The kind of Mom and Pop Mexican restaurant you find in Southern California and south Texas. Home made salsa and carefully prepared food with fresh ingredients. This place made my day.

So I saw this place come up on , since it was close, I was willing to try it out. I purchased the gift certificates and just now got around to trying them out. The cashier didn’t know how to use the certificate so she had to call the owner. The owner informed the cashier that she just signed up for that site to get customers in, but didn’t actually take the certificates. I complained that I had already bought the gift certificates but apparently that didn’t matter. We just said whatever and paid for our food anyways. We had 2 drinks, a torta, a cheese quesadilla and 4 tacos. Nothing too fancy but the total was almost 30 dollars. WOW! We could have went to one of the nicer sit down Mexican food places in town for that much! The portions were small and the tacos were nothing special, I would much rather have Nacos Tacos a bit up the road. I am disappointed how they lure you in with the gift certificates and then refuse to honor them. Overall a terrible experience and I won’t ever be back.

So i went back today for dinner. There was an old lady there who literally did not speak one word of english, and deferred my order to a little girl(maybe 10 years old) who got it COMPLETELY wrong. Most alarming, this little girl had a SERIOUS case of oral herpes broken out on her mouth rubbing it profusely.(no im def not making this up). so if the little girl was allowed behind the counter in her condition, what was she allowed access to… EXTREMELY un nerving… i retract my previous 5 star rating. i will NEVER go there again.

I sometimes pass up this truck and struggle between them and Del Taco. If there’s no line for the taco truck and the awesome Korean restaurant is closed, I’ll toss a coin on taco toppings and go for the more authentic Mexican food. I usually rotate between carne asada, lengua and carnitas tacos as the chicken tacos I had my first time were tough and dry. The other meats definitely redeemed the chicken though and the sauces have a delightful kick to them. The only downside to taco trucks is that their hours and menus are inconsistent. I haven’t gotten sick(knock on wood) and the tacos are always nice and hot and loaded up with sauce so all in all, it’s a keeper.

Cheap tacos, great taste need I say more? This mobile taco selling joint is pretty decent. The tacos are $ 1.50 which is great, I mean if you are paying more then a buck fifty for tacos, then you have just been taken for a spin on highway robbery blvd. I had 2 tacos al pastor and a taco de lengua. It was good. The tacos al pastor did not impress me only because I am a fan of Luna Market and their tacos rock. The lengua taco was pretty good it passed the test. They put each order in a tray and then wrapped up food in plastic wrapper which I have never seen before but was great because it keep the food from falling apart while we took it back home.
