ve now moved out of state and we are living in what should be a fantastic place for asian food. I’ve yet to find anything as great as Tong Tong and in light of this fact, I’m upping my evaluation.

My husband and I ate here our first day in COS and it felt like home food(I’m originally from LA) I got the bulgogi bimbimbap(sorry if misspelled) and my husband had the vegetable ramen. Both were so good and very authentic. I love all the side dishes they give in the beginning of the meal. I have no complaints. I would come back!

I grew up in LA with Koreatown but a 15 minute drive away. My mantra is, you can tell is a Korean restaurant is good if a. Its banchan consists of multiple options of quality taste, and b. If their kimchi is just the right amount of spicy to pickle ratio. Needless to say, Tong Tong does not disappoint. I had some«kimchi pancake» with cold noodles(pibin nangmeyon). Good lord, it was hit the spot and made me feel I was in a Korean supermarket eating homemade Korean food again! Their ingredients are fresh and their selections make you want to try them all. The banchan speaks for itself. I would dare to argue this is THE Korean spot to frequent in the Springs.

This is the best Asian restuarant I’ve been to in a long time. Dumplings and sweet potatoe noodles were our appetizers. Barbeque meets were all very tender. Large portions.

Wow! We read the reviews and decided to stop in for lunch. What we found was this delicious little Korean place that was super affordable with friendly service. My friends weren’t as into Korean food as I thought, but they loved their main dishes. I loved all of the side dishes as well. The kimchi was on point here! The cucumbers and the bok choy were delicious too. I had the bulgogi with japchae, which was incredibly tasty. I tried my friends chicken and it was delicious too. We also ordered a meal to take back to the office and they did a great job with the carry out service as well. I’ll be back!!!

I love Korean food and Tong Tong did not disappoint. The bulgogi is perfect and the barbeque ribs have a delicious marinade. The variety of kimchi is amazing. I especially like the cucumber kimchi. The waitress was sweet.

I was craving Korean food since I left Koreantown in Los Angeles. I never understood a concealed place may be located in COLORADOSPRINGS. My buddy lives there and chose to choose us tonight. I purchased the steak bones soup and it bought back lots of memories. It was perfect size as well as fulfilled. Adore the miniature dishes. I’d return again.

I was hoping to get some good Korean food. And this place was just OK. The grilled chicken feels like just teriyaki chicken and the bulgogi feels like there were flour in it which was weird. The cold noodle dish was OK. The broth was decent. The waitress was kind of rude when I asked about the restroom. And I also noticed we are the only table wasn’t given any refills on the side dishes while the other tables all got the refill. I wasn’t bothered by it. I was just wondering why.

Tong Tong restaurant is a typical Korean restaurant with an unusual name which means ‘chubby.’ It is easy to find and has its name both in Korean and English, which makes it easy to find. Tong tong’s atmosphere resembles a Japanese restaurant with the sliding rice paper covered doors and the interior decorated with Korean cultural items, such as a Korean hand fan, children’s Hanbok(Korean traditional clothing) and Samsung flat screen TVs. The side dishes were the first to arrive. They were numerous and tasty. I had tried a few other local Korean places and they hadn’t even provided kimchi. Hence thumbs up to Tong Tong. We started the meal with dokboki(a spicy red rice cake formed into a roll with slices of fish cake covered in a spicy sauce) to warm up the pallet before getting beef bulgogi. The dokboki portion was modest and the flavoring of the sweet spicy gochujang(red pepper based) sauce was agreeable with my friend that had never tried the dish before. Being an almost native of Korean street food, I thought the mild sauce needed a little kick. But the consumer base would be satisfied. We received the bulgogi on a sizzling metal plate, similar to which Mexican restaurants use for fajitas. The mix of garlic, peppers and aroma from the sizzling thin beef slices had us eager to dig in. The bulgogi didn’t disappoint me, being marinated in a mixture of beer and soy sauce creating a tender meat with just a little bit of fat, Tong Tong Style! We eagerly destroyed it accompanied with a metal container of rice. My tastes thought it was overly sweet but my friend had the look of satisfaction on his face and shirt. Overall, the meal was satisfactory, my non-Korean-food-eating friend was quite satisfied.

Tong Tong is hands down my favorite Korean restaurant in Colorado Springs! I lived in Korea(2009 – 2010) and have been unable to find restaurant(s) that bring me back to the delicious(moderately priced) time I resided in southeast Asia. I ordered the Kalbi– oh my gosh, cooked to PERFECTION! Their gatdoogie, kimchi, and ohdang are out of this world. The wait staff are friendly and accommodating. The only part of the restaurant I do not like is that there are no «cook-it-yourself» grills at each table, everything is order only, this isn’t a deal breaker– but it’s definitely fun to grill your own meat. If you are as obsessed with Korean cuisine as I am and long for the days you once lived /would like to live in Korea– then this is the restaurant for you! Tong Tong is perfect for large groups as well. Visit Tong Tong, you will NOT be disappointed.

We visited this place during our family vacation to Colorado. Unilocal was showing that Tong Tong is one of the best Korean food in the area. It was so true with awesome Korean cuisine such as O-sam bokkeum(squid and pork belly) and Bul-nak jeongol(hot stew with beef bulgogi and octopus)!!! Excellent customer service that even my 3 children mentioned it a couple of times since we’re back from vacation. I strongly recommend this place!

I cannot say enough about this authentic Korean restaurant! Their service is fast and polite, and our servers made excellent recommendations. All the food was fresh and served at the perfect temperature. The Tteokbokki appetizer is a dish I would order again and again. Perfect date night location.

Since my army veteran travel companion had been talking about his tour in Korea, we decided to go for Korean food for dinner one night. The building looked a bit old on the outside, and the interior was rather spacious. There was just a few minutes of wait, and the place seem very shorthanded with just one waitress running into the kitchen to help out, then run out to take orders at the dining area, and she answers the phone too. We got seated at an isolated area behind the dividers. We got the Japchae as a starter, and they passed the benchmark test for me. They also have a nice variety of side dishes too. Judging from the pictures others had taken, they probably rotate the varieties by the weeks or days, since each were slightly different. I had the Spicy Noodles Soup for entrée, and they were actually spicy for me, quite the surprise at a Korean place. It was plain simple joy of spiciness with delicious clear noodles. Overall, Tong Tong was a solid place to get Korean food. Service was a bit slow, most likely due short staffs. I would come again to try their other dishes.

My friend and I got the bulgogi bibimbap and the La-galbi. Both dishes and the side dishes were excellent. The galbi(bbq short ribs) was super tender and flavorful. The service is also kind and efficient. We paid $ 25 for lunch and it was truly wonderful experience. Def gonna come back.

Definitely as good as it gets! We didn’t really know what to do when we arrived because the entrance is very different from your average restaurant. But I’m pretty sure you’re suppose to wait at the front entrance for someone to seat you. After getting seated, we were given our water. They definitely use a very good water filter because that water was delicious! The food was, for lack of a better word… Phenomenal…Fantastic…Amazing! Can’t wait to go back… VERYSOON!
